Samantha and the folks at James & Sons in Chicago helped me track down and purchase my Tudor Ranger watch. They went above and beyond and offered me a very personal shopping experience. They have my highest recommendation.

Everyone is super nice here. And they have amazing attention and communication, that is, until you pay. Then that communication drops off drastically. I have to call and email regularly to get updates and have yet to receive anything as per the timeline that was promised. Even if I call and they guarantee a call back within a few minutes, they will either take hours/days to call back, or just not return my call. We purchased an engagement ring for my fiance, her wedding band, my wedding band, and then we decided to change her ring (twice). It's a decent amount of money spent so far, but once again, before the sale, it's all smiles, and after they collect payment, it disappears. My fiances ring was supposed to arrive before Christmas, but we have yet to get an update, even after calling numerous times. We understand that it's busy and items take a bit longer to arrive, but this exact same thing happened since the first ring going back 2 years. Personally, my ring did not come out anything like they stated that it would. It should have been a blue interior with an electric blue line around it, and smoothed edges. Instead I get a ring with no blue interior (that's fine, since you can barely see that), a matte dull blue line, and sharp edges. I told the rep this, and he stated that they couldn't return it anymore so it was mine. This place is really nice upfront, and for items that you can get immediately that are not custom, they're phenomenal! But the communication falls off. We still like them, but just a little bit less now.

James & Sons offers such an excellent, stress free, and personable experience. They have a vast selection of wedding bands, engagement rings, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. For the typical stress that comes with buying an engagement ring, Emma made this process so easy for me and also quite enjoyable! After getting engaged, my fiance and I made the easy decision to come back to James & Sons for our wedding band selection. Once again, it did not disappoint! I highly recommend James & Sons!

We've been going to J&S for years. Engagement ring, wedding band, bonus band, necklace, watch...the list goes on and on. Great quality, always. Disappointed in customer service lately. My husband had to wait almost an hour to do quick ring pick up from a routine cleaning and prong check due to their policy of never stepping away from a customer, even if it's a long try on session. I'd recommend dedicating one employee to quick visits and the rest to longer visits to increase customer throughput and satisfaction. Thank you!

We had an incredible experience buying an engagement ring from James & Sons! They were the first jeweler we went to - we intended to visit a few places but they were so great from the start that we never went anywhere else. Emma was AMAZING through the whole experience - she answered so many of our questions and helped us find the perfect ring. We purchased an engagement ring setting and wedding bands from here and had an amazing experience. We tried another jeweler and had an okay experience, but J&S takes customer service to a whole new level. Jose and Eddie provided friendly, and efficient service. I had the battery replaced in several watches and I expected to have to return the next day to pick them up. Instead, they took care of it immediately and I found some beautiful earrings during my short wait. I also appreciated the free cleaning service for my rings. Jose and Emma were very helpful and patient. Jose my old engagement ring off, since I gained weight since getting married. Emma listened to what I wanted in a reset of my ring, and laid out alternatives. She did not try to upsell or push me into something I didn’t want. They delivered the new ring ahead of schedule, and kept in touch throughout. They offer free cleanings—deep cleaning with checking of the mounts, plus quick steam cleanings. I love my new ring with the added sapphires and would shop here again.

Jose was wonderful to work! I came in last week to get my engagement ring tightened, and he advised I come back today when the jeweler was in. When I came in today, he remembered our conversation and exactly what I needed to have done. He had it taken care of within 15 minutes, and now my ring is as good as new! We will definitely be coming back.

My fiancé and I brought her antique engagement ring in to J&S for a second opinion. They walked us through in detail what the repair would entail (it needed a new band and prong work), their thoughts on best preserving the ring and its sentimental value, and multiple options for types of metal. We knew early on in the conversation this would be our go to jeweler. After that, we spent 30 min with Jose looking at wedding bands to match. The repair was done in less than two weeks. We had an excellent experience creating our engagement ring at James & Sons. We went in several times together, and they were very helpful to figure out which styles we liked the most. Jimmy gave great information, and never pressured us to make a decision or to buy. We ultimately ended up loving one of the rings that they had, but wanted to make a few modifications to it. Jimmy was amazing in working with us and the ring designer to create mockups, with a super fast turnaround. We couldn't be happier with the results! Had my engagement ring resized with James & Sons: they first told me my ring would take 2 weeks max, then 1 week max, and then it was done at the end of the very next day! It was reasonably priced, very quick, and when I got my ring back, it looked better than brand new! Wonderful experience!

The warrantee and service is exceptional, and we took advantage of the sales they have throughout the year. When we were shopping for lab diamonds for my engagement ring, we found some lower prices online, and James & Sons offered us a lower price on their lab diamond to nearly match the online one. It was a phenomenal deal considering the extra perks from buying from James & Sons. They even requested an engagement ring back (it was sent out on a rotation to a different store) that I wanted to try on again during a second visit. That ring ended up being "the one." This place is pure class! I have been to this location numerous times and it is always a pleasure to do business with. Yesterday I stopped in to have a watch sized and was greeted by an off duty Police Officer who not only made me feel safe had a amazing copper Tudor watch on himself. I may have to go back and buy the one I saw in the display case after speaking with him. I then spoke with Jose Ruiz who assisted with my watch sizing. He took time out of his day for something as simple as my needs and talked watches with me. I may just have a watch addiction, lol. He showed me different timepieces and gave me history on each of them that I found amazing. Jose is just not another sales person he truly enjoys the horology and craftsmanship behind these fine luxury watches. I would recommend James and Sons to my family and friends because Jose made me feel welcome and had my watch sized while I waited. I will be getting my next watch here and with Jose fir sure, Thank you!

Sam was so helpful! I needed my engagement ring resized and she said it would take max a week. They ended up resizing it in about 3 or 4 days! Amazing service. Also, Sam pointed out my stone was a little loose in the setting. They tightened the prongs as well, along with the resizing. I will definitely be coming back for any other jewelry needs/ring maintenance.

I buy all of my jewelry with James and Sons. Started shopping for engagement rings all around Chicago but found the staff here to be some of the most knowledgeable with fair prices. Since finding the store I’ve purchased many pieces of jewelry working with Jose. He is extremely trustworthy so even when making large transactions I know he’s looking out for me and will make sure everything is delivered as ordered without any need for me to worry. I even stopped by without an appointment one time hoping they could fix a diamond ring over the weekend and to my surprise they fixed it the same day. Bought an engagement ring, whole process was fantastic. Very friendly jeweler was extremely helpful and patient with me, as I had no idea what I was doing. Ring came in reasonable amount of time, looks fantastic, and were happy to help us resize it when that was needed.
