Japanese food is always a good choice and Harajuku is an even good...er choice. Tasty and filling food with a large menu to pick from only made better by the hard working and genuinely attentive serving staff. Good job fellas. 🐙🦑🥢 Ichiban Takoyaki!

45 minutes waited after ordering our food to be served, but edamame and seaweed came with the hot miso soup, tempura and fried chicken together. The ridiculous thing was that sashimi came as the last course after all warm foods. When I paid the bill, I kindly reminded the young guy that the order of your dishes was wrong today. The waiter replied arrogantly that this is western style, next time you want to serve cold dishes first, you should tell us. Edamame was too dry today. Tuna Sashimi was not fresh. The flour covered in the tempura is too thick and not crispy. Today is our 2nd time there, and it isn’t very pleasant. This restaurant can't provide the same quality food compared on our first visit last week.

Hands down the best Japanese food in Edinburgh. Lots of vegan options, specials and staples. Highly recommend.

It’s not easy to find great Japanese food in the UK. Harajuku Kitchen is definitely some of the best here. Well executed dishes with authentic taste, and welcoming staff as well.

Nice food!!! The sauce that came for the tonkatsu was especially delicious. My small critisms would be that the rice was on the watery side ever so slightly and also the miso soup was a little bland. The tonkatsu and takoyaki were amazing though and overall, my lunch was great. The restaurant itself has a cozy and friendly vibe, with calm music enhancing that. The staff members were all welcoming too. I will come back to try other dishes!🍙🐙

I came here for dinner and everything about the experience was amazing. The food was phenomenal and our waiter Kirby was lovely. He never left our water glasses empty. I was overwhelmed by all the yummy looking menu items, so asked him for suggestions. Everything he recommended was delicious.

This is one of the BEST Japanese restaurants I have ever been to (and so reasonably priced). The food, service and atmosphere was off the charts! We ordered a Donburi bowl, Salmon Hosomaki, Pork Gyozas & a dragon roll to share. We also had a Roku Gin & a Japanese Old fashioned. Our bill came to £74 including a service charge. The food was so flavoursome. The amount of food we ordered was perfect to share. It wasn't stogdy or heavy. The sushi itself was so fresh tasting, and the rice wasn't over-seasoned. The presentation was also so meticulous and artistic. There were no long waits for food or drink. The service was flawless and the staff were so friendly. I highly recommend this place! I will be back here again.

A new favourite for sure. Everything tasted amazing, highly recommend the aubergine miso starter and any of the sushi (best I've ever had), can't wait to come back. Service was also incredible!

An authentic Japanese restaurant, I have been to their pop up countless times. And the restaurant is fantastic, great menu with large variety. Helpful service giving recommendations. Food was fresh, packed with taste and assembled exquisitely. Makes for a near top of the list Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh

A nice mix of Japanese food with a slight western twist - rich flavours and surprisingly filling. Serving was a bit slow but it might have been because we were a large group of over 20 people. Also happy to find they had Umeshu 梅酒 (plum wine) as an option and genmai tea (玄米茶) to accompany the meal.

This is my first time traveling alone, and eating alone has been extremely difficult for me since it makes me extremely anxious. They do offer takeout, but since I've already been out of my comfort zone by traveling alone, I might as well eat out as well! I've booked a reservation for 3 days, and all 3 days have been nothing more, but perfect! The dinner was very delicious and the waiters were extremely kind and helpful when needed. There are removable paper walls between a few tables, which is quite relieving, especially if there's another couple seated next to you. It makes the experience a little more private for you and less anxious if you're nervous (at least in my experience). It's definitely a recommended place with delicious food and a nice atmosphere! Can't wait to come next time when flying back!

Absolutely Perfect! We visited for my mother's birthday and it absolutely made her day, best birthday lunch we have ever had. The food was incredible, the setting was amazing and Eva and Rich provided the best possible service. This was our first time eating at a Japanese restaurant so Eva kindly helped us navigate through the menu and help us pick the perfect amount of food. Rich was extremely kind, helpful and funny! Couldn't ask for anything more! Thank you.

Food was great. Great service. Do book ahead early though, we had to take a 5:45pm dinner slot as we only decided on the day itself. Highly recommended.

The family love the food here. We've been back numerous times, and its consistently good. The Sushi is excellent but the best thing I have found is the sticky sweet chilli chicken wings. It was quiet when we arrived for a fairly late lunch recently and the service was pretty quick but at busy times the wait for food can be a little long. However staff are friendly and accommodating and it's worth the wait. We will keep going back.

Eva, Rich & Philippe were amazing staff and very patient with us. They have also made some great recommendations for food & drinks. The food was amazing, we had a wonderful evening. We also had a baby with us and this restaurant is family friendly place to go! 😊👍

First time visiting yesterday and so glad I did! What a lovely find! The place was small and minimalistic (in the best kind of way!) but beautiful too. I really appreciated all the little details like the flowers on the table and the chopstick holders. The food was delicious and service was great! Lots of veggie options too which I appreciated. I’ll definitely be back again soon! Thank you Harajuku Kitchen! 🥢🍣

Came here for a nice lunch. Waiter was very attentive but laid back in a good. Was especially helpful recommending us Sake to try - clearly knows his stuff.

We went because we had the Gyosa Pork dumplings at the Sunday Market and they were Amazing! We took two busses and walked in the rain to get there. The tables weren't cleared and there was food left out, everywhere. We waited a good 5-7 minutes for someone to seat us. There wasn't enough staff and two out of the staff we saw were brand new. The pork Gyosa were a pale comparison to the dumplings we had at Market and the Iron noodles were bland and tasteless.

The rolls are big, but yummy. Noodles was great! Amazing presentation. I think it is on the pricy side. The food quality was great and fresh

Finding good Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh is not easy but this one acceptably offers a good choice. With the varieties of sushi dishes, takoyaki and Japanese curry rice, they are alright. One of my friends said it’s his top 3 Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh so you better come and check it out. They have a pop up restaurant at st James as well.

Amazing food, great service, and very well priced, check out the specials board for specials that week. Always something new to try. Well worth a visit.

First time trying this type of food and we really liked it. Waitress was really friendly and took time to explain the menu, so was the male waiter. There was an issue with one of the main courses but that was addressed quickly and with courtesy. Will be back to try other dishes

Delicious British-Japanese sushi at a reasonable price. As an East Asian, it’s still a bit hard to cope with avocado on sushi, even though it tastes good. That’s the reason for the missing star.

👍👍 It's busy, it's tasty and always a nice experience! There is a nice range of flavours infused with spices. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The naan breads with sausages, bacon and eggs were delicious. The only comment I would have is it's so busy and noisy insid...
