Went to the dog park right next to Gillespie Park. Very nice, lots of shade and two sides, one for small pumps and another for larger. Will definitely bring my girl back here!

It's a nice shady park with plenty of wild life to see. Its handicap accessible. Has a basket ball court, playground for all ages, amazing jungle for the more intrepid kids, and even a dog park. The park is free to visits with free parking. There is a few homeless people but Sarasota police department has made tremendous efforts in cleaning up the drug use and violence in the area. So the homeless here are not a threat they may ask for a smoke or tell ya a joke. The park is clean and safe.

The dog park is setup nicely for large and small dogs. There was a portion of the large area that was muddy but other than that we loved it.

One of the nicest parks in sarasota, conveniently close to downtown, with exercise amenities a loop trail and lots of local water fowl on the large pond. NO BATHROOMS.

Wonderful little park near downtown Sarasota. One has to go visit the ducks every evening. The beige one, Cecino anatra, is the one with the most personality.

My kids absolutely love this park, the playground is huge, the ducks are adorable and the dog park is pretty nice as well. Definitely our favorite park in the area.

Nice spacious park with a long sidewalk path, a playground, and a pond. You'll see ducks resting at night, or maybe looking at you as shown below in the picture.

Nice clean city park with picnic benches and park benches dotted around the walkways. Sort of an oasis in this part of town. I think it dates back to 1925. Has a really good looking kids playground that makes me wish I was knee high again! Note that although there are plenty of mature trees they don't offer much shade where the benches and picnic area is located. Not sure if that was a deliberate tactic by the city? They're is a dog park area, basketball courts and free parking also.

The park was beautiful and clean. There was a lot of things for our family to do. Only complaints we had are the picnic tables have zero shade and lack of bathrooms made our trip a short one.

Nice little city park. Some exercise equipment and a nice playground was added a few years back. Neighborhood is almost fully gentrified now unfortunately.

Love this place, the human residents mostly keep to themselves. The park is also cleaned frequently enough. Definitely recommend.

Gillespie Park is very beautiful and well-kept, with lots of clean and colorful benches as well as various exercise equipment scattered throughout the park. I went here alone and felt safe to sit and be relaxed. Would recommend to others!

Gorgeous panoramic view of the bay. But the on-site restrooms are kept locked with no attendant anywhere around to unlock them. So, maybe not such a great place for a picnic or any kind of celebration involving food or drink.

Great city park near the start of the City Tour. We went back for a stroll and some quiet time.
