I
first
visited
Horseshoe
Lake
in
August
2019
while
training
for
the
Windermere
One
Way;
visiting
this
picturesque
lake
for
another
swim
was
a
pleasure.
Horseshoe
Lake
is
located
in
a
quiet
and
beautiful
part
of
Berkshire,
near
the
Royal
Military
Academy
Sandhurst;
it's
worth
checking
out
their
website
to
find
their
exact
address.
There
is
parking
at
Horseshoe
Lake;
however,
it
can
get
busy,
it's
worth
planning
your
visit
before
you
go.
I
can't
recall
any
dedicated
disabled
parking;
I
sometimes
have
to
make
do
when
I
visit.
The
lake
offers
three
distances
a
200m,
400m,
and
800m
loop.
If
it's
foggy,
they
only
use
the
200m
loop
for
safety
reasons.
The
lake
is
accessible
for
people
with
restricted
physical
abilities;
I
have
to
caveat
that
it's
accessible
for
me
to
use.
Generally,
I
take
my
legs
off
near
the
edge,
get
changed
and
shuffle
into
the
water.
That
works
for
me
anyway;
someone
with
more
restrictions
might
find
it
more
challenging.
The
team
at
the
lake
are
keen
to
help
and
assist
if
required.
It
might
be
worth
contacting
them
before
you
swim
there
if
you
have
any
specific
requirements.
There
is
a
small
cafe,
which
sells
hot
drinks
which
is
perfect
after
a
nice
dip.
