What was edgy street food has become fine dining and a hidden gem in Hall Green. This is delicious, beautifully presented, incredibly flavoured food. From entrance to exit, the service was worth the 10% we added into the bill, and they were brilliant with their service. This is the second friend I've brought, and both have left very happy. What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is clean and has a great ambience. Service was impeccable and the food was no different. We ordered the biryani and the crab dish. My husband had a pistachio lassi that he greatly enjoyed as well. I would highly recommend this spot for your next meal. 11/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We visited Raja Monkey for the first time yesterday for my partners Birthday. From start the finish the whole experience was excellent. The staff were welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. Our waiter was great fun and helpful with any questions regard the menu. The food was outstanding, by some way the best Indian food we have ever eaten. We will definitely be back and I can’t recommend highly enough! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of the best Indian restaurants around! Simple! Fantastic service and food! Definitely recommend the thalis! Loads of variety and plenty of food. Definitely recommend the smokey mutton that one of the waiters suggested. Very different and tasty and reasonably priced for the area. Definitely coming back to try the scallops and seafood curries! :)))))

There are no words to describe this place, just go! I’ll try to explain. it’s by far the best food we have ever had at any restaurant. The flavours. The presentation. The service. The atmosphere. The kitchen you can see what everyone is doing. The food is like Michelin star food, the waiter knew everything about every dish. Unbelievable detail. It’s not cheap. But it’s worth every penny. Four of us were all impressed with everything we had, two of us are chefs. If you’re reading this you have to go it’s a real gem of a place.

You better come with a big appetite; The food was amazing 👏🏼 All of the waiters were spectacular, however our main waiter was Masud! His recommendations were on point! Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of my curry or rice (Chicken Chettinad / Mushroom Rice) , but it was so flavorful 5/5. The staff were really lovely and attentive. They didn’t pester us every five minutes so we (Party of 6) were able to enjoy the ambience, the delicious food and company. Like I mentioned above, please come with appetite as you will be given a good portion of food. Do not let these pictures or your eyes lie to you. All in all, would return again; definitely coming again.

It was an amazing Indian restaurant in Birmingham. After exploring the city, we visited here to have our dinner. The staff was very friendly and kind and all of our meals were very fantastic.

New Raja Monkey is great and worth visiting if you love Indian food. They offer a more high end menu now but have retained the thalis and staples of the previous restaurant. Service was great and made sure we were well looked after. I can highly recommend the Ox tail which was slow cooked to perfection and perfectly spiced. The desserts are a nice addition and we had a lovely evening.

A lovely restaurant. Don't view it as a"curry house", view it as Indian cuisine. Yes they do curry but their signature menu has really interesting and tasty dishes to try. Decent wine list and excellent service makes it a great place to eat.

Hired the restaurant for a private birthday event recently and I had an amazing experience. Excellent food and service and overall I can't fault it. They were super accommodating to food allergens and took really good care of us. My personal favourites from the restaurant are monkfish moilee, aloo chaat, murgh makhani, and the keralan slaw. Worth visiting and highly recommended.

A authentic Indian restaurant based on the Stratford road, hall green. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the location is fab. Street parking available outside, easily accessible VIA the bus. I recommend the classic curry, chicken madras paired with the chilli naan 😍👌🏼

Went with friends who live in the local area and knew about this place, it lived up to their description. We all had the thalidomide which was just the right amount. You got to choose the curry to go with the thalidomide which was a bonus and my mutton jalfrezi was delicious. Nice to have some bonus veg and salad too 😋

Excellent quality food, well presented in a pleasant room. Helpful and courteous staff. The range of food is classy and different to many Indian restaurants. Prices are about average for a classy Indian. The criticism I must make however is the size of the main course portions, in particular in the meat and fish meals, 5 pieces of chicken and a 75mm tail of monkfish is simply not enough.

We have the signature dish monkfish, chicken chettinad and chicken korma. All are very delicious especially the monkfish. First class cooking. In our opinions, the food is even better than some of the famous Indian restaurants in Birmingham city!!

First visit to Raja Monkey, after being on my doorstep for many years - we weren't disappointed the service was great and everyone was very attentive. The decor was fabulous inside and we were greated at the door straight away. Parking can be tricky as location is on the busy Stratford Road The menu may look limited at first glance but there is a good variety of dishes to choose from. The Thali was very good value and really tasty. Would recommend a visit and we will be back

Customer service and atmosphere was brilliant. Feels like a fancy restaurant/bar at the same time. Highlighy recommend their murgh makhani! Alcoholic drinks galore but no mocktail options which is unfortunate. Would come again.

Took the family here for a late night dinner and was not disappointed. Certainly the best indian i have had in birmingham. Staff were super friendly and kind. Atmosphere was superb with fantastic decor. Lets get to the food.... I had the tandoor cooked monkfish and it was cooked to perfection with a wonderful cashew nuts sauce to die for. The missus had a paneer kofte which was also delicious. The sauces were perfection, this place is definitely more about quality and class. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Birmingham. 5 stars all the way ✨

One of the best upscale Indian resturants I've ever eaten at! Been there a handful of times and never had any issues. Staff are always super polite and chatty, nothing is ever too much trouble. Food is delicious and well balanced with generous portions. Will be a regular :)

The first time visiting Raja Monkey since the refurb/extension. Firstly, the service here was second-to-none. Very friendly and helpful staff who were attentive throughout our meal. The food is as excellent as always - great grilled chicken, shrimp and really good thali dishes. It will go down well with people seeking authentic, traditional street food as well as those wanting to try something other than the your standard curry house/grill.

Went in on a Thursday evening with my wife and 4 month old daughter. From start to end, the visit was excellent. The food was phenomenal. Good portion size, quality ingredients, abundance of flavours, well thought out dishes and very well executed. The service was impeccable from all of the team. Very warm, welcoming and attentive. Shall be back to work our way through the menu. 5*!

We called for a table of 2 for 8pm on a Sunday knowing they're going to close at 9. When entering the restaurant we sat down for 2 minutes and waiter comes over to take our order but we wasn't ready. The waiter said you got 1 minute as the kitchen will close. I didn't say nothing but asked to recommend me something. Even at this point the waiter didn't particularly help and just wanted us out as soon as possible. If you don't want anyone to come in at 8 then why stay open til 9. We know the closing time and would've ate quickly and went. It's just the way the waiter spoke that ruined our mood and experience of the restaurant. The food was good however it is pricey for the area. Clean place with an open kitchen.

Absolutely amazing, we went to celebrate my father's 70th Birthday with a party of 16. Food was amazing, the menu is not huge however this only means that being their signature dish, they make it taste amazing. So much thought and care in each dish. The team were incredible, supportive to each guest to ensure all are happy. I had scallops for starters with Coastal Crab for my main. It's safe to say they were delicious. You have to try this place.
