Returning home from a vacation, I found myself needing transportation from Los Angeles to my hometown. I arrived at Union Station in an Uber ride. I was immediately struck by the impressive architecture and the remarkable cleanliness of Union Station. Its grandeur left a lasting impression on me. However, as a first-time visitor, I initially had some confusion about how to find my train. Fortunately, an on-site employee came to my rescue, displaying exceptional friendliness and patience by personally guiding me to the correct platform. Their assistance was invaluable, and I truly appreciated their kindness. Thanks to this positive experience, I'm eager to use this mode of travel again in the future. I'm even considering planning a family trip to Union Station, as I believe the station itself could be a remarkable experience for them as well.

This operational train station is beautiful place from the inside and the outside and is famous as the backdrop of some very well know films throughout the years. Beautiful architecture so take the time to have a closer look. Make sure to also visit the restaurant/bar on the side of it as it has the same aged look and feel but also offers a wide selection of nice dishes and some great home made beers. It is possible to even have a look at the brewery itself in the back. Worth a visit.

It's been about 20 years since I've been here and still love the historic building. The one thing I love about taking the train is that it's not as crowded as the airplanes. That's the same with the station. It wasn't that crowded people had their masks on and it was very easy to navigate through. Wish I could've got some better photos. I loved the display of images they had on the wall and really wish I could've had more time to look and admire them longer.

Everything goes at Union Station! You’ll see everything and you must watch out at all times. It’s almost like a passage through times but once you get outside you’ll see things you may not have seen in your lifetime. It’s an urban safari. It’s true but I can’t describe it you have to see it to believe it. Encampments everywhere. The union station looks cool but expect to find it kind of dirty at times. The train gates/platforms are the worst. Use the bathrooms at your own risk. If you go here with your children don’t lose them from your sight. It’s a dangerous place at all times.

Los Angeles Union Station is a true gem in the heart of the city. With its stunning architecture that perfectly blends the past with the present, it's not just a transportation hub, it's a historical landmark. The staff are always helpful and the facilities are kept clean. Whether you're catching a train or just exploring, this station is a must-visit. Five stars!

I traveled by AMTRAK from L.A. to San Diego it was about 3 and a half hours (The price was $27 USD so it's a really good option if we compared this to the bus). The architecture of this place will please you (all the spaces are very big). Also if you go all the way down to the Union Station East you will find a big aquarium. Need to mention that later I saw the beautiful views of the pacific ocean and its beaches along the way. A great experience.

Well this is in Grand Central Station but it is a very beautiful and train station. The architecture is really nice all the different tiles are pretty cool. I would say it is a little confusing inside such as trying to figure out where the exit is. I do wish the United States is a lot better in traveling by train because you really get to see America/ all the beautiful sceneries.

I went there yesterday. It's raining. However, it was a nice trip to go around. Friendly staff. I like the way they design this station. This was my first time there, suprising about the metro, I don't know it is free or not, but no fence to get on the metro as New Jersey or New York. I used 3 times, I did ask the drivers, they said free. I don't know about you, but I love this city, if I know Spanish it will be perfect to live here.

Union Station is a beautiful jewel in Los Angeles. Lots of staff members helping people, police security making sure everything is ok. Very clean and spacious and very artistic place. Services like bus station, metro station, and amtrack station are available here.

Like everyone says what a beautiful station. It's just amazing...... and it ends there. Came of the Amtrak Sunset Liner arrived at 4:40 am. to nothing. The only place to get something to eat or drink was Tramana Fresh Food Market. But there are 3 tables you can stand at, the bathrooms are full of homeless people sleeping in the stalls. And the security in the yellow jackets are too bothered when you ask them a question. One told me she was off the clock, another said it would be $28 to answer questions. There are No Chairs or benches in the station, except at the Amtrak section and those are fenced off and guarded for customers of Amtrak. Does not compare to Chicago where it's just as beautiful but more welcoming to visitors. Everyone here is so busy they don't acknowledge your existence.

