So Tasty!!! 1st class all the way!!! WOW what a great experience. Dinner was superb, the room is beautiful and very romantic, everyone was dressed to the nines (men be sure to wear a jacket and you will feel most comfortable with a tie, ladies dress to impress). Lots of famous people were there and the place was packed. Not an open seat on a Wednesday night. Be sure to get reservations. For great apps we suggest the figs with prosciutto which is sliced thicker than in other joints and makes it taste great, also loved the artichoke heart carpaccio (thinly sliced and yummy) with poached qual eggs. that is a great taste combo. Also love the smoked salmon blini with caviar which was delicate and flavorful. For the main courses you cannot go wrong with the HUGE soufflés'. We had the mushroom which was really good and filling even though it was as light as a cloud. She had the lobster Raviolis with the Bruere Blanc sauce which is a light white sauce full of flavors. For dessert you cannot go wrong with any of the soufflés. We had both the pistachio and the grand Marnier and both was super good. We also had the Crepes Flamed Orange medallions with Grand Marnier which were very good. We did not take any food photos because it was a bit too high class for me to be schlepping photos at the table, but I wish I had so you could see how pretty each dish looked. This place pays attention to the details and that is why it has been one of the city's best restaurants for nearly 60 years. This is a winner with 2 thumbs way up. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 7 million views in 2021, over 13 million views in the first 6 months of 2022 and we thank you for that. We don't get paid, we just love to eat. Be sure to click on "RobH" at the top of this review to see all of them and to follow us if you like good food and FUN.

Absolutely the most romantic dinner experience my wife and I have had. From the moment we entered the restaurant being greeted by the maître d’ and shortly afterwards by the owner. Truly a 5⭐️ Experience that I will never forget. The owner serenaded us with a Beautiful French song and made us fill as if we dinned with them every night with the treatment we received. I will never forget 2/14/2022 as long as I walk this earth. Tonight was the most memorable night we have ever had. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to all the amazing staff that made this memory that will forever bring a smile upon my face.

Did not know what to expect. There were like 5 people at the door when we entered. We were seated at a small table facing the band area. A little odd was the table light and the cord running between my wife and me. We did the 3 course price fix;186$ I think. Service was attentive. Ordered oysters, shrimp with caviar 30$ extra and split pea soup all was outstanding and very tasteful. Dinner was lobster ravioli and so we sole (sole was filet table side). Both were outstanding as well. Desert was Grand Marnier soufflé and fruit tart. Wow really recommend the soufflé very good. They brought the soufflé with a candle for our occasion. A jazz trio was on stage and the owner sang Sinatra style before a very talented French female singer started. Very very good. The owner seems to want to be a showman lol. A little loud for such a small place as the music made it hard to talk. Over all very nice.

Everything was excellent. The execution in the kitchen couldn't have been better. The food is traditional French and it doesn't try to innovate, it simply nails what it sets out to do. The foie gras terrine was the best I ever had. The ambiance is fancy, with large mirrors, candelabra, and flower bouquets. The service couldn't be more on top of the table. I wasn't aware jackets were required, and they provided one with a smile. The prix fixe is a good deal with plenty of food, and very filling. Definitely fit for a grand celebration, but I'd say it's expensive otherwise.

La Grenoille lives up tp it's billing!! The food was delicious, skillfully prepared and wonderfully presented with dish looking like a piece of artwork on the plate. My absolute favorite offering that night was the "Pan Seared Foie Gras...buttery, sumptuous and decadent. The waitstaff was polished, professional and pleasant...entertaining even at times. The decor is like the food artful, whimsical, sumptuous even and very elrgant and the overall atmosphere quite peaceful and relaxing Did I like this place? Hell yeah. Would I go back? Are you kidding? Trying to figure out how to take up residence there😜

La Grenouille opened in 1962, and it has been ranked high among the best restaurants in Zagat New York over the years. This is a high-end traditional French restaurant with an elegant and warm environment. Many big movie stars and fashion designers have visited there: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Paul Newman, Madonna, Sophia Rowland, Woody Allen, Elton John... It’s full of flowers and gives you very romantic feeling. The restaurant is quite which makes you better enjoy your foods. The waiters are very experienced and somehow old-fashioned. It’s a great experience having meal there.

