Managed to snaffle a table without a reservation (it’s very small, but the guy manning the front of house is really friendly and will try to accommodate you if at all possible), and we’re so glad we did. What a great Malaysian restaurant! We had the nasi lemak with beef rendang and also with fried chicken. Both were fantastic, but I think the chicken just edged it out. My friend took an omelette, which he really enjoyed. We also had the roti with dhal - the roti was really oily, but really good; crisp and flaky with a lot of layers. The dhal was delicious too. Prices are super reasonable, with the exception of the teh tarik which is a very small paper cup for £3.50. The menu has a lot of variety and I’m looking forward to returning and trying more dishes. It’s a bit difficult to find, at the back of Queensway market (back left as you enter). Definitely recommend!

Cannot recommend it enough and cannot wait to be back. Incredible homey food and a really good selection of local options. The roti was out of this world, just melting in our mouths. The sea bass was super delicious and the lemon mint was a good cooler on the side. The stir fried rice was also really good. The prices were very reasonable and the service was more than friendly! We booked same day in advance. Highly recommended!

Definitely a place to visit if you're missing home cooked Singaporean/Malaysian food! Possibly one of the best Malay restaurants in the area (I've tried them all).

Walked in without reservation, nice little restaurant, love the fact that the place is spot clean. Very authentic Malaysian food, no disappointment! The curry laksa is not the western inspired type (not heavy with coconut milk), I’m not a spicy eater but still managed to take the heat. Love the roti as well! Teh Tarik is one of the best I have ever had. Amazing stuff!

I have never had Malaysian food before so comment on how authentic it is but in terms of quality it is incredible. Freshly prepared and delicious, staff are incredible and would really recommend Malaysian tea. The restaurant is no frills but it kind of adds to the atmosphere, it can get busy so could be worth calling and reserving table but we did just walk in, don’t feel like this a dress up kind of dinner, very informal setting. It can be a little hard to find, it’s tucked in the corner right next to Russian video store.

Went here for lunch with my friend. We will never forget this day because it was during this time that the tube was suspended and there were only two of us in the restaurant. :D My friend tried their chicken mi goreng and she can’t get enough of it. I had nasi lemak + beef rendang and roti with dahl. Normah’s roti is highly recommended. I would defo be flying back to London for the roti. The fried chicken starter was crunchy and delicious. Normah and Mohammad was very accommodating and we enjoyed our meal. Thank yous for the hospitality and see you again soon Normah’s.

Some of the best food in London. Phenomenal flavours, value and exquisite dishes. Normah’s is hidden away, but truly a delight. We had the roti dahl - the flakiest roti/flatbread ever. Noodles were the highlight - amazing flavours. Rendang was delicious. The fried chicken was more like it had been battered, but there was amazing taste and texture to it. We also had some lovely milk tea. As you can tell we ordered too much, but will definitely be back! Normah was very sweet cooking away in the kitchen! Highly recommend!

SERIOUSLY DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE 😝 Penantian yang berbaloi. Seriously good food. I was never a fan of asam pedas but this place has utterly converted me into one. (Just be careful of the tiny fish bones). The other main was nasi goreng udang. Tasted so much better than it looked 😆 Even the crispy chicken 🍗 wings starter was surprisingly delicious 🤤 It’s obvious that Kak Normah knows her stuff, and I’d be criminally remiss if I don’t recommend her cute eatery to others.

The best roti I have ever had! I found this restaurant on a food critics blog as the best value for money and decided to try.it is not only the best value for money but the best Roti I ever tried. Period. Tasty and light as a cloud. Make sure you book a table as the restaurant is pretty small. Also you can see Normah i the kitchen cooking all the meals herself.

Don't be deceived by this little hole-in-the-wall place. The food here is excellent and very reasonably priced. There are vegan and vegetarian options as well which I was super pleased about. I ordered the vegan Nasi Lemak and roti canai and wow, I was blown away by the flavours. The roti is a bit oily but so beautifully flaky and the daal itself is very flavoursome. All the components in the Nasi Lemak were excellent, even down to the rice and I've been craving it ever since I've had it. All the food is cooked by Normah herself so do be kind and patient, it's worth the wait. If you want to dine in, come early! Only thing to avoid is the lemonade - it's just sprite with mint leaves in a small plastic cup and not worth almost £4. Highly recommend if you want an authentic Malaysian food experience.

