Visited for food and drinks. Very nice food and drinks here. The food came out really quickly but we had an issue with drinks taking a while, and on one round 3 different waiters forgot to place our drinks order. Overall though a nice visit here at a decent price. The atmosphere was also very good.

We had the Sunday Roast with some of the extras, like pigs in blankets and the cauliflower cheese, everything was delicious, but the seasonal veg was below par, basically 50% red onion chopped into quarters and a bit under done, that was the only negative, the service was great and the selection of drinks is excellent. We will be back again.

My first time I was invited by Narrow Margin Tameside band to write a review on their comeback gig ! A real gritty place which encourages our new bands to play & to get discovered ! Truly an an amazing place to be seen & spotted ! Fantastic for the music scene! In the heart of Manchester’s music scene !

New menu after covid. I miss French toast and grilled banana. New shape of pancake looks good.

Love this place! Great choice of cocktails. We went for brunch which I would highly recommend. The food was great and they also cater for vegans

The service was quick and friendly. Price of the food is very good for the quantity of food you get and it’s all presented well. I had the fried chicken and “waffles” minus the egg. The waffle was more of an American style pancake, the overall dish had a very smokey taste to it but ultimately it was lovely.

Went to see Sam Ryder here and it was fantastic :) I was unfortunate to have an accident and required surgery and when I advised the staff they were quick to offer me a seat and another entrance to avoid the crowd and queues. The staff went above and beyond so I could still enjoy the gig despite being on crutches. Thank you so much and would highly recommend :)

Great venue food was good and not overly priced but potions were on small side. Also £2.50 for a bag of Seabrooks crisps was way too extortionate

Went in at 12, got our first drink at 12:40. Got our food about 1ish. Website is outdated as they don't offer most of the cocktails on there anymore. Asked for medium rare on the steak and it was basically well done. Would give 1 star but the staff were nice and they made what drinks we did get strong enough

Had to wait 30 mins for food when no one else was waiting and when it arrived,mine and my husband's were burned.As we had to be somewhere else,we didn't have time to send it back.mentioned it to the waitress when we paid the bill.got an apology but no reduced bill.shoddy!! Won't be going again

Nice evening at Gorilla, food was good. I enjoyed the chicken burger and my friend also enjoyed his bagel, I did feel the price was a little high for the portion size. Reasonable selection of drinks. The service was good but I am not sure I would be rushing to go back for an evening meal, there was no stand out factor but overall very nice.

Solid 5 stars for service and good vibes in a nice location, but 3 stars for food. I ordered chicken and pancakes (no waffles available when we went), and my partner got the pancakes with rhubarb. Everything else was great, but the pancakes were not at all what you’d expect when the menu says buttermilk pancakes (see photo). Mine were fine as a vehicle for the chicken, egg, and bacon, but they were too eggy and a bit underdone for my partner. We would have liked a more accurate description of the food, but maybe they’re updating their menu atm. We’d probably come again and try something else.

Great atmosphere, saw 65 Days Of Static here, draft beer a bit variable but overall a good place to see your favourite band, bad beer is practically part of the specification...

Food was ok. We ordered steak frites which came with salad. Almost finished most of the food and found a root with a brown clumpy thing attached to the root, and it looked like soil. We asked the waitress who then said "ooo I don't know what it is. Shall I ask the chef?" She returned with our plate but the root and soil was removed, and said oh it's the roots from the leaf salad. When asked about the brown clumpy soil, she said "I've not noticed that" and gave a very "innocent" look. No apologies at all, very ignorant and trying to fool us. I'm not returning again.

Breakfast here is amazing. Staff are always friendly. Coffee is good too x

People around us had been waiting for up to 2 hours for food which put us off wanting to order. We did however order and the food arrived in reasonable time. There were a few issues with the wine we ordered and with the final bill but it was eventually sorted.

I was at the Pvris concert on 19th Feb 2020. The venue itself is good, very intimate setting which is enjoyable. Disabled seating is very sparse so you need to request is fast.

Not the best club I've ever been to! Aggressive staff, they take ages to let anyone in and when they do it's non stop harassment. Not great

We went to the venue and had a good time. Loses a star for the queues at the toilets (one set were out of order) and the bar.

For beer and coffee we had to wait 20 mins, for 2 breakfast 1 hour! My note 1/10

Great little club, ideal for gigs, tiny bar but great service, little balcony for anyone wanting to sit also, stage is a great height so everyone can see and interact. Great venue for gigs. Bar is really comfortable as well.

Honestly a terrible food experience. We just ordered pretty straightforward brunch stuff which took almost an hour to come. It was not busy. When it did it was really cold. The scrambled egg appeared as though it was made from a packet, 1 tiny bit of cold chewy bacon and a sausage which clearly had been microwaved. The other meals were similarly poor. The only half decent thing were the hot chips. Coke was flat and coffee cold. The best thing was the waitress who was great but clearly couldn't do anything about what was happening / or not happening behind the scenes. She did replace our cokes with bottled coke. We didn't complain about the food at the time because we were so so hungry and had waited so long. I wish we had. Genuinely don't want anyone else to have a similar experience....

Always good food here, been loving their roasts before the pandemic, and yesterday I went back here for the first time. Ordered the chargrilled chicken which was accompanied by the most amazing chimicurri sauce, crunchy roast potatoes and fresh veggies. The use of good quality sea salt lifted this dish to the next level. Would def order again!

