I used this shop while visiting recently. I’ve snorkeled all over the Caribbean but this was my first trip to Maui. It was easy finding fins and a mask that fit with help of the staff. They gave me a quick rundown of where I had gone on an excursion the day before and labeled a map with tons of great spots to snorkel. We had an absolute blast and returning the equipment was as easy as checking out. We got some great pics while we were out there. 10/10 would recommend and use again in the future.

A++ Outstanding! These guys rent top quality equipment and have a great packages if you're staying all week with Tommy Bahama chairs, umbrellas, snorkel equipment and boogie boards. I'll say it again all of their stuff is top quality and you'll be looking good sitting on the beach. Do yourself a favor and definitely get an umbrella. Ask for Jonathan, tell him Drew the tall guy from California sent you. Everybody in the store was really super and friendly and helpful. They have tons of free advice and great daily email snorkel reports. If you're looking for beach apparel and T-shirts these guys have super stuff, including hats and T-shirts from a local Maui artist.

We have used The Snorkel Store rentals twice now and have been so happy both times. The staff are so knowledgeable about where to go to snorkel safely! They provided a detailed map and then went over all the different locations with us! We also used the daily snorkel report that was emailed to make our plans for the day! The rental fees are so reasonable and the equipment they have is great. We rented chairs, snorkel gear, umbrella and a cooler! Fantastic! They have some great clothing too! Highly recommend!!

Great shop, very friendly, great resource for information. They took the time to review the equipment with our kiddos and help them feel comfortable. They also shared a wealth of information on where to go, parking, and lots of great tips. I recommend signing up for their snorkel report in preparation to visiting Maui so you get a feel for locations. Read and explore the tips provided in the email as well. Generally speaking, the email comes out too late (8am HST) as we are generally up and out the door before 7am. But even when on the island it’s a good resource to predict where things will be good the following day.

We reserved snorkel equipment for 6 people. It was all done on-line with ease! We set up a time for pick up. The staff in store were fantastic! Fitting us for equipment and also giving us a map outlining the best places to go! The drop off of equipment was equally as easy and we loved that we got a free beach chair each with our reservation! The location of the store was great! Would highly recommend!

From the moment we stepped into the Snorkel Store, we knew we were renting our equipment from the right place! We are a couple from San Diego, CA, and were on a 2 week trip to celebrate my 65th birthday. One of the things that appealed to us was we got to keep our equipment for the full 2 weeks we were there, for one low price! Ken quickly came to help us get properly fitted. He was professional, and funny, and shared with us his secrets to make our stay even more enjoyable (I won’t get into that here, you’ll just have to rent your gear there and ask him!) We received the Snorkle Report everyday in our inbox, and Ken also gave us The Best snorkle map, which we utilized daily as well! I adopted 2 Honu that are in rehab through Snorkle Store’s partnership with the Marine Institute, Maui Ocean Center. As you can see, Snorkle Store puts the turtles first and we really appreciated that. When our trip was over, we returned our gear, easy peasy in less than 5 minutes! Guys, i can’t thank you enough for your help in making my birthday trip so enjoyable! We are 100% satisfied with Snorkle Store and when we return again, you’ll be our first stop! Mahalo!

Good gear and helpful staff. we were helped by Lisa, she was very nice and gave perfect fitting gear for our family She also suggested where to go on that day for clear water because of wind warnings. This store does not rent out gear for a day, but you will get it for your entire stay up to 10 days. There is a shave ice shop right next to it and it was great too.

We rented snorkel equipment on day one for our week-long stay on Maui. The staff was fantastic at fitting our family with the right gear, explaining how to use it and providing us with a map on the best places to snorkel. It was a highlite of our trip. I would highly reccomend them, it was so much cheaper to rent the equipment for a week knowing we could use it when we wanted to and not worry about hourly rates. If you are looking for a great place, this is it!

I took my family to Maui for our first ever trip to Hawaii. We wanted to go snorkeling, but didn't really know more than that. I knew I wanted quality equipment that would be easy for my kids and I to throw on and use. They were very personable. The attendant explained everything to us, showing us how to use and troubleshoot issues. We were fitted to ensure a snug seal. Then after all that - She took about another 20 minutes to show us the best spots to snorkel around the island. Taking extra time to go over the dangerous areas and what to avoid, and most importantly all the details for parking. It really was a great experience, and with all the stress of a family vacation & logistics, The Snorkel Store made this part no stress & easy! Very appreciative of their help. If I can ever afford to fly back to Maui - would 100% use them again.