It’s a must see LA landmark, you just have to remind yourself you are in LA, at a public transportation hub, which can dub as public housing. It’s loaded with glitz, glam, history, culture, centrally located and easy to navigate. If arriving from LAX, It’s a direct bus via Fly Away. If you have time in your schedule, walk across the street to Olvera street, or just wander and enjoy the building.

Had a great adventurous experience and also debunked a theory that traveling by train is expensive. I’m telling you this is the way to travel. I watched the traffic on the five as I flew pass on the train. love the ride to San Diego. The system is very efficient. It makes you appreciate America in a different way and valuing our transportation system. My train was 777 and it was all of that.

We are connecting to another train. The place is huge and seems to be pretty well run. The seating area is gated off to permit ticket holders in, so it doesn't fill with homeless. Though the restrooms are not gated off and we're quite full of homeless. Starbucks, Wetzels, and Subway in the station as well as a small convenience mart are available.

A great architectural building with a unique Los Angeles style. It was built big back in the day that they did that kind of thing. And it’s still dutifully serving it’s purpose today and looks great. It was cleaned up fir the Oscars when I was there so it was especially pretty. Worth checking out if you are in LA.

This is such a calm and comfortable place. You could easily spend hours just admiring the architecture! I never felt bored while waiting for the train/metro. The staff are very courteous and helpful. There's Subway for quick bites and Starbucks for your caffeine needs.

I love visiting Union Station and wandering the walkways and remembering the days of grand travel by train. This is an especially beautiful building, and has been thoughtfully restored. It really is something to see . . . the vast ceilings and chandeliers, tickets booths, woodwork and tile. You could spend hours exploring if you like this type of thing. Also, there is a small convenience store, restaurants and restrooms. Just across the street is the old Pueblo and Olvera Street. Take time to find the secluded outdoor courtyard and admire the fountains.

Beautiful old train station. Was there at 6am, and seemed fairly safe. It's a bit dark at that hour so there were a couple times it seemed a little creepy, but all in all, a good experience.

A great place to go on the transitions between the rail services, with time pending for a food and restroom stop. Here I’ve arrived on the Metro-Link and transferred to the Metro Red Line, or the Metro Gold Line to the Metro Purple Line. Since the latter doesn’t have restrooms onboard, I’ll use the facilities at Union Station before moving on. Union Station is one of the most famous stations in the country, if not the world! It’s been the site of many productions, including the 2021 Oscars! The classic design is a treasure among stations. Keeping in sync with the historic El Pueblo, across N Alameda Street to the north, this station is embellished in eye pleasing detail for weary travelers! There’s a couple of places to eat fast food while at the station, and if Mexican food is desired, then a longer stop may be needed to cross over to Olvera Street. I think the advance preparation of packing a lunch, sure helps to keep a tight schedule! For those who need to park, there’s short-term parking near the front entrance. Loading and unloading may be done quickly out front.

I have yet to be disappointed by the cleanliness and security of Union Station. Had a place to sit while you wait and you can easily find the bus you're trying to take. Also, it is very easy to get the Flyaway to LAX.

I had a pretty good breakfast burrito. I also really enjoyed the art deco architecture and the frescos painted on some of the entryways. A must if you're a fan of that type of building that goes back a long time. overall a well cared for and functional facility

I really liked how the set up was inside. Very clean and organized. I like that they had special seating areas for people on layover, with a person monitoring it at all times. The seats were comfy, not the usual plastic or metal ones. I loved the detailed ceiling! It was also nice with the red cap service helping me on and off the train and helping with my bags. Thank you red cap!!

Great place but has it’s problems…homeless and streetpeople abound but for the most part bother no one. Lots of LAPD officers and security and you have to show a ticket to use the editing area but it’s still a cool station… lots of ambiance…

It is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. It is conveniently located in the heart of Losa Angeles. Paid parking is available for short - and long-term parking. It has bars, restaurants, coffee shops and gift shops. Walk around Olvera street awhile waiting for your departure time. Enjoy the oldest street in LA.