DISHONEST BACKSTABBERS. I had dinner here with my husband before a show. I had dined here before so I thought it was a safe bet. We walked in, the room as usual was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. We ordered our food: split pea soup, onion grantinee soup, a seafood medley, minute steak and a passionfruit souffle. First, the onion soup was lukewarm and tasteless with a scant amount of onions. My husband's soup was good. His seafood medley was very good. My minute steak was beige and cold. Thoroughly unappealing. The onion rings were cold as were the potato strings. Finally the passion fruit souffle, which didn't resemble or taste like a souffle at all. Maybe custard powder? Doesn't matter. The kicker was when the bill came. Now, I had checked many of the reviews prior to arriving so I paid careful attention to the bill, to ensure there were no "discrepancies ". Sure enough, an overcharge appeared for the souffle, $45 instead of $33. I whipped out my phone to check the menu on Google to confirm my suspicions and I was correct:$33 for the souffle. We discretely pointed this out to the waiter who scurried off with our credit card. It took way to long to come back, but sure enough, he came back and told us he "adjusted the price"...to $31. We paid the bill and I went to the restroom and as I was coming out I could hear two of the staff talking about us looking at the menu and checking the price. Really? Do not go here. The food has gone down, and there is a vein of dishonesty/snobbery and slickness running through this place. There are far better choices in NYC than La Grenouille, trust me....

Incomparable restaurant for a special ocassion/ date with your partner (but be prepared to spend a lot!). Le Granouille’s ambiance is incredibly elegant, romantic, and luxurious. The service was amazing but a little rushed (probably because we went in at 8:30 and closing was at 10- would recommend going earlier). There was live jazz which was amazing. There was only one option for food (one two or three step menu). The lamb chops and the lobster appetizer were my favorite, although the salmon and the beef tartar were also very good. The desserts were good although I wish we would have spent extra and gotten the souffle! 10/10 evening, though I probably wont be back soon because of the very high prices.

Our evening at Le Granule, the crown jewel of New York City’s French dining scene, was nothing short of magical. Hosted by the inimitable Philippe Masson, whose warmth and charisma only added to the ambiance, we were treated to an unforgettable performance that was as much a feast for the senses as the delectable dishes we savored. Philippe’s passion for culinary artistry was evident in every bite, and the service was exemplary and attentive without being intrusive. The decor, with its stunning floral arrangements, created an atmosphere of elegance and charm that perfectly complemented the exquisite meal. An evening at Le Granule is a symphony of flavors, hospitality, and joie de vivre, orchestrated by the talented owner and fantastic performer Philippe Masson

Exceptional in every way! The decor makes you believe you’ve been transported to Paris - so many gorgeous fresh flower arrangements, dim lighting, posh red cushy seating, pristine white linen table settings, exquisite French cuisine, impeccable service, and divine presentations - we enjoyed frog legs, oysters, Dover sole, cheese and chocolate soufflés. Came back another evening for after theatre nightcap in their small elegant bar. Two tables set up for elegant outside dining, too.

Fairy tale restaurant that leaves you feeling like a princess transported to Europe. They make a mean cosmo and the meal and desert was delicious plus on point service. Can’t wait to go back. Merci.

