My
son
Joshua
has
attended
Camp
Courageous
for
the
past
three
years
without
any
issues.
However,
on
Tuesday,
he
had
a
meltdown
and
the
camp
called
me
to
come
pick
him
up.
I
was
frustrated,
hurt,
and
angry.
The
camp
told
me
that
they
would
call
me
back
in
5
minutes
after
talking
to
the
director,
but
it
took
them
45
minutes
to
call
me
back.
When
I
arrived
at
the
camp,
Joshua
was
in
bed,
thinking
that
everything
was
okay.
He
had
brushed
his
teeth
and
put
on
his
pajamas
after
watching
the
fireworks.
He
was
devastated
when
he
learned
that
he
was
being
kicked
out
of
camp.
The
camp
director
told
me
that
Joshua
had
had
issues
last
year,
but
he
could
not
explain
why
I
had
not
been
called
or
why
this
information
was
not
in
Joshua's
after-camp
summary.
I
believe
that
the
camp
lied
to
me
about
Joshua's
past
experiences
at
camp
in
order
to
justify
kicking
him
out
for
his
disability.
Joshua
cried
the
entire
way
home.
I
am
still
waiting
for
a
call
from
the
camp
director,
but
I
have
not
heard
back
yet.
I
am
disappointed
that
Camp
Courageous
would
discriminate
against
my
son
and
I
will
not
be
sending
him
back
to
this
camp
again.
Update:
I
did
speak
with
someone
at
the
camp
I
appreciate
them
listening
it
still
doesn't
make
a
situation
that
was
handled
poorly
better.
As
a
mom
it's
the
worse
feeling
in
the
world
to
try
to
fix
a
hurt
that
you
didn't
cause.
He
loves
Camp
Courageous
but
I
still
wouldn't
feel
comfortable
ever
taking
him
back.
Because
I
need
to
know
that
I
can
trust
in
the
people
I
leave
my
child
with
and
that
trust
was
broken
when
I
was
openly
lied
to
about
the
previous
year
when
camp
records
do
not
align
with
what
I
was
told
yesterday.
