This was our first trip to Foothills, but it will not be our last. Andrew did a wonderful job of walking us through all the menus, we enjoyed cocktails and a few little "tastes" even before dinner. We got the truffle fondue and cleaned the bowl. I had the rib special, she had the salmon. Then we couldn't help but get dessert (carrot cake and dark chocolate mousse). Absolutely worth the drive from Knoxville!

Had dinner here tonight based on reviews by others, and let me tell you, it’s everything it’s cracked up to be. Everything from the food to the staff was top notch. We were fortunate to have Michael as our waiter. He was extremely helpful with steering us in all the right directions with our appetizers and our main courses. Scallops, to die for. Steaks, to die for. Shrimp and grits, to die for. Can’t say enough good things about this place. We will be returning for sure!

We celebrated my husband’s birthday. This was the 3rd time we ate dinner there. We live in Lenoir City and have explored other options in Knoxville for a “white table cloth” experience and this so far is our favorite. You receive a complimentary appetizer from the chef and wonderful sour dough and herbal bread. Before your main course you get a lovely lemon sorbet to “cleanse your palate”. The beef cheeks are the best. Desserts are homemade. Standards of service and quality of food are very high!

Mixed feelings. We came in for a casual dinner. The place aspires for fine dining but let’s get one thing clear: fine dining and southern food with a lot of fried food are two different things, and they don’t really go together. Trying to combine them is a recipe for failure and that’s what happened tonight. Our appetizers were very tasty though quite heavy: goat cheese tart and green fried tomatoes were seasoned well and served quickly. The seasoning on both was similar though which says something about the chef. Before the entrees, we were served a palette cleansing sorbet, which was impressive and proves that the place at least is trying for fine dining. The entrees: NY strip and duck two ways were underwhelming on many levels: first of all, far under seasoned (rosemary and garlic on beef is nice but only if combined with the correct amount of salt; the duck was blunt and the white meat part far too pink for me, I couldn’t eat it; personally, I’d suggest smoking the duck first and using more salt to eliminate any funky after flavors); also, even though I told them I don’t like lukewarm food, that pink duck came out lukewarm. Secondly, heavy protein like duck or beef should be balanced out with lighter sides like fluffy potato or parsnip purée. Instead, I was served with under seasoned grits and my husband’s beef with Mac and cheese; both were far too heavy for us. My other side: broccolini, was too hard (undercooked!). Finally, they said they have espresso but what they served us wasn’t espresso; it was watered down coffee (basically Americano). I suspect that different chefs make appetizers and entrees, hence such a different experience. Also, my old fashioned was watered down or it didn’t have enough liquor; it’s unusual around here, so I was a little disappointed. Overall, I’d like to come back sometime to try some other dishes (mainly seafood), but their execution of meat wasn’t as amazing as I’d expect for almost $200 for a dinner for two in TN.

My husband & I celebrated our 44th anniversary here tonight after a recommendation to dine here. We were NOT disappointed!! The food was well prepared, the most delicious steaks we’ve ever had! Highly recommend the Steak & Potatoes and Steak Oscar. Appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes & dessert of Red Velvet Cheesecake cannot be missed. Our server, Jordan, gave exceptional service and was very knowledgeable of the dishes. Thank you for this delightful meal experience and making our celebration so memorable!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Came here the first time a few years ago. My wife and I had came in after a hike without knowing this was a high end dining experience. We were unaware that reservations were required and we're definitely under dressed. The staff were incredibly accommodating and offered to let us dine at the bar even though we were clearly not prepared to be there. The hospitality of the staff that night sold us on the love this business has for both their customers and their craft. Here we are two years later, with reservations, dressed for the occasion and still very much impressed with the experience here. The tenderness and preparation of the filet here is by far the best I've had. Always appreciate when a pallet cleanser is offered before courses to ensure great flavor senses from start to finish (even the blue cheese ice cream). We've dined all over from specialty steak houses, to several 5 star and Michelin star restaurants but this place is always a treat. The portions are fair for this class of dining, the flavor profiles are well balanced and they have great options to choose from. The bar staff does a great job with drinks here by not cheating the customer with stingy pours but doesn't cheat the business with over pours either. Very fair and very balanced all the way around. Great job making my family feel welcome here and sending us our way with the want to return soon. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Heard about this place from a friend and how good it was. We went to Cades Cove and had made reservations here about a week prior. The synopsis is pretty simple. It was amazing. The service, the drinks, the food…all amazing. My girlfriend said it’s best meal she’s ever had. She had the steak Diane and I had the London Broil. I’d say it’s definitely up there with the best I’ve ever had as well, if not the best ever. Can’t wait to return. Thanks ya’ll for a wonderful experience.

