I find a hair in my drink. How unsanitary and disgusting. Does no one wear hair nets? Not recommending a place so unsafe and unsanitary absolutely unacceptable. I pull this from my mouth with the tapioca balls hanging from it. How does this happen? Never again.

The employees were very nice, but the food was way over-priced for what they are. First of all, the menu says entrées come with Jasmine rice, but it was definitely not Jasmine rice - just regular rice you'd expect when you go into a teriyaki place. The spicy chicken looked and tasted like a bottle of hot sauce like Sriracha was just dumped on the food. Sesame chicken had very little flavor, and maybe 10 sesame seeds. The fried rice was just very basic, my son said I make it better... It honestly wasn't that horrible, but the price made it that it was hugely disappointing. $5-6 less per entrée and I would've shrugged it off.

This place is always hit or miss and today was extremely miss and the last time I order from here. I got honey garlic chicken and honey garlic tofu. First, they skimp really hard on the protein and put way too much of the sides. Second, the tofu wasn't even coated with the honey garlic sauce. They sent me bland tofu. Third, I ordered fried rice and I fail to see any fried rice on here. It's insane the corners they are cutting to push this food out. I don't know what happened to this place but this is terrible.

They served us all our utensils and plates, and I thought that was neat. The teriyaki sauce stays in a crockpot, warm and fresh. The staff cooking should get a raise! They work very hard and efficiently with to go orders. The lady’s up front are sweet and polite

I love Joy Teriyaki! It is by far my favorite teriyaki restaurant of all time. It reminds me of a place I went to when I was a kid. The bowls are perfectly proportioned and the price is great. I love the veggies, too! A lot of times the veggies are just a second thought in bowls like this, but not these veggies- they remind me of the inside of an egg roll!!!

We were craving teriyaki and this was one of the only places open late for DoorDash. Never heard of them, so I looked on Yelp for more reviews and photos. I should've listened to the negative reviews but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big regret!!! We ordered 1 regular teriyaki chicken, 1 spicy chicken bowl and a strawberry bubble tea. As others have said on Yelp, the food is not like what is shown in the photos; especially the spicy chicken bowl. The regular teriyaki chicken was ok (nothing special) but there was no steam veggies as shown in the pic. As for the spicy chicken bowl.… It's basically plain chicken with some red "spicy" sauce poured all over. That sauce tasted like it had ketchup in it. After removing the chicken on top, the bowl mostly consisted of rice and some chopped up veggies that I didn't choose. The bubble tea was nothing spectacular. Quite disappointing and so not worth the price for all of this. You all should update your photos to show what the food actually look like. The spicy chicken bowl looks nothing like the picture you have shown. I would not order from this place again nor recommend it.

I ate here yesterday chicken teriyaki for the first time and definitely got food poisoning, I’ve been all food poisoning symptoms since a few hours after I ate it. Personal note, the “sealing” process in which the food is hot sealed is not with customers in mind, it makes the food moist and then makes the cold salad hot - and then no option to reseal for leftovers which I typically like to do. Tried and one time is enough. Portions were also small in comparison to others.

The food is good. But it is absolutely a rip off. This place used to be authentic and good. Now it’s sold to some new owners. I do not like this place anymore for that reason. ALL locations are a scam. They give you a tiny amount of meat and then 4 scoops of rice. The proportions are OFF. I used to come here all the time and now I won’t come back. Overpriced for the rip off amount of food you get. You are paying 50$ for just rice. STOP BEING GREEDY.!

Oof idk. I gone there when they reopened it and loved their spicy pork/beef bowls. But the last two times I have gotten it, it tasted DISGUSTING! like I just spent $14 on this but it tasted so disgusting I threw it away” their milk tea is good and the gyoza is good. But the food now is a big no. Apparently it’s new management so 🤷🏽‍♀️

Was there at least 30 minutes before closing. They were out of some items. While I was deciding from what was left to order, a man in the back said no more. The cashier indicated that I had been waiting to order. He looked directly at me and said No. Was it because I am not Asian? There were people inside waiting for orders. He embarrassed me. I will not go back there.

This place used to good, but the last 2 times I’ve been there have been bad experiences. There must be new owners or management. Portions were super small. Teriyaki Chicken and Katsu combo: About 10 small pieces of dried up chicken between the teriyaki and katsu. Pretty sure the katsu was fried earlier and then reheated. I won’t be going back.

Food is cooked perfectly and the sauce is good, however the portions are very small. Every time I’ve gone the portion has been slightly smaller, and now my order had exactly 8 pieces of chicken in it, for $16. Several other teriyaki restaurants will give 4 times the amount of chicken for that price or even lower. Coleslaw (I think coleslaw? Not a regular salad) was added without asking or informing me.

Friendly staff. I was craving chicken teriyaki and this was not bad. I had that and katsu combo, my friend had the honey garlic chicken. Good servings and tasted good. Average pricing with everything going up. Will try again!

It’s ok but not something I would go back to that often. Portions are small. Fried rice could of been better, it doesn’t have much flavor, missing spices maybe.

Used to be our favorite but they’ve really gone downhill. They changed their packaging and greatly reduced the amount of sauce on the food to the point that it isn’t even kind of enough. . They then removed everything that we actually ordered off their menu.. All of the good tofu dishes that I ordered are gone (sesame tofu, orange tofu, honey ginger tofu).. No more chicken breast teriyaki for my mom. I haven’t returned since. Side note, they only have an “okay” rating from the health department.

Service was alright but the sesame chicken was a disaster. I didn't know anyone could mess it up this bad. It was crunchy all the way through, and the few tiny bits that weren't crunchy were dry as a desert. It felt like I was eating bones, and frankly I think I was at some points. At least the rice was alright. Some of it was undercooked and still hard though. Very disappointed.

Really fast service , accurate and tasty good teriyaki. Local spot , spacey place to dine in , smoothies are good and freshly made, phoning in an order is also a real convenient way to order for take out they are quick in having your meal ready for pick up .

Sesame chicken was over cooked, and had absolutely no sauce on it whatsoever. Which surprised me, because I’ve never been to an Asian joint that could absolutely f up a dish like that. I wouldn’t be as upset if it wasn’t in the middle of the day, I understand places can get busy and will result in the occasional poor quality meal. Seems like I got some leftover fried chicken that got dropped in the fryer again so they could save a buck instead of putting in effort to make something fresh.

A few friends of mine who was doing international studies at the local college told me this place was good. I tried the house combo fried rice as well as the Gyzoa Plate and it was really good. I could also tell the workers, the cooks and the front service was doing very well. I would definitely eat here again but not to often because I don't want to get bored with it.

I like their food a lot, probably one of the best teriyaki chicken in Tacoma. Price is affordable too, Highly recommended.

👍👍 This was our first time here since before 2020 and we were reminded that this is our favorite Mexican restaurant and our favorite restaurant period in all of Tacoma.
