What a discovery! We were shopping at the short hills mall looking for decent gluten free. This gem was only a ten min drive and TOTALLY worth it. A GF miracle perhaps. Almost everything can be gluten free and lots of vegan. I tried the Mac and cheese and the beyond burger. Kinda like a diner I can eat normal and enjoy even more delish food. The cashier was sooooo nice too. Really lovely experience. We’ll be back! A 5 Yes Joint! -GF listed on menu: Yes -GF buns: Yes -GF sweets: Yes -GF knowledge: Yes -Feel good after eating: Yes!!!

What an amazing place! It isn't in my area or the normal areas that I frequent, so finding this gem was a real treat. I will for sure make an effort to head back to try more of thier menu.

Everything is so delicious! Staff was very friendly. I love that they not only offer plenty of gluten free options, but they also take precautions to prevent cross contamination. The only negative for us was that they offer animal-derived options. Luckily we couldn't smell or see any non-vegan food while we were there. We usually only support fully vegan restaurants, so I'd love to see them go all in. Note to owners: you'd have such a strong following if you did that.

I stumbled upon this place by accident and wasn't sure what it was about because the old diner look was deceiving, but the name made me think "healthy" so I took a chance and parked. There are MANY vegan options, it was hard to decide. I went for the Kale Salad Bowl. It was tasty but a bit salty for my tastes. (And the vegan chocolate chip cookie was too sugary for my tastes too). HOWEVER, because of the EXCELLENT service, I am giving 5 stars. The young lady who took care of me was a sweetheart. She truly shows an interest in her customers and you can tell she is passionate about her job. I will definitely come back some day and try something different on the menu. It's a cute place and they also have outside dining. Prices are very reasonable. And great music.

AMAZING! This new gem is amazing. Customer service A+. My daughter goes to Drew, which the nice gentleman picked up on, and there's a discount for the students. He forgot bc he was engaged in conversation with us, but to make it up, he gave a free dessert. #1 that was amazing he owned up to his mistake. The food was delicious, flavorful, and nice portions. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but honey, that was so good it made me want to go back! Now the cookie we chose was amazing. I def had doubts but they did not miss with that! Can't wait to go back! Hope they are still open on Friday when I head up there. HIDDEN CHICKPEA WELL DONE!

Sooo good!! We had the Brussels sprouts, mushroom chickpea flat and BLT- best tasting bacon! Better than actual bacon. Comes with a side of fries that were crispy and perfect.Park in the stop and shop lot… spots available very close to the Hidden Chickpea.

Nestled in Madison, The Hidden Chickpea proved to be a charming escape on a rainy day. The cozy, modern, green-inspired ambiance, accompanied by fun music, set the perfect tone. Burger - MAD Burger ($14) had an explosion of flavors and textures! The clever use of two smashed Beyond Burger patties brought a unique twist to vegan burgers that I hadn't experienced before. The grilled marks on the bun added a delightful touch. The generous portion of tasty onion relish complemented the patties perfectly, and the melty vegan provolone was a delightful surprise. Kudos to The Hidden Chickpea for their creativity in crafting such an exceptional burger. Fries - The hand-cut fries are a delicious accompaniment, delivering a satisfying crunch and a piping hot serving, though slightly over-salted. Dessert - Gluten-free Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.50): After a scrumptious meal, I couldn't resist trying their gluten-free chocolate chip cookie. Although it was slightly gritty in texture, it didn't deter my enjoyment of its rich flavor. Its ample size made it a delightful treat to end the meal with. The service at The Hidden Chickpea was equally commendable. Griffin, impressed me with his kindness, attentiveness, and patience, enhancing the overall dining experience. For some reason on this day I was nervous about going out to eat by myself. I almost drove away when I got there, but I'm so glad I went in. The Hidden Chickpea proved to be a gem in the Madison area, offering an inviting atmosphere, creative dishes, and wonderful service. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their delectable offerings on the menu.

Excited to have a local place with vegan options! Nice menu choices with very tasty combinations. Unfortunately, the chickpea Flatbread (with fig, arugula, goat cheese) doesn't hold up for takeout. (Not sure if it's more crispy when dining in). Very nice flavors, but it was more like polenta in texture. The oyster mushroom sandwich was great, as were the Brussel sprouts. A menu such as this represents high quality food and a low quality item like a Beyond Burger just doesn't belong.

We ordered the Chickpea Burger with sides of kale salad and the Mac N Cheese and everything was delicious! It was so flavorful and all made with fresh ingredients. A welcome addition to Madison and highly recommend trying them!

Really flavorful food, a great place for brunch. All the food came out great. Just finished an 8 mile hike, looking for some food on a Sunday lunchtime. So pleased they were open. They recently opened in Madison. The menu was totally unique, something for everyone (you can even add meat and real cheese if desired). Topaz, our server was great, she guided us through the menu and made some recommendations as there were 3 of us and we wanted to share everything. The Nachos were our favorite. We will be back.

This is a great hidden gem in Madison. Lots of healthy vegetarian and vegan options, which appeals to me, but you don't have to be either to enjoy their delicious food. Fresh, nice presentation, staff is courteous. Thumbs up!

I'm very impressed that a vegan/vegetarian restaurant offers meat as an option -- cooked separately. This is nice so you can go out with a meat eater. I have ordered three different offerings and it's all been fantastic. The people are nice and accommodating too.

I am a regular customer of the Hidden Chickpea. I love going there - the service is always excellent, the food is amazing, and their iced-tea and lemonade drinks are enough of a reason to make the trip. Prices are reasonable too... Only ding i can give them is that its not obvious that the closest parking is in the Stop & Shop next door. But once you figure that out, its easy to park and walk less than a half-block to the restaurant...

Absolutely delicious. We had the Garbanzo Burger and the Philly cheesesteak with a kale side salad. So happy to have found this gem.

The Hidden Chickpea is wonderful! The chickpea and fig is my favorite open pita sandwich. Delicious, filling, and oh so good! And the portions are wonderful. You will not walk away hungry! It’s nice to have a vegan restaurant in town, and you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy it. Everything is delicious! Be careful not to miss it. It’s located across the street from the Junior School, next to the cemetery, and housed in an adorable trailer. Just perfect!