Food is fantastic absolutely worth the price. Steaks are prepared souvide and amazingly tender and delicious. I love that they tell you on the menu how it's gonna be cooked ie medium rare. So you don't ruin what the chef is putting out. The meat loaf with braised short rib inside was legendary. The bread that they give you to start off sets the mood that this kitchen knows exactly what it is doing. We ordered a few drinks I would highly recommend that cherry burbon sour. It's fine dining expect 30-50 a head. Again worth it, sometimes you go for a fancy meal and think I could have saved myself the money but no joke this place is worth every penny and I would go here over Ruth Chris, Morton's or any other steak house and the proce ia better. I love that the plates also come with amazing delicious sides. Added a picture of the cobbler and drinks. If you are celebrating, treating yourself or just want a fantsic meal don't overlook this gem in Maryville.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We were extremely impressed with their menu options with a separate vegan menu. Our server Hannah N. was fabulous! The atmosphere was very relaxing. Side note- the bread and oil is simply amazing and one of our favorite parts!

Great, unforgettable farm to the table experience. Pricey? Maybe, but for quality of served food it's not. Definitely a place to be. All started with "amuse bouche" - chef's invitation, fantastic; and later on between courses "palate cleanser sorbert"- another chef's surprise. As an appetizer " spicy fried quail "- simply the best. Freshly baked southern bread- soft and delicious but different so don't expect it to be crispy and warm. Main dishes: Oscar Steak and Farm Duck 2 ways - can't beat it. Josh our server is rewarded with 10 stars: his presentation, social approach, mannerisms ,all so perfect addition to this dining event. Lastly a note for thought to the chef: in a duck dish changing broccoli for grilled carrots/ zucchini with few slices of peaches/ apples could be a better pairing. Contrary the grits was delicious to as far as I don't like grits at all, this was another chef's postive surprise . Thank you. Absolutely wil return.

We visited for our anniversary based on the strong recommendations from the Knoxville Eats group, and FMC did NOT disappoint. Our server Zoe was phenomenal and the food and atmosphere was great! We shared several appetizers, the truffle fondue, goat cheese tart, and curried meatballs. and shared the entree of ribs....everything was wonderful!

Everything was so delicious! We had the goat cheese tart, truffle fondue, my husband had the tempura lobster(no pic sorry) and I had the steak Diane. Highly recommend!!! Make a reservation and take your time. Perfect dinner date place 🥰

My husband and I just enjoyed our anniversary (and first time dining) at the Foothills Milling Company. We had the fried green tomato’s, Caesar salad, wedge salad, Steak & Potatoes and 3-cheese lasagna (from the vegetarian menu). We also had a few surprises from the chef along with incredible bread. Really the star of the show was the fabulous service from our waitress, Hannah N. She was outstanding and definitely made our first visit memorable. The atmosphere was dimly lit and pleasant. We will absolutely be back!!

A fantastic dining experience. Great service, fantastic food, good price point. Small dishes given out for free. Comparable to lower level Michelin guide restaurants. Would love to come back!

We dined here while visiting family in Louisville. The restaurant building has a rich history and the atmosphere here is very upscale. The service was impeccable, and Melanie W. did an outstanding job of serving a table of four. We had 2 bottles of Decoy red wine, and it was perfect for our meals. We started with the She Crab soup that was excellent. My wife & I had the Wedge salad which was fresh, tasty and the buttermilk dressing was outrageous. The entrees included diver scallops, steak fillet, lobster tempura and venison. Everyone enjoyed their dish and complimented it. The side vegetables were fresh & cooked just right. I tasted my wife’s steak, and it was so tender. They gave us sorbet to cleanse the pallet before a molten cake dessert. Note: The table & service moved quickly here which I LIKE but some may want to slow it down a bit. We realized this place fills up its reservations and they are on track to make sure everyone is seated at their reserved time.

The service was very friendly and helpful. We we're waiting a bit past our reservation but they were very up front and apologized that the family at our table was taking too long to leave. They even gave us free dessert and some appetizers. But the food was exceptional, i highly recommend the blackened red fish with creamed corn. It was a tender meaty fish and very comforting without tasting too heavy. Very cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Came here with family (5 in total - all adults). The only issue we had was that we made a reservation for the dining room but the table was not ready. We waited 20 minutes for our table and we eventually did get a table in the bar area. The staff was apologetic and compensated the wait with dessert. For appetizers, would definetely recommend the fried green tomatoes and the goat cheese tart. There was a nice variety of drinks from whiskey to wine. All the entrees we ordered were fairly heavy so definetely go with plenty of room in your stomach. Recommend Blackened Redfish or Shrimp and grits for non steak entrees. Also really enjoyed the palate cleansers between the courses. I think the corn fritter cleanser needs to be expanded to a full appetizer. All in all... had a rocky start to our visit but ended on a wonderful high.

Best Restaurant Experience in our trip to Tenn. White table cloth, fine dining, excellent service and a lovely experience. The food was phenomenal the chef was truly amazing. Unique twists on food that gave it a unique taste and hit your flavor pallet different. My wife and I had a lovely time and happened to land here on a Wednesday with half off wine to make it even better. All I can add is come hungry and do not skip dessert. They also are very good with dealing with my tree nut allergy, that means a lot to us when dining out.
