Minnesota has one of the most beautiful capitols in the country. The tours are excellent and it is the People's Capitol so feel free to come visit.

Do not miss visiting the Minnesota capitol. The building is amazing and the history it tells is a must do when visiting St. Paul Minnesota. You can do a free tour where a guide is telling you a lot of facts about the building, the people who worked here and the ones who still work here. You can experience the history of the government here better then any where else. Secret tip: visit the capitol when the sun is down for a walk around the capitol garden.

One of the prettiest capitol buildings I have been to (and I'm on a mission to see them all). Not only in the exterior in increible condition with a majestic golden statue, but the interior is unbelieveable. Marble columns and staircases. Exquisite paintings on ceilings. Colorful rotunda. I sound pretentious but this place was so cool to walk through. They even offer tours.

🌲🏛️ Greetings, fellow explorers! The Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul is a majestic marvel. The guided tour took me on a captivating journey through history, sharing fascinating stories and showcasing stunning artwork. The Rotunda's murals were breathtaking, and the observation deck offered panoramic views of St. Paul's charm. The friendly staff made the experience even more delightful. Don't miss this architectural gem and its rich heritage. 🏛️🌆🎨✨

Great tour. Free but donation suggested. The tour offers the rich history of the art and architecture of the building. You enter the Supreme Court and the House of Representatives gallery. The best part is going on the roof to see quadriga up close and great views of the city. The Rathskeller os pretty unique, too. When the legislature is in session, they serve food, and it’s open to the public.

Had a couple hours to spend in Saint Paul and had a great time checking out the Capitol building. There are frequent donations based tours and the architecture is just incredible. Be sure to check out the basement if you’re a history buff!

One of the most beautiful state capitols in the US. It seats on top of the hill and overlooks the city downtown. It was designed by the famous architect Cass Gilbert. It’s impressive with a golden statue on top of the dome.

This is a great capitol to your. After having visited 40 other capitols, Minnesota's makes it in the top ten best capitols to visit. The tour guide was great and we learned a lot. Other staff was friendly and suggested things to do in the area. We parked for free on the far side of Sears (street parking) for free and walked a few blocks in. The coolest part was going on the roof!

I love this building so much, absolutely gorgeous. Tour provided by extra-curricular program, and the marble columns and painted murals would make a beautiful accent to a senior picture. Sitting in the judicial, senate and house chambers was beyond sensational (and getting to press buttons in the house chamber!!! [not normally included in tours, got to do it because of the program I was there with]). When I visited the Capitol last spring, we were able to make it onto the roof and get up close to the golden horses. Would recommend. Tours were great in both instances.

The Minnesota State Capitol likely has the most impressive dome in the western hemisphere. The gold sculpture at its base is striking from any distance. The building as a whole, set atop a hill, is beautiful. I've never been so impressed by a government building!

Just like many state capitols and other public buildings in the United States were built in the Beaux-Arts style, including the Minnesota State Capitol. If you are an art person, you will probably be intrigued by the extensive use of symmetrical composition and formal axial planning. When I visited the capitol building with the Minnesota Fulbright Chapter, we took a guided tour that highlighted its stunning architecture, exquisite features, and historical significance. The Capitol building houses the Minnesota House of Representatives, the Minnesota Senate, and the governor of Minnesota's office.

The renovated capitol is so worth the time to visit. Our family of five took the free 45-minute tour and it was enjoyed by all of us - adults and teenagers. The history and artwork depicted throughout the capitol building is very impressive. We really loved the Civil War paintings in the Governor's reception room and the paintings in the Supreme Court chambers. Recommend to start with a tour and then take a self-guided tour to enjoy the paintings, history and sculptures on all floors at your own pace.

The MN state capitol building is gorgeous! The tours are free and the guilds are very knowledgeable and friendly. The building has so many fascinating details, symbolism, and stories. Truly a work of art and meaning as well as a functional facility! Girl scouts had an event in the rotunda and everything loved it.

Went here as a chaperone for 6th graders and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was very informative. We loved that we were able to go on the roof and be next to the horses. Thanks for giving such a great experience.

Great 45 min tour! They start at the top of every hour when they're open. I hadn't been there in over 20 years. Tours are handicap accessible except for the roof access to golden horses/chariot/quad-thing (forgot the name of it).

Beautiful piece of history and first state capitol I’ve been. Also sometimes titled the most beautiful state capitol. Breathtaking art and design all over the building. There are guided tours at the start of every hour and they’re a little better than the self-guided tour since they let you inside the different rooms and into the roof by the gold statue if the weather’s good, which gives a good view of the city and the cathedral.

The dome is inspired by the dome of St. Peter's basilica, a fitting tribute to another giant of the Catholic faith. The building offers tours and is a great place to visit. You can great stunning views of the city from the dome.

I visited here on a Saturday. There is a parking lot on the north-east side of the building if you struggle finding street parking. An employee walked us through the building. Explained everything. Loved that. A beautiful and majestic building

Got the chance to visit the Capital for ECFE day at the Capital. The kids really enjoyed our trip, walking around the building and seeing all the fun architecture

Hailed as one of the best Capitol buildings of US, the architecturally beautiful edifice houses the house of representatives, the supreme court and numerous collections of artifacts to illustrate the state's glorious past and current identities. The free guided tour at the top of the hour is very enriching and highly recommended.

This place looks even more beautiful after the renovations. Awesome tours and tour guides, that give you very real and honest information. Great for a Sunday afternoon escape from the heat and a walk into the past.

We did a self guided tour here after getting the boys state capitol books stamped. Although we have seen the building prior from the outside, this was our first trip inside. We we're lucky enough to meet a young lady that allowed us up to the speaker's seat in the Representatives section! We just had to make sure the boys didn't slam the gavel down 😁

I actually came here a while ago, maybe like several years ago because there were some renovations going on. Overall it is a very beautiful building, very nice architectural style. I did not do the guided tour, but thinking about it now, I probably should have.