The station is one of the L.A. landmarks. The architecture is very beautiful and draws a lot of attention. However, I had no idea it would be so dangerous. Me and two other friends, we took an Uber and he asked us to be very careful in this region, because appearances can be deceiving. ⚠️ But everything went well and we catch our AMTREK train without any problems. In the boarding area, there is a space reserved for passengers with a ticket already purchased, which is very good. There are many signs with information about the platforms.

If you're arriving in union Station via metro or metrolink and going to LAX via flyaway bus, go towards East union Station follow signs to exit and turn right, you'll see busses and the flyaway booth too. Tickets 9.75 one way at least 30min to LAX.

Expansive and impressive but not so much since I had just recently been to the Chicago Union Station which is several levels more impressive. Signage is not all that clear. My biggest gripe is the lack of available seating. My wife and I had just finished our trip on the Coast Starlight and had to wait, first for our luggage (30+ minutes) then again for our Uber. The only seats are roped off and are available for ticketed people only. Since we just finished our ride, we weren't allowed to sit. My wife was injured and standing was quite painful for her.

I can imagine that this train station at one time was beautiful and well attended. With time, the facility has aged and is not so elegant today. The facility has clearly aged, so that it appears worn down. Renovations can return to its state of glory. Be wary that the homeless can be seen everywhere. However, there are plenty of security and police throughout the interior.

Busy, busy, busy. It's impossible to find a place to sit down without ticket. The restrooms are filthy and most times the toilets are out of order. The vendors are overpriced; A typical tourist trap. Try to arrive at least an hour before your departure time. You have no choice of avoiding Union Station if you're riding on Amtrak or Metrolink. Enjoy the LA side show. But be careful!

They have restored a few things, but it’s still sad to see the original chairs be taken away. It still has its charm, be sure to look above to appreciate the architecture and design. Connects to Amtrak and metro subways hub. There are food options available. The flyaway to LAX it’s $10 one way which is a great option. Pick up in the front off to the side, and there is a back entrance for pick up and drop off closer to the bus hubs

Train station are always weird in America, a lot of homeless want to enjoy the comfort of a chair… security is everywhere but it is weird to be seating with barriers everywhere… beside that it’s clean and you’ll find stuff to eat! Workers at the counter are efficient and nice :)

Great station with some charme. I was running late and hence did not have the time to sit down and enjoy the architecture. The service on trains is exceptional. However, trains are always late: 2 hours from and to LA!

I rode Amtrak coast starlight as a first class passenger and the treatment even upon arrival was first class. I was greeted by an Amyrak attendant who didn't know how I was ticketed walking in the door and gave me directions. Once I reached the lounge, they tagged my bags and provided a golf cart to the station and dropped us where our car would be. I felt very well taken care of from arrival to departure. I was very surprised and impressed. Pic is of train arriving.

Many people, walking, talking, looking, conversing. It's a beautiful building with unique ceramic tiles on the interior and exterior too. The bathroom is clean, but sometimes is crowded, DON'T WAIT TOO LONG to gooo. Pleasant travel to you and don't forget to smile at a stranger🎉

I visited this place twice or three times, and my first impression about this station was nice. The station was lively with people and clean. The direction was helpful in finding the correct platform. Transfer between Subway and Amtrak was easy enough for first visitors. Also, the shuttle bus to LAX departs here, so if you're looking for a way to get to the airport without cars, check the shuttle bus schedule online.

FUN FACTS: • Union Station opened in May, 1939 - the last of the Great Railroad Stations • Ground Corncobs were used in the neutral coloured acoustical tiles to create a sound dampening material on the walls that attribute to very little echo in the Waiting Room, unlike most train stations. • The oversized leather chairs are Art Deco style and are carved from mahogany. They are unique to Union Station since all other train stations had benches in their waiting rooms.