Absolutely amazing time spent here with family, a great team of people who served us here are so lovely, food was top quality and cocktails were perfect, definitely a return for us.

Hippo's reunion, very, very good. The music was great, the guys warming up the dancefloor did a superb job and the orchestra, I wasn't to enthusiastic about them but they turned out to be intense and it worked, they were good. But as always Jay Wearden took it away. Another quality night. Thanks Jason, Rosie and all the folk who helped us oldies feel alot younger for the night, although I may also have slipped a disc Jay. Fantastic food and coffee, relaxed on a Saturday morning. Excellent vegan breakfast and chicken with pancakes, good to find a place that can showcase vegan and non-vegan food so well in the same place.

Amazing cocktails and food, great atmosphere and brilliant, helpful and friendly staff. After eating our meals we went next door to the club to watch a band. Great little live music venue. My only criticism would be we would have liked a few more choices on the bottle bar, but overall we had a fantastic night.

Good sound but the stage isn't too high so it's hard to get a decent view if you're not tall or near the front. There is a balcony at the back but it's not huge. Get there early if like me you're a bit vertically challenged.

Didn't have a great breakfast here. Service was nice; pleasant but a bit slow. Food was so-so; unripe avocado on burnt toast (which they volunteered to take off the bill 👍), salty ham hock eggs benedict (not complaint worthy but not to my taste), steak and eggs was good!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were surprised at how slow and inattentive the service was, considering the place was half empty. We ordered burgers which were very dry and had a 40-minute wait. Our server asked if we wanted sauces then never came back with them. The bill included a service charge automatically, making it feel overpriced for the experience. It's a shame because the food here was always excellent when we'd visit regularly a few years ago.

Amazing venue for live bands, venue manager was also extremely helpful when contacted about my partners injury and reserved seats for us to still enjoy the gig in safety

Gorilla is one of the best places in Manchester to see a band.

Usually go to Gorilla for a full english. Staff are lovely, the place Is relaxed and friendly and you'll be hard-pushed to find a better quality brekkie anywhere, in my opinion.

Really good service and very tasty food. Atmosphere is good with classic rock music in the background. To the chef: The Reuben bagel was good, but it's not comparable to the Eat New York version.

Good food. 50% off for January which was nice. Latte was very very good and find myself craving since. Only downside was being on a small table in the middle and waiters wandering past bumping into you often. Highly recommend for brunch then a wander around Manchester for afternoon drinks.

That doesn’t seem to happen so well in the UK . so I’m learning to my time . Fortunately for me this lovely restaurant is right next door . The bartender is very chatty and sweet and made me her custom milkshake that is too die for !!!! The pancake stacks with the dried cherries are on special and were also her recommendation ... She is doing a wonderful job and it will reflect well on her tip during settlement . Thank you Gorilla this was a wonderful way to kill some time and spend my afternoon . Cheers . I will definitely be back next time 🇬🇧

Nice food in terms of quality, taste and presentation. My highlight of the meal was the blueberry banana smoothie, it was so fresh and natural. I like it very much. Staffs are friendly, we were having lunch, the environment was quiet, this was the fourth time I came to this restaurant and definitely will come back in future.

Excellent food and friendly service in authentic Manchester surroundings. Have been in the evening and found it a little loud but a great spot for lunch. Would recommend the fried chicken waffles for the perfect mix of salty and sweet. Perfect for brunch or lunch.

Pork roast and bloody Mary’s are both spot on! I believe our meal may have been forgotten but it didn’t matter as it was worth the wait! The pork was tender wish crunchy crackly, sweat home made apple sauce plus more. The art that went into my Bloody Mary made it up there with one of the best! Everything was spot. Pretty expensive all up but think it is worth it! Get in early to beat the crowds, this place fills up quickly

In the Gin Bar the seating all around the bar makes it difficult to order a drink, but was going to see a band so only had the one before going into the venue. In the venue itself there are 3 bars so you dont have to wait around. Great place to watch a band and for me just the right size.

The Gochuchang chicken burger was the best burger I've had in ages. Staff were polite and quick and food didn't take long. Definitely going back...probably for another of those burgers!

Went to a gig there . I think it is great venue with great acoustics and reasonable prices for food and drinks.

Great little spot next to the music venue or opposite The Ritz. The burgers here are really decent. Perfect for filling your belly prior to drinking at the gig :)

Went to a fantastic gig by Samantha Fish. Her band, and the support act were both brilliant. Suggestion though....No soap in the toilets, so the chances of spreading horrible diseases in a gathering of lots of people just multiplied. Not clever, particularly now.

I love small venues and this one is one of the best in Manchester and a great sound system and 2 bars !

Staff were nice however we waited an hour for food that arrived cold. The food itself was alright and we had an okay experience. However when we asked for the bill, it came with a £15 service charge which we were not expecting and not told about beforehand. When we asked if we could remove this we were told it wasn’t voluntary which I think is ridiculous for the experience we received! Food is also very overpriced for what it is, I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.

The experience of food and service was fine. However, we booked a 50% off deal and were charged the full amount. My friend who booked the table has gone back to Gorilla to query this and is awaiting a response. Hopefully, they will realise their error and refund the difference!
