Love coming here for hikes! You can go up via the trail or the paved road to get to the top. The trail gets narrow at times and there's some spots with lots of rocks, so you have to watch your step for sure. Def not a jogging trail! The main parking lot is always packed, but there's another down the main road, on the left. People are generally friendly and will give a head nod or wave in passing. When I'm alone, I don't tend to wear a mask, but if I'm with a friend, we both will wear one. There's no rule or anything though. Some who bring their dogs don't pick up after them [you know who you are!], but most do, and they're always on a leash. There's a welcome center at the base [I've never gone inside] as well as a few picnic tables under a big gazebo type wooden structure. Oh, and great views from the walk up and once you've got to the top! I posted some pics from diff days.

Only 5$ for parking and can be handled online/ QR code or free with the national park pass. I took the 'short' path that went straight up the side. Definitely recommend proper shoes. Its a steep workout. Rocks and roots will getchya. Most of the trail i took up was shaded luckily.. I decided to walk down the paved road- opting out of roots and rocks- i enjoyed the peaceful stroll down with amazing views! Cars drove by respectfully. Restrooms in the visitor were well kept. Make required if you're not fully vaccinated.

One of my favorite National parks to go to. A great park to live by and encourage you to walk/hike weekly. Plus the snow this year was amazing to see at the peak.

This place is nice! There is a lot of history which I like. The mountain isn't too big, so it doesn't take forever to go up and down. There are a lot of trails to walk and also a way to drive up to. Overall very cool.

First time here. The trails were awesome. Such a good place for walking/hiking. Great exercise and beautiful nature scenery. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3.5 mile walk. So many different trails to try. I'll be back to try other trails.

We only had about an hour to spend here but enjoyed the museum. I really like the battle field log with the cannon balls embedded in them, very cool. Didn't have enough time to hike too far, but the trails looked very nice from what we saw.

Great mountain, with views at every turn. Either walk through the forest or hike to the top of the mountain roughly 1000ft elevation and 1.5mile road up and enjoy the view of Atlanta. Bathrooms are available at the welcome center.

Going up the mountain to the summit and back, this is a nice hike for beginners or an easy day hike. Only a mile up and its not too difficult. There is a nice view of the city skyline from the top. Well maintained trials and a nice visitors center with clean bathrooms at the bottom. Be sure to pay for parking online or in the visitors center before heading up!

Historical places are always a great place to find inspiration and reflection. There were some interesting lessons here along the self guided trails. Lots of walking and running, and families spending time together, while engaging in discussions about nature and history. We will co.e and spend more time here on our next trip to Atlanta.

Nice battlefield and history at this National Park. Great hiking trails. Neat gift shop. Refill water bottles at the visitor center prior to going on your hike. Dog friendly! You can see for several miles from certain areas along the trails.

A great place to visit if you are local or visiting. Need a workout? Walk or hike the mountain.. Want a moment to think during a busy day? Just drive to the top, sit down and look at the view.

Restrooms are clean. Walk up the mountain is fairly easy with some short spurts of mild difficulty. For the most part people are respectful and friendly. Nice views as you walk up.

You should not have to pay to go outside. You should not have to pay to see a "National Monument". You should not pay to visit a place where others died for their country. For 84 years, people have been visiting the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park in the millions, enjoying at no cost almost 3,000 acres of nature. A place where they said they would not continue to build homes around, yet they have. Shame goes to Park superintendent Nancy Walther for demanding visitors pay a $5 parking fee. I walk the trails here all the time. They are kept up very well and vary from easy to a little bit of a challenge, depending on which one you choose. Additionally, there are always a good amount of other walkers on the trails so I feel safe if I am out walking by myself.

Sundays best workout ever. At the peak of the day it was beautiful & amazing to see the skyline from the top of the mountain. Especially when it was storming thru the entire city. Enjoyed my climb with nature's best...

They seem quite apologetic and even celebratory of confederate war nostalgia, under the guise of "history". This is evidenced by their various monuments and historical markers that attempt to subtley depict the losing pro-slavery racist condederates as heroes whose deeds are somehow worthy of respect or rememberance. Utter gaslighting nonsense. A better monument would be to the countless slaves that were forced to undergo neverending unpaid labor under horrible conditions for their entire lives, to the sole benefit of the ruthless, unenlightened brutal confederates.

Really nice trails that are varying levels of difficulty. We haven’t had a chance to do a lot of them, but I love that there are a range of trails to choose from. We have used our jogging stroller on the Kolb Farm Trail Loop and haven’t had too much of an issue with the terrain. Some areas were steep, but manageable. FYI: watch your step! Last summer, I almost stepped on a large copperhead snake as it was sunning itself ON THE TRAIL!

My favorite place to hike in the ATL metro area! Great hike for anyone looking for a challenge and beautiful views. The mountain has several different trails for every hiker. A steeper and less slippery hike then Stone Mountain.

Very nice hikes with options for easier or more difficult hikes through historic battlefields. I wish there was a guided tour available maybe through my phone so I could be immersed in what was happening during the civil war.

Hiked the summit trail when I went here. It was a nice hike...not too difficult and great views of the surrounding area, sometimes even out to the Atlanta skyline if it's not cloudy or hazy out. Only giving 4 stars because you have to pay $5 for parking now...when I went it was free parking.

Visitor center is really nice. Has a short film about the battle I found pretty touching. They have a first rate museum with a lot of items that are significant to the battle and Sherman’s campaign to capture Atlanta. There did not seem to be a lot in the way of interpretation on most of the trails other than a few plaques, but the visiting the “Dead Angle” and knowing what happened there is a really sobering experience.

Very nice historical site, and a good hike. Some of the trails are many miles long and loop the entire mountain, go all the way down the mountain and to another park, loop one peak, loop the other peak, there’s a kid friendly trail, the straight up trail (one of the shorter ones but still difficult due to rocks) and smaller trails around the field in the front. Canons all around, we even saw one with a bird in its nest in the inside! So cute. The visitors center is closed due to corona, but definitely a cool place. Been coming here for years.

There’s not a lot of parking so try to go when it’s not too busy. The view from the top is great. It’s one of the coolest views of the Atlanta skyline, and you can see Stone Mountain off in the distance as well. The hike is short and easy.

I enjoyed being here, is a beautiful place to visit, I recommend bringing a map because the trails are not marked, and you can do short and long hiking. Take like 45 minutes for each hiking trail. Another piece of advice is if you have trekking poles are very useful 👌

I enjoyed my first mountain hike! It was challenging, but I felt great that I completed the hike. The staff in the visitor center were attentive and very helpful. Unfortunately, we did not have time to see the 40 min movie, but plan to go back and see the other sites in the park.

Note: this location now requires a fee. However: it is lovely, crowded without being overcrowded, and fun to explore. Come and see wild deer within 10 feet of humans! But do not feed them. Rumors have it, wild deer become vampires if fed by humans.

What a great way to celebrate the afternoon, exercise in the fall weather and learn about some local history.
