After attempting to eat here on Saturday, and failing, we booked for Sunday. So glad we did! Great service, super atmosphere and the food was simply outstanding. We had the Haggis Fettucine and the Frutti di Mare Linguine. Both were amazingly delicious but also full of ingredients. Would highly recommend.

Always wanted to go here and was a bit hit and miss food wise. Haggis pasta absolutely superb, but the risotto was like a white wine soup. Mentioned to the waiter and he took it off the bill which was kind. Really nice service. I’d go back.

Have you even had a full Edinburgh food experience if you haven't eaten at Cafe Dominicos? On working days, local workers flock here for fast, friendly and cost effective takeaway lunches that taste great. While there's no doubt that hundreds of people live Domenico's for that lunch experience, you should try it for a sit down and dine in. It is delicious! I've eaten a lot of chicken and, hand on heart, the chicken Nduja I have here is among the best. It may be the best! Tip: Look for the Specials board. Give it due attention. The a la carte is excellent but the Special selection has the kitchen's favour and, oh, therefore such great flavour! I could eat Domenico's desserts into I explode. It is a real risk. I want also to shout-out the service. I've been here when it is super busy and the service has always been switched on and friendly. Honestly, I'm so impatient when it comes to food and service speed, but even I struggle to see how Domenico's could be any swifter without compromising quality. As a rule, they get the balance right. Atmosphere-wise; small and cosy. Come here on a date, with a friend or two for a natter or take your mum out for a treat. Tip: Book! If you want to go, have a date in mind, then get that booking in early before someone else does. [April 22 update - Still great]

Food was nice at good price. However, I was surprised at the service. We ordered 3 starters and 1 pasta. All our dishes came together. When we got to eat the pasta, it was a bit cold already. I wish I could have my food served at the right order, especially when a service fee is charged.

I went once and had to go back. The first time we sat down to eat pasta and the second time we ordered take away ciabattas. And both options are just delicious. The attention is great, and the price is fair. Definitely recommend it.

As locals we’ve been here a couple of times; it’s a lovely cosy Italian restaurant of a type you rarely find in the UK anymore. Just great quality food, unpretentiously presented, and excellent value for money. But been moved to write the review after they went the extra mile to fit us in near closing time when another venue let us down. Despite the late hour, the kitchen produced two delicious steaks and the service remained friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.

Cute little restaurant close to the shore. I'd say a gem! Our waiter was amazing, super funny - I didn't catch his name unfortunately. The portions of pasta are huge, and the chocolate orange cake was fantastic. Definitely coming back!

Truly excellent. Every single thing. Simply popped in when visiting Edinburgh because of the high rating and reasonable prices. Despite expecting a good experience, it was even better. The gentleman serving us was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about the food and the area, tolerating all our questions and really helping us out. We collectively got the seafood stew, gnocchi, soup, and grilled peach prosciutto salad. Each one was fantastic - no exaggeration. Food, service, prices, shop, and location were great. This gem of Leith, even emerald of Edinburgh, is a must-visit.

Loved it. Service was great. They had us cracking up. Lovely food, the produce was so nice. Tomatoes 🍅 that were ripe and flavouful, gorgeous wild mushrooms 🍄 . Good size portions. Really nice lighting and general feel. Everything is made fresh, and that's obvious. There's a separate vegan menu too 😋

What an absolute joy this restaurant was. Everything was deliciously cooked and beautifully presented. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The restaurant itself is cozy and friendly with really lovely staff. Highlights were the goat cheese bruschetta and the haggis pasta. I wish I’d tried this place sooner as it is just stunning. The prices are amazingly good value.

It was magnificent to see Tony again after many many years! What a wonderful, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. A small, intimate and totally authentic Italian/Leith experience.👌🏻 Perfect for that special moment with the one you love, or for a joyful gathering with your family and best friends. All of the staff are more than lovely, the food is amazing and as authentic Italian as you could possibly get outside of Italy🍻 I love this place👍🏻❤️

We haven't had such amazing Italian food for a while! Everything is definitely worth it, we've ordered a starter of the day (nduja, avocado & prawns bruscetta), main of the day - halibut with potatoes in creamy leek and artichoke sauce and venison ragu. Everything exceeded our expectations. Flavorsome, big portions. Super nice staff and overall atmosphere make this place an absolute gem!

Fantastic place to eat out, food excellent, and very good value, quality of food amazing, I had the seafood pasta, could not fault it, mussels, squid and king prawns with a wonderful fish broth. Best seafood pasta I have had. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Quick summary. Great restaurant, great food and great staff. Go, you'll be glad you did. An absolute little gem! Takeaway is great and the evening meals are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Service is quick without you being rushed. The food is well prepared, tasty and there's good portions. Seafood linguini had plenty of seafood in it. Not like some of the big chain Italian restaurants. Desert selection is so tempting. Top place.

Immediately off the shore, it looks unassuming but inside it feels welcoming and rustic, and the vibe is very chilled. Waitresses are attentive but you are given space, but welcome conversations, and the owner is very relaxed and a bit of a laugh when you engage with him. Food is ridiculously nice, and I can only say check out the specials board, it was very impressive. Coming back very soon!

What a wonderful restaurant. The ambience is cosy and cute. The menu is very varied and typically authentic. Best of all, a huge attention to detail goes into the preparation of the food and presentation. We were a group and made to feel really special. The staff were so attentive, it just made for a special night. We will definitely be booking again soon!

Dropped by for some takeaway wraps. Really great selection - tried the New Yorker and the big one, both were great. Friendly team and highly recommended!

Unfortunately ate too quickly to take pictures! Always a good sign! I had a few sides- Linguine with garlic and chilli 💯 Pear, blue cheese and walnut salad 💯 Roasted veg salad - was lovely but only had 2 slices of roast aubergine. I expected a range of roasted vegetable. Still, very tasty! Delish!! Great service. 😊 Will be back to try more from the menu! 🙏🏽😍

Fresh food, tasty and not too expensive. Quick service. Waitress that took us to the table looked busy and was not smily but the other waitress was super nice.

👍👍 It's busy, it's tasty and always a nice experience! There is a nice range of flavours infused with spices. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The naan breads with sausages, bacon and eggs were delicious. The only comment I would have is it's so busy and noisy insid...