I just rented snorkel equipment from the Snorkel Store for the third time, and every time has been great. They are very helpful in fitting the flippers and masks, give great advice on places to snorkel, and have helped when there is a problem (I could not find a flipper). I love getting their snorkel report for the month or so before I come (just to feel like the trip is close) and I find it very helpful when I am there. Thanks, and I will definitely rent there again on my next trip.

The snorkelling gear you will rent is top quality and the staff is so great to provide you with advice and tips on the best snorkelling locations on the island . Staff make you feel welcome and definitely will go back at the Snorkel Store at our next trip in Maui.

Customer service is amazing! They definitely make sure you are taken care of. Very knowledgeable and efficient. My family and I went there for snorkel gear. Make sure you make use of their online offers! Sometimes they have discounts regarding their services which can be sent to your email. They give you a map for the nearest/best places to see marine life, weather updates regarding good times to do your activities, and they even give you a scavenger card so you can identify the sea life you see! Incredibly kind and with your rental you can refill your water at their flow water fountain AND …. You get discounts and access to their shave ice shop literally right there attached to the shop. So so good! Highly recommend! Great price, great service, great gear, just all around AMAZING! Thank you guys so much for taking care of us during our stay on the island!

Lisa is amazing! She showed us how to work the chairs and beach umbrella as well as giving us a map of all the best snorkeling and beach spots. Sure enough we spotted a sea turtle later that day (Black Rock beach) The umbrella and beach chairs were Tommy Bahama ones you can get at Costco and were in great condition. It cost $25/per item (with a coupon for signing up) for the week. Drop-off was super easy, but you do have to go during business hours. If you have an early morning flight I would try to return it the evening before Highly recommended

My husband and I went to Maui for our honeymoon. It was our first time in Maui, and we are so glad that we went to The Snorkel Store to rent our snorkelling equipment. One of the store employees, Jonathan, picked out our equipment and tested it out with us to make sure that we had the right sizes. He knew what size goggles/mouth pieces we would need just by looking at us and fitted us with appropriate flippers. The one-time rental was good for the duration of our stay! He provided lots of information about the different snorkelling areas and signed us up to receive daily reports on snorkelling conditions in the different areas. One day during the week, snorkelling conditions weren't favorable throughout, so we stopped in to talk to Jonathan for his expertise. He directed us to Baby Beach, where we swam with fish and a huge turtle, which swam right past us and came up to the surface for air (it was so cool!). We purchased an underwater dry bag from the store, and we used our phones to take videos and pictures of the fish and turtle. It was awesome! In the store, there's a water dispenser (best tasting water) and you can fill up your water bottle as many times as you want, so make sure you stop by The Snorkel Store throughout the day, the week, and your stay! The return process was an easy, smooth process. We are not in Maui anymore, but we still receive the daily reports, and we are itching to go back soon! The next time we are in Maui, we will visit and rent from The Snorkel Store again!

One of the most responsive, easy to interact with businesses I've ever worked with. We loved the snorkeling kits we rented from them. The process was easy from start to finish, even when we needed a refund for members of our party who weren't able to make the trip with us.

This place was a nice surprise- very efficient and professional, great service, great equipment and lots of useful tips from personal ! We got the snorkeling mask with correction lenses ( did not even know that it exists ), bought cool protective waterproof case for my iPhone, thanks that I have a great Green Turtle pics ) As already said - really great place, would highly recommend! Four of us got outfitted with fins for a week (we travel with our own masks). Friendly, attentive service. What elevates the Snorkel Store to five stars is their daily Morning Report email, which gives snorkeling conditions in three general locations (the Kapalua area, the Black Rock area, and the Makena area). My sense is that the report is accurate. In particular, if conditions are bad that day, they will say so.

We had such an amazing experience with The Snorkel Store. Such great deals, staff and customer service. Highly recommend snorkeling while visiting Maui. The snorkel report is an amazing plus too! (You receive emails informing you what beaches are best to snorkel at for the day!) Thank you for making our vacation a magical experience!

The Snorkel Store was more than one stop shopping! Booked our rentals online and got 50% then everything we rented in person after that was also 50% off! The staff has to be the best tour guides we had on our whole trip. Their knowledge of the area and how to navigate it was top notch. The equipment was high end but not high cost. And their food and other tourist attraction recommendations were very detailed and did not disappoint! Turtle Ready!