I have been wanting to go here after reading about this place on Instagram. The hype is real! The food is really delicious!! The laksa was a little different than the one we're used to eating usually at Roti King. This one was a little bit more sour and less sweet. I absolutely loved it!! The sambal fish however it was the clear star! It was crispy and tangy and lip smackingly good. We also ordered the chicken wings those were okay. It was just fried chicken. I guess after all the good food we'd had, I was thinking it might have a secret punch of some kind. I can't wait to come back here to try more of their food!

We didn’t have a reservation but were told to return after 30 minutes and was not disappointment. It was our first time trying their beef redang and prawn laksa (medium spice) and they were both delicious and very rich in flavour. The fried chicken was really tasty and crispy just as anticipated. Overall it was very authentic. I will be returning with more family members and friends.

A hidden gem for authentic Malaysian food, that you’ll leave with your bank account in fact. You can tell this place is legit cause it’s no thrills hidden in the corner of a market. You have to go through a phone shop to get there hahaha. The crispy chicken thigh is some of the best chicken I have ever had. Crispy, tender and full of flavour. Nasi Lemak is so good! As if their homemade roti! Fully recommend.

Hole in the wall, family run restaurant with absolutely delicious and authentic Malaysian food (verified by our Malaysian friends :)). Everything is made to perfection and best to get there earlier to ensure you get your preferred dish. Portion size is also perfect. Can't wait to be back for another meal!

Intimate place and delicious and flavorful food. We didn’t have a reservation but we’re able to be seated immediately at dinner time on a saturday. The king prawn laksa as incredible, and beef rendang was something else!!

I have been meaning to come here for way too long and I will making my return very soon. I ordered roti with dhal and the roti was the flakiest most buttery roti I have ever had. I had some yummy roti in Malaysia but this was another level of tasty. The dhal was good and I really liked the crispy shallots on top as that added so much flavour and crisp. I need to go back to try their beef rendang I also ordered their lemonade with fresh mint, which was so refreshing

Absolutely loved the food! It’s authentic and delicious! Haven’t friend anything as good as this place in the UK! It’s hidden in a small market so could be hard to find! The best family business I’ve been to so far and the waiter, Mohammed, made this experience so much better!

This is a charming little place tucked away in Queensway market. My party of 3 turned up at just past 5 on a Friday evening without booking. The server informed us that the next earliest available table for 3 was at 7, which we took. When we turned up at 7, we waited for maybe 10 minutes before we were seated. We ordered and finished eating within an hour and a half, so the service is quite good and you can expect the food to be out quite quickly after you order. As there was only 1 server, you may have to wait a bit before having your order taken. Food is excellent. The chicken in the Nasi Lemak Crispy Chicken is crispy, tender and flavourful. The Curry Laksa Vegetables and Nasi Goreng Chicken are both good too. My one regret is not trying their Roti as well, as that looked very good. The portion sizes are not too big, so you can easily finish one dish yourself. Overall, very good Malaysian food in the UK. Also good to note this place is Halal as well, with no alcohol served. I would definitely recommend booking before you go to avoid disappointment. They can be very busy and you might not be able to get a table.

Family run, small, cosy cafe in Queensway Market. Amazing authentic Malaysian food. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. We had aubergine asam pedas, roti with dhal and mee goreng vegetables. Will definitely come back to try other dishes for sure!