If you want to have a unique experience and to know how this place became famouse you must visit it and its history. La Grenouille is an iconic restaurant located on East 52nd Street in New York City and Founded in 1962 by Gisèle Masson, the restaurant quickly gained popularity among celebrities and food connoisseurs and Grenouille quickly became a beloved institution. Over the years, the restaurant has hosted a long list of luminaries, including Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Mick Jagger, and Salvador Dali. The walls are adorned with photos of these famous guests, and their presence can still be felt throughout the restaurant today. Today, La Grenouille continues to thrive under the guidance of Charles and Gisèle's son, Philippe Masson. Philippe maintains the classic menu that his father created and is committed to preserving the restaurant's timeless elegance and exquisite cuisine. He oversees the beautiful floral displays that have become a signature of La Grenouille and learned the art of fine dining at a young age, honing his skills at esteemed establishments such as Le Notre, Fauchon, and The Plaza Athenee. The restaurant's interior is a beautiful blend of classic and modern styles, with elegant chandeliers, crisp white tablecloths, and soft lighting creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu features classic French dishes such as escargot, foie gras, and lobster bisque, as well as modern takes on traditional favorites like the roasted duck breast with figs and port wine reduction. One of their most famous dishes is the lobster pasta, a must-try for any seafood lover. La Grenouille is a testament to the enduring power of love and dedication, and the importance of passing down traditions from one generation to the next. The restaurant's timeless elegance and exquisite cuisine continue to attract a devoted following, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in New York City. The staff is attentive and friendly, making guests feel right at home. Whether you are a long-time fan of La Grenouille or visiting for the first time, you are sure to be swept away by the restaurant's charm and sophistication.

Just happened to walk by and decided to go in for dinner. While reservations are usually always necessary, the owner was able to accommodate us. The restaurant is stunning and it takes you back to old school New York with heavy fabrics, fresh flowers everywhere and candlelight. The multi-course meal was fantastic as was the service! Definitely our new favorite and we will be returning on our next visit to NYC.

Wow so so special. My family and I ate a late dinner at La Grenouille and it was truly incredible. We love French food and this exceeded our expectations. The service was top notch, food was excellent and the owner is so personable and sang with the band and the piano. Our night was unforgettable and we cannot wait to go back again! Thank you La Grenouille!

Every experience we’ve had here has been nothing short of incredible. The staff is exceptional, the food is great, and the atmosphere is divine. Highly recommend! (Save room for the soufflé - you won’t want to share)

Incredible place, signature souffles which you must try. The wine selection, the deserts, the appetizers and the mains - everything is perfect. Don't forget your jacket, there is a dress code. Otherwise they will borrow you one - they have it in all sizes.

PLEASE READ UNTIL THE END. The food overpriced, everything else was okay though. We paid, I asked for my receipt back so I can keep a copy with me. And when they bring me the copy of my receipt I realize that they wrote down 100$ More on tip on my receipt without my authorization and they signed for me. When the server bring the copy he was aware that we will see what they have done so he try to start a conversation with me and try to take the conversation to avoid the situation of the receipt. You know what’s funny? The lady of the table right I front of me was going the same situation with her check at the same time. Conclusion? PEOPLE when you give you check back to this guys they add more money to they own Tip! And they sign for you!!! Be careful try to avoid this place at all. You guys are scammers. Ilegal way to make money. Dirty way to charge people without their permission.

Fabulous evening! The service was impeccable (elder French waiter who had amazing stories), the food delicious (expect a very traditional French menu but everything is at it should be), and amazing ambiance with live Jazz. Only thought the cocktails were disappointing – very much a shame for a place like this!

La Grenouille was an experience my wife is still smiling about 3 days later. I’ve only been to Paris once but this restaurant brings us right back there. The live music was incredible and so was the service/atmosphere in this restaurant. Everyone there was dressed for the occasion which added to the experience. The food was also very good, but I’m not sure it was worth what they charged per person. My guess is some of cost with the food is tied to the entertainment but we were fine with that. This is not a place you go monthly, but for a splurge meal it is well worth the money.

Truly a romantic and fancy experience. From the menu to the ambience to our server who was very polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for the best date night, especially if you want to one up your significant other. From the moment I walked in being greeted by 2 hosts and walked up to our table where they had flowers and gave my girlfriend a note saying happy anniversary as I asked.
