My husband and I have begun to make excuses to go to this part of town. Maybe we need to go to shopping? Or do we really just want to go to the Union Diner?! The place has an amazing menu! So many items from which to choose, so I guess we will have to go a lot of times to try it all! Haha! My favorite so far is the chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan combo with pasta, a salad, and soup! (The cream of turkey, when they have it, is HEAVEN!) I get this for myself and take my leftovers home. The portions are generous and this feeds me for a couple meals. Service has consistently been excellent, no matter what time of day or what day of the week we've stopped in to enjoy a bite!

Wow $17 for a beef Gyro? And you get 1 thin slice on the left and one thin slice on the right. I’ve never in my life seen such a terrible job at a gyro. How can you screw this up? If you had a Gyro just about any city in this country and they usually give you a decent amount of meat. It’s usually the entire idea behind the sandwich. This garbage. $25 for gyro tax and onion rings.

On our way to a family movie night we decided to get a quick dinner here. The service was great 5 of us sat comfortably at a big booth. They had so many option for long Island iced teas. Very fun to choose.. we got burgers and fries and a gyro and wraps. The food was great the server was very friendly. Great dining experience and would come here many more times for breakfast lunch or dinner.

First time here this afternoon. We ordered Buffalo wings and fries with melted mozzarella. The fries were dry and burnt.. the chicken were dry, burnt with a weird taste. We stopped in to do some school work and enjoy the food. We ended up paying and leaving everything on the table..

I grew up going to this diner. I recently begged my girlfriend to take me instead of a popular one nearby. I felt like I jumped into a timewarp. It was outdated and my food was not good. My waiter and the manager were very friendly.

Roast beef club looked good for presentation but the beef was so fatty and grizzly that it was hard to eat. Everything else in the sandwich was fine. Why not trim the meat before serving or buy more lean meat so I don't have to spit out half my mouth of food that I can't chew or swallow?

I’ve been going here for over 15 years and this Union Plaza Diner remains consistently excellent - today was no exception. I ordered the ribeye and shrimp scampi combo with penne, greek salad, and matzo ball soup. This is the only diner I know that serves a complimentary greek salad with your entree and the salad comes with anchovies (on request). I’ll always stop by whenever I’m in the area

Food, atmosphere, and service was amazing! The entrees tasted incredible, there were huge portion sizes, Nicole was very attentive and provided great service. I would definitely recommend visiting for couples/family casual brunch dates!

Service fee on take out is a complete ripoff! Food was $164 & they had the audacity to add a 10% service fee & a 4% service charge on top of it. Added fees were 14% = $23.49 Stay away! There are much better places to take out from that don’t gauge you with an exorbitant service fee!!

Haven't been too this diner in years. On November 25, 2023. We went there and the place was cold. No heat what so ever. It was a terrible experience. The food we ordered we couldn't eat because place was cold. The food we ordered didn't taste good, except for the soup and the salad. The waitress was nice and made sure we was good. I don't recommend taking a date too this diner. I will never eat out of there again.

Great diner experience. Love getting breakfast here before 3pm so I can get the grits (I have to put a bunch of salt on it but it’s perfect once I do). I love the greek omelet and I love getting bacon on the side (6 strips!), and I have also had a great dinner special during the week which came with generous helpings of salad and soup along with the main meal.

Food overall was pretty well for the establishment but unfortunately due to terrible customer service , this diner deserves a 1 star rating. The server who was serving my party was very quiet at first , which is no issue, until she brought out our order which was slightly wrong. When I informed her about the discrepancy of the order she instead chose to roll her eyes and not respond at all while taking away the plate while I apologized for the inconvenience of the request. I was the customer and yet I apologized with no acknowledgment. In order to deescalate the situation I reported the behavior to what I assumed was a higher up in uniform. While being respectful about the situation and simply bringing it to his attention he proceeded to tell me he viewed nothing wrong of the waitress’s actions and completely ignored whatever was being said and instead shamed me over the dish I sent back because it wasn’t what I ordered. Once eating, me and my friend had over heard the man talking to what seemed to be another higher up about how our waitress had actually left for the night and just walked out. He also ignored the woman he was talking to as well. With that said I will never be coming back here. To an extent it is admirable for an employer to stick up for there staff , but not in a situation where the staff member was clearly wrong and rude and completely ignore the costumer, aka me, from simply just reporting the behavior with no attitude or disrespect. If you are having a bad day, please don’t that out on other people! That behavior should not be tolerated due to the fact this diner prior to the revamp was very sweet and enlightening. I would’ve given this place zero stars if it wasn’t for the women at the cash register in the red dress, she was the only one making sense and still showing everyone a smile which was very appreciated after the uncomfortable mess my party was put through.
