Good gracious! This place is so homey, so rustic, the vibe is so good. This is what I had on my visit: Holohan's Pan Boxty (£10): I got the salmon option. It's really delicious overall, seasoned perfectly. The sauce is not too heavy not overpowering, fish is great, veggies also fresh. Portion's enough for me. This is gonna be my go to menu every time I come here. Sticky toffee pudding (£6): I absolutely love it, every single component! Though I thought the portion would be slightly bigger, but the taste pays that off. Enjoyed the dessert! Worth every penny. Service is also great. On my visit, one of the guys kindly briefed me with the menu (maybe he could tell that it's my first time here), which for me is a sign of good hospitality. It's recommended to book your table before coming cause the ground floor is not really that big and I don't know about their second floor seating (not sure if they even have that one, didn't notice that on my visit). Overall, I will definitely come back again for their other menu. Great job, Holohan's!

I came here on my first day in Belfast and i definitely don’t regret it. I had the chicken, chorizo and tarragon cream holohans pan boxty with broccoli and green beans and it was all so delicious!!! For the first time i tried a strawberry cider and it was also so tasty. Finally i tried the lemon posset and it was soo good!! Overall great place with a nice location and homely atmosphere, you can tell they are well known and the staff is very friendly too!

I ordered the Holahan's pan boxly with seafood, the fish was salmon and cod with cream and dill, it was divine. . . the crepe that wrapped the filling was delicious, it was melt in a mouth and the whole dish was fresh, At the moment Holohan's is my favorite restaurant in Belfast. I will come back and try another specialty...😋

I had the soup of the day - which today was creamy mushroom and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was a bit sweet on its own but it goes perfectly with the butter. Then I had the sea food boxty - really good. The portion was massive (I couldn’t even finish it all) and the price was okay. The place is really cute inside and all the waiters were suuuper friendly.

Quintessentially Irish home cooking with a gourmet flair and welcoming hospitality are attributes that all converge at Holohan’s Pantry to create one of the finest dining experiences I’ve had in Belfast. Nestled on a busy street across from Queen’s University, you’re pleasantly surprised to step through the portal and find the lively, but deceivingly cozy atmosphere in this well decorated, sprawling restaurant. If you’re lucky enough to show up on a Thursday evening like me, you’ll find the air is not only filled with the aromas of the delightful dishes awaiting your tastebuds but also with the sounds of amazing local musical talent playing traditional Irish tunes in an intimate setting. I’d heard a lot about the famous Holohan boxty and couldn’t wait to sample it, and boy did it not disappoint! I’ve since returned on several other occasions and have declared the seafood boxty my favorite! The rest of my party ordered a wide variety of the other dishes and, to a person, we were all thoroughly pleased with how well prepared each dish was (each of them were delicious!); the right level of speed they were served; and the gracious and accommodating staff who served us. Speaking of accommodating staff, a special shout out to Sam who went above and beyond in attending to me and my party— his recommendations and service were bar none! Thank you! An all-star cast with fabulous food in a space that felt like all your own— who could possibly ask for more? In my case, I’ll just be asking for “more often”— this gem is a keeper!

A charming little restaurant. There are hits and misses but it’s worth a visit for some local food. (Seen on VisitBelfast Chargrilled veggies are tasty but a bit oily. The blue cheese is soft and flavorful, not too sharp or salty. Mixed veggie side makes me feel healthy. The steamed carrot is well cooked and naturally sweet. Sea bass is juicy with lovely crispy skin. Lamb rump is tender. Seafood boxty is interesting, although the cream filling is quite heavy for me. A little note: The cooking temperature/time on the griddle seems to be quite unstable. The boxty and the potato terrine are both a little burnt. Service is friendly. We also enjoyed a few minutes of beautiful live music. It would be helpful to have some background music after the performance ends.. My mother adores the hand painted vases :)

Genuinely, I have never been so upset when a meal has come to an end. Unbelievably delicious. Had there of been no other diners I would've picked up each plate and licked them clean, disgusting and uncouth I know, but I need to express how tasty these dishes were. I had the goats cheese to start, a chicken boxty for main and plum tarte for dessert. STUNNING. The pudding is what I believe fire works night would taste like if it had a taste. My husband had, the soup of the day, seafood boxty for main and a Guinness chocolate dessert. Consider us a very content and well fed couple

Eclectic little place to eat. The croquettes were fab. The seafood pancake was good. Parmesan chips were well flavoured. The dessert was very sweet, but clearly made with attention to detail.

Our party of four had an amazing meal and dining experience at Holohans Pantry last Sunday. We had booked to celebrate a birthday while staying in Belfast and from the moment we arrived we felt welcome, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Holohans team. Thomas was brilliant and recommended a delicious Chardonnay, the bread board with oils and butter to share (the Guinness bread and Mustard bread were divine) along with Goats cheese fritters. Delicious! For main course we all chose the famous Pan Boxty. Both the seafood boxty and the chicken and mushroom boxty were a taste sensation and we keep talking about it. We couldn't resist adding sides of Champ and Truffle & Parmesan chips to share as an accompaniment! Irish coffees to complete the meal were perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Belfast! Thank you Team Holohans for such a wonderful meal. Highly recommend to all.

Very tasty food. I had to try Boxty to see who makes them better, Northern Ireland or Poland. I liked them as much as I love the Polish ones. Excellent service from friendly and professional waiters. Highly recommended.

This place was absolutely spot on in every way. The main man got me seated (I hadn't booked) and gave me a nice table all to myself. He was absolutely awesome as was his assistant. I was on my own, in trakkie bottoms but this wasn't an issue. I had the amazing pan fried boxty with asparagus tips and it was one of the best meals I've ever had! Seriously! Atmosphere, service and food were top drawer. Thanks for being amazing!

Great little place, very welcoming and fitted us in without a booking. Husband and wife team worked the room admirably. A small menu that is well picked out comprising a few options from every kind of dish you might like. Locally sourced and traditional options. At the end we were left to chat and finish our drinks and ultimately had to get up and ask to settle the bill, no problem but if you’re keen to get off after eating probably best not to wait for the bill.

Fabulous! Absolutely amazing resturant. I was a lone diner and the staff made me feel so welcome. Bacon chops so good that I had to return with my sister. She also loved it and had the boxty. Both times the food and service were outstanding. Fabulous spot for a truly memorable meal in Belfast.

Was here today for lunch with my girlfriend and could have been a better choice! We both had the fish and chips, they were cooked to pretty with crispy batter and homemade skin on chip. Then we had the sticky toffee pudding and lemon tart! Can’t really say much more but wow! Highly recommended and see you For dinner next week many thanks

This is a really loving restaurant, very surprising decor. It was lunch time, we had not booked a table but the staff member who greeted us went out of his way to find us one. He also took the time to go through the menu with us, the food was top notch and the wine was also great. Food is reasonable priced. We will definitely be back, may e for dinner this time, to see what the place looks like at night. 5 stars all round. Thank you.

Wonderful evening here. The food was delicious and 2 of us had the pan boxty on the house recommendation. We were made to feel very welcome and the interior was homely but elegant. We chose the chardonnay ,also on the house recommendation, which was perfect for our meal. I would highly recommend it for an evening out.

I would go back tomorrow if I could. DELICIOUS bespoke food. The waiting staff were lovely people. When we asked about ingredients because one of us has an intolerance, they cooked a new sauce for her. They also made a drink especially for what we liked! I am so full because I didn't want to waste a single mouthful! Can we give extra stars?

Astounding. It's a miracle that my traditional Irish in law could love the same place that my contemporary palate likes. It was incredible and a perfect birthday celebration!
