Wonderful place to take your dog. Stroll the shore, listen to the waves, play fetch, let your dog go swimming, or just bring a chair and let you dog find new friends. I keep going back here to relax and let our dog run around. Stop, pet some new dogs. Talk to the owners and here some of their unique stories.

My lovely fur babies loved this beach. Some parts of the water is not as deep allowing my short legged dogs to be able to swim more comfortably. My previous dog loved this placed so we decided to bring the new doggos here too. All the dogs here are relative well socialized too. Lots of space for your dog to be comfortable in. Parking is difficult. Dogs are allowed on the other side too but on leash only. This area is fully off leashed.

Love this beach always lots of Doggies for the puppy to play with , fun in the water Afro him and way to cold for me …. But doggies love the place to be leashless… and come on how would you like being strapped to a leash all the time? (ok some people like that) but pups deserves freedom and to run naked (leash less) Anyways always another great stop

OUR FAVORITE BEACH! This area has so many incredibly friendly pups along with so many great places to swim around in! The shower is only a short walk away on the other side of the parking lot for after!

Dog Beach is wonderful, the dogs mostly well-behaved. Some of the humans, however, need some obedience training so they can learn to pick up their dogs' poop!

Great beach to bring your dog! Everyone cleans up after their pet (for the most part). Only downside would be the parking when it gets crowded.

Wonderful place for you to let your pup run off-leash. Suggest you stay with your dog at all times. Occasionally, a dog owner brings in a bad-tempered dog and you need to be able to move your dog to another area. Parking lot is not big enough for the level of use and the parking spaces are quite narrow. There are public restrooms/showers that are quite a distance from the dog area.

Been coming to this off leash dog beach for awhile now ~ love it every time! It’s pure dog joy! Love watching our dogs take it all in; their doggie senses overloaded with sights, sounds, smells! What fun! There’s lots of room, both to meet and greet and to do your own thing, if they need a break! It’s a classic big, sandy beach ~ both along the ocean & inland up the river…the river is warmer, clear, calm & a fun walk ~ Of course, the dogs love it all! We always see a variety of dogs & of people…and a good time is being had by everyone 😀 The adjacent parking lot is free and fairly big…We tend not to arrive at peak times & there’s always been plenty of space ~ There are bag stations if you’re in need…and with little exception, folks seem to stay on top of the pick up! Can’t recommend highly enough taking a trip to this dog beach ~ it’s both free and priceless! Your dogs will love the experience & you’ll love watching them experience it! Great spot to bring your dog also a great spot to meet lots of dogs who just want to have fun. Just remember it’s the dogs beach but they do allow humans who are dog friendly to attend.

So relaxing & fun all in one place. Nice people & all of the dogs were so much fun to watch goofing off & run around.

This place was amazing. The beach was easy to get to and parking was good. There were so many pups there and they all were getting along great. Even the owners were getting along with each other. There was no cost to park here and there were sever bodega/ coffee shops within eye shot of the beach head.

It was a beautiful beach day in Southern California, warm water, fresh air and a mild sea breeze. The dogs were romping, splashing, visiting and running on. The humans were enjoying the sunshine and trying to avoid being trampled by the impromptu packs that would form, charge, disband and reform with a new group just up the beach.

These dogs were wearing shark costumes. Too cute. Fun place for animals and people. Please be considerate and pick up after your animals.

One of the best places anywhere I've been on the west cost, as far as taking ur dog out to burn some energy off. Plenty of other dogs for him to learn from.

I am so grateful for this beach. We used to live within walking distance, but now we have to drive an hour and it's totally worth it. I've never had a negative experience in the 15 years I've been bringing my dogs.

Really nice beach for letting the dogs run loose! Lots of open space for playing fetch, running in the water, or just having a bbq and chillin. No need to come early and save space this beach is huge!!! There is always more than enough space for everyone. Love it!

One of my favorite places to hang out and bring my dog. Just check for water quality reports before letting your dog (or yourself) swim. You can easily do so by googling "ocean beach dog beach water quality report".

Wonderful place to bring your well behaved dogs. Lots of friendly dogs and people. Dogs can run in the sand or swim either on the ocean or river side. My dogs love to go there!

1st time at beach for Bella! Took to the water like a fish, major zoomies. Friendly people and lots of other pups!

It was ok difficult parking. Not all owners pay attention to their dog and they get into fights

Great beach great vibes. Lots of dogs playing and running around and many people there without dogs too. The main beach is very crowded but towards the back where the pier comes out is much more chill. A great place to bring a Dog or just go to hang out.

My pups love this beach, it is huge off leash beach. Sometimes there are aggressive dogs there, but overall the owners are good about cleaning up their pup messes. Its beautiful and calming, seems to be busy almost any time I go from early am to evening. Sometimes there are ppl fishing so be careful of your pup running into the lines. There are poop bags at the entrance to the beach. Currently the parking is closed, so there is a struggle to find parking on the street.

After work I like to go relax and unwind from my work day... calm and fun with all the doggies

So much fun for the dogs! Great place to go to let them run off their energy. It is very busy on weekends and the parking is pretty much non existent. During the week there is no problem.

Not too crowded. Able to find a parking place even though it was a Sunday evening. So so many adorable well trained pups. Stayed until sunset listening to the band @Halfhourlate. Today is Sunday and I'm thinking I will go again this evening.

Best dog beach ever! My dog had a blast. Some were surfing, swimming, and some were just chilling like me.

Great place for dogs, long shallow area as the tide comes in.
