Great walk, dog heaven, lovely coffee shop, free parking, toilets, indoor seating great wildlife. Very busy weekends, Bank Holidays and school holidays, parking can be difficult, walk if you can, although if you come along from Firglen estate way no footpath and road very busy. Nice lot of wintering birds. Can get very muddy after rainfall.

Visited this place during the open day and had amazing time with fiends and family. There is onsite free parking, serene view of lake and walk around the lake. We booked couple of activities and had great fun. Staff was amazingly friendly and prompt to response. We also enjoyed the coffee ☕️ at the on-site cafe.

We went for the Family Weekend Adventure and the best time ever. The team there are fantastic… full of energy and clearly love what they do. Special shout out to Owen who was the standout star for me. He had great knowledge of the activities and tailored his approach to our (admittedly) crazy approach involving lots of splashing about and having what we deemed to be “fun”!. Going in, I was concerned it might be too “serious” but it’s clear the approach by the team is to be led by the group. I imagine it can be a very serious affair if that’s what you choose. Don’t be put off by the price for the Family Weekend Adventure; it’s 7 long activities spread over 2 days with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. Worth every penny and I cannot wait to go again!

Great team and amazing lake. Sometimes it’s tough to park at peak hours but be patient and you’ll get a spot. Surprisingly good food for a small facility! Staff are brilliant, safety conscious but make sure you have a good time.

They charge £12 for the privilege of using your own kayak on the lake. It was also rammed well beyond car park capacity on the day we visited and only through sheer luck that we got a parking spot at all. The lake itself is small and featureless apart from some reasonable wildlife. One lap round is enough although there were quite a few learner paddlers and kids around who seemed to be having fun and I liked that they had a lifeguard on duty in the middle of the lake. Cafe looked decent and it’s probably useful if you want to learn something new, but otherwise it’s too busy and too expensive, would much rather just park up for free in any number of locations and paddle on a river somewhere.

Fantastic hire venue for Standup Paddleboarding. Love the feel of the place, chilled atmosphere and everyone always smiling. Dogs very welcome and allowed to paddleboard with you which is the reason I'm happy to travel some distance to visit. They test for green blue algae to keep us all safe. Free lifejacket with your hire (you need to provide one for your dog - but any sensible dog owner would happily do so anyway). The cafe has tasy food and nice coffee in big mugs! Free parking made even bigger this year and looks like they've plans to further expand in future. All in all a great day out

£12 to launch your own Paddleboard on a lake ! Gone are the days of turning up with your own paddle to go for a leisurely swim and paddle… oh you can’t swim either unless you are part of some club… goto the seaside instead.

Very nice location, good cafe with very wholesome snacks. Tables could do with some umbrellas when the sun's out.

I first visited Horseshoe Lake in August 2019 while training for the Windermere One Way; visiting this picturesque lake for another swim was a pleasure. Horseshoe Lake is located in a quiet and beautiful part of Berkshire, near the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst; it's worth checking out their website to find their exact address. There is parking at Horseshoe Lake; however, it can get busy, it's worth planning your visit before you go. I can't recall any dedicated disabled parking; I sometimes have to make do when I visit. The lake offers three distances a 200m, 400m, and 800m loop. If it's foggy, they only use the 200m loop for safety reasons. The lake is accessible for people with restricted physical abilities; I have to caveat that it's accessible for me to use. Generally, I take my legs off near the edge, get changed and shuffle into the water. That works for me anyway; someone with more restrictions might find it more challenging. The team at the lake are keen to help and assist if required. It might be worth contacting them before you swim there if you have any specific requirements. There is a small cafe, which sells hot drinks which is perfect after a nice dip.

Fabulous water sports activity site. Very popular especially when it’s nice and warm. Only real downside is due to the success parking is a bit of a nightmare, and toilets probably need checking more often on hot days. Would definitely go back and worth travelling too!

Beautiful, peaceful place viewed on a ride on my gravel bike. I’ve lived in Wokingham for 26 years and it’s the first time I’ve been here. Hidden treasure

Great place for a walk around the lake and beside the River Blackwater. Even better is booking a session on/in the water. As an open water swimmer/dipper, I can confirm this lake is well managed, clean and has well marked courses for laps. There is a sandy beach to enter the lake with a gentle gradient. You can book kayaking and paddle boarding courses and they are well organised from the ones I've watched while swimming. There's a cafe on site, so you sit and enjoy the views across the lake and watch the ducks, geese and swans.

What a lovely place. Didn't know it existed. Well kept and welcoming. Scenic picnic spot, great for walkers. Non motorised waters ports. Excellent.

Went here today with my own paddleboard as a total novice. The lady working at the boatshed could not have been nicer, more helpful and kind. We had an absolute blast Paddleboarding as a group of 4, and Sharon took the time out to teach me how to stand up (and fall off lols) The changing rooms are lovely and clean and there are toilets and a cafe (didn't use the cafe). This was a 10/10 experience, and Sharon deserves a massive pat on the back for helping make it so good

Great place to spend a sunny day. Water activities at reasonable prices. The Lake View Italian Cafe has amazing ciabatta rolls and good coffee. Walk around the lake seen heron or kingfisher on the river.

The start of a variety of stunning woodland walks alongside a nature reserve (bird houses looking out over the lakes), a free running clear stream/rivulet accessible to dogs(most of the walks the dogs, if trained, can run off-lead, eventually reaching the Horseshoe Lake Cafe and the water activity centre (both of which are highly recommended).

Always a lovely walk round the lake & along the river. Parking sometimes an issue & has been very busy in the lockdowns. Noticed a new Italian cafe today which had reasonably priced pastries, sandwiches & drinks. Hopefully once outside dining is allowed they will ace some tables & chairs. Good for spotting wildlife & the activity centre offers good choice of activities, lessons & holiday camps.

Lovely afternoon spent on our kayaks. Really easy going staff. Facilities nearby and handy friendly café. Relaxed atmosphere and lovely setting. Kids had lots of fun, already asking to return. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

Absolutely love it here, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. When you need help they are ready and willing. I’ve been three weeks in a row now to do paddle boarding and it’s the highlight of my week. Haven’t used the toilets or changing rooms, so can not comment on them.

A really lovely place. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Summer camps for the kids are very professionally run - fun, safe, educational (huge thanks to all the people who run these). Have also been in Autumn/Spring where it's great fun too (bring a wetsuit and you'll be fine). Only extra comment I would add - they could do with an extra toilet. Overall I highly recommend coming here.

We went for a nice walk around the lake with our dog and some parts would be good for a buggy or wheelchair. Very few puddles considering it rained last night. We had a coffee on the on site cafe which is open 10-4 Mon-Fri and different times on weekend. Worth a visit.

Super place. While the Children have so much fun and learn new skills the adults can have a go too! SUP Yoga is sublime! Great staff and facilities

👍 Lovely little cafe for kids with pre-schoolers with lots do facilities - its not too expensive to come in as you get one free adult for every "walker" and babies are cheap.
