On
the
25/1/22
I
had
a
total
right
hip
replacement.
The
skill
of
Mr.
Abbas
and
the
exceptional
nursing
staff
have
given
me
a
new
lease
of
life.
Thank
you.
I
have
one
concern
of
the
lack
of
help
from
the
physio/occupational
health.
I
left
hospital
on
Saturday
evening
unfortunately
the
tunnel
frame
that
was
supplied
would
not
go
through
our
front
or
internal
doors,
unless
it
was
put
sideways.
This
meant
I
wasn’t
getting
the
support
that
I
needed
when
walking.
I
phoned
the
contact
number
in
the
Total
Hip
Replace
hand
book.
No
answer,
I
phoned
on
Sunday
several
times
no
answer
and
no
message
facility.
I
phoned
the
ward
on
Sunday
and
was
told
there
was
only
one
physio
on
a
Sunday
but
a
message
would
be
given
to
her
explaining
the
difficulties
with
the
door
and
a
request
for
a
commode.
No
response.
I
phoned
the
number
again
from
the
book
twice
on
Monday
morning
no
answer.
When
the
phone
was
answered
at
2.20pm
Monday
by
a
lady
who
said.
‘’
we
can’t
do
anything
once
you
leave
the
ward
our
responsibility
ends.
Try
contacting
the
Red
Cross
or
your
GP.
‘.
I
challenged
this
stating
I
was
shown
how
to
use
the
gutter
frame,
I
am
unable
to
use
it
as
shown
as
the
frame
is
not
fit
for
purpose.
I
hope
my
new
hip
is
not
going
to
get
damaged
because
of
this
fault.
The
lady
wasn’t
interested
in
helping
me
at
all
her
attitude
was
dismissive.
I
stood
my
ground
and
after
20
minutes
and
getting
her
to
give
me
the
details
of
the
supplier
she
spoke
with
a
colleague
who
looked
at
my
record
to
see
what
I
had
been
given.
Her
colleague
found
I
had
not
been
given
the
standard
one
but
a
large
one
so
they
could
order
me
a
smaller
one
which
they
did
and
we
had
to
pick
up.
After
such
a
big
operation
I
could
have
really
done
with
some
support,
instead
I
got
someone
who
wasn’t
interested
in
helping
me.
If
I
hadn’t
persevered
I
would
still
be
struggling
going
through
doorways.
I
haven’t
awarded
any
stars
for
the
aftercare
but
have
awarded
full
stars
and
more
for
the
nursing
staff.