Nestled within the bustling Queensway Market, Normah's Cafe is a hidden gem that transports you to the vibrant streets of Malaysia with its authentic flavours and warm hospitality. Founded by Normah Abd Hamid, this family-run establishment has been serving up delectable Malaysian cuisine for over two decades. As I stepped into Normah's Cafe, I was immediately enveloped by the tantalising aromas of spices, herbs, and sizzling meats. The cozy interior, adorned with Malaysian décor and warm lighting, created an inviting ambiance. I eagerly perused the menu, which boasted an extensive array of traditional Malaysian dishes, from aromatic curries to spicy noodle plates. I opted for the Prawn Nasi Goreng, a classic Malaysian dish that promised to tantalise my taste buds. Upon its arrival, I was greeted by a vibrant plate of yummy-ness – succulent prawns, fluffy rice, cooked with fresh vegetables, with a sprinkling of crispy fried onions. Each bite was a symphony of flavours, with the savoury prawns perfectly complementing the spicy and aromatic rice. The dish was a delightful balance of textures, with the tender prawns contrasting with the fluffy rice and the crispy onions adding a touch of crunch. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food at Normah's Cafe. The ingredients were fresh and flavourful, and each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail. The prawn nasi goreng was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the vibrant flavours and textures of Malaysian cuisine. The warm hospitality of the staff at Normah's Cafe further enhanced my dining experience. They were attentive and knowledgeable, providing recommendations and answering my questions about the dishes. The friendly atmosphere made me feel welcome and comfortable, as if I was dining in someone's home. Overall, my experience at Normah's Cafe was nothing short of exceptional. The authentic Malaysian cuisine, the warm hospitality, and the inviting atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of Malaysia in the heart of London. I highly recommend Normah's Cafe to anyone seeking an authentic and delicious Malaysian dining experience.

Some of the best Malaysian food in London at great value! Extremely authentic family run restaurant. I've been on 2 occasions and the food was incredible on both! On both occasions we ordered the beef Rendang with roti and prawn Laksa. The Beef rendang is a Malaysian staple and they've do it justice. It's braised beef that is spicy and coconuty that is one of my favourite dishes amongst any cuisine. They serve it with a roti which is in this case a very crispy bread. The prawn Laksa was also great! It's a soupy noodle dish with prawns and tofu and Normah's version is well balanced with flavours and textures. I also love the teh tarik which is a sweet and milky Malaysian tea and would recommend if you like sweet teas. It's a small restaurant so I'd recommend getting a booking if you are planning on visiting. The location is in the back left side of the market which can also be tricky to find but there are signs in the market

Cozy little restaurant inside Queensway Market. Had the Assam Pedas sea bass which had great flavour and portion size. Would also recommend the Laksa and Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang. Atmosphere was very laid-back with home vibes, felt like I was in someone's living room. Service staff was very friendly and cheerful throughout. Would definitely come back again many more times!

I had a high expectation with all these positive reviews but the food was just ok (especially the beef was kind of dry, coconut rice taste plain), had tasted much better elsewhere. Service was good

Delicious, hearty and flavourful Malaysian food with relaxed, friendly service. I went here with a couple of mates and between us we had the roti, sea bass, nasi lemak and laska - all of which I'd recommend.

Fantastic service and amazing food. This is the best and most authentic Malaysian food I have had since I had some in Malaysia! It is situated in a nice cozy corner of Queensway plaza run by Normah herself and her son (I assume?). This will be a regular spot for me and my wife for days to come!

We went to eat at Normah’s for our first time this evening and we left full of delicious food! I was so impressed with the authenticity of the dishes we ordered, as well as the love and care that the waiter and Normah put in to treating their customers. The chicken wings were so crispy and juicy! I’ve never had wings so perfect before. The roti with dahl was such a heart warming dish and our entrees we got were out of this world. I got the nasi goreng with prawn and the flavours were to die for! ❤️ Every bite was full of flavour and I’ll definitely get try it spicier next time! My partner got the vegetarian curry laksa and the flavours were fantastic. We can’t wait to go back!

Ordered the mee goreng king prawn and nasi lemak beef rendang. Really delicious. Just wish that the portion is slightly bigger ☺️ would come back. Definitely recommend a visit if you are near to Hyde Park.

Hidden in the corner as you come in on the left after the ramp. Specific opening times and great mains and some classic Malaysian drinks ❤❤❤ they have nasi lemak. No toilets in the shop. The toilets in the markets not great.. 🙈

Very nice Malaysian restaurant nearby the Bayswater/Queensway underground stations. The food is halal, nearby it has a place to pray too. The food is really good with reasonable price. It feels like home. The staff is friendly too. Do have a try here whenever you’re around this area. I wish I wasn’t too full so that I can try the roti canai.
