This church is a gem! It's a dream come true for a wedding photographer that is tired of the same old small, dimly lit buildings with no windows. Granted there could be better ambient light, but who cares when you have a structure like this! I am always excited to shoot here and the volunteer staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Calvary Presbyterian Church is an absolutely fantastic wedding ceremony venue. Our ceremony was absolutely perfect, and we truly feel that we could not have picked a more beautiful location for it. In addition, Cindy was the coordinator we worked with from the church, and she went above and beyond to be flexible when it came to scheduling and helpful when it came to organizing. One thing to be aware of is that the church does not have air conditioning, so on particularly hot days it can be very warm in the building, but even with that said, it was in the high 70's on our wedding day and the temperature was not bad at all. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with the Big Red Church, and we recommend it very highly!

Got married hear 9/25 Need to fix up that back room where the groom gets dressed. It's looks like it's under construction still.

Beautiful historic church with a large open interior space where pews were removed back in the 90s. Instead they set up rows of chairs that may be rearranged or removed so that the building can host all kinds of events. On Sunday mornings, services combine a traditional liturgy with a focus on contemporary issues among a close-knit but welcoming community. Great music also, featuring soloists or an ensemble, rather than a full choir. Members of the congregation are active in the community by supporting Project Stay (the nearby alternative school) and also coordinating an urban-rural program which brings fresh produce to city food deserts. It's a church with a lot of heart, creativity, and a resourcefulness that goes way beyond what you'd expect from a small congregation.

Saw a play in their lower level. Very nice intimate theater. Could use a little better signage. The play was excellent!!!

Beautiful venue. The sound was amazing inside the Big Red Church. With thousands of candles lit and the song selection for Halloween truly made it a wonderful evening. GREAT performer's. Already purchased my tickets for the up coming Christmas performance. It's a must see. Check it out.

Listening to Vivaldi‘s Four Seasons at the Calvary Presbyterian Church was an ideal evening. The acoustics are wonderful, the candlelight is mesmerizing, and the music is outstanding. To be able to focus just on the lovely sounds makes the evening so peaceful. There is parking just down the street And this church is easy access from the highway. This is a working church, so there were no refreshments available for purchase as it is at other venues. And don’t forget to take some money with you to tip the musicians as you walk out. It was a wonderful evening and I can’t wait for the next show.

Beautiful historic church with surprisingly even acoustics is an excellent event space. Pews have been replaced with chairs, allowing access to the whole hardwood floor! Management is friendly and very helpful.

I am not a presbyterian but my husband and I went there for a funeral. The church itself is pretty, and the service was a little long but very nice.

I have found Calvary to be the perfect church for my family. Warm and inviting, a small enough congregation so everyone feels like family.
