It's very beautiful landscape ,nice climbing rocks and trails , nice place to sit on the rocks and just relax while taking in the views or having a picnic.. can you find here in the pictures a rock formation that ..looks like a little girl.. Maybe her faceless brother ..that stands next to her...I call her Emily .

A great day trip from Baden Baden. Take a walk out of the city and up into the hills for great views. There's an old castle (which is currently covered in scaffolding) and lots of cliffs that are popular among rock climbers. The walk up to the castle is very steep.

Nice area for climbing, If you are up for something more trad. Only on the "klassiker" and the more difficult routes (vi-vii) you will find enough hooks to do Sportclimbing.

Beautiful views of the Black Forest from along the whole top of the mountain. The castle (Altes Schloss) on the eastern side is awesome, but so are the barely recognizable ruins of ramparts on the southern side. The nature preserve has a number of educational signs along the trail, which were very interesting to read along the walk. It's a long hike through Baden-Baden and up the mountain to walk there from the train station in town, but it's doable to go in daylight if you plan a full day. Be sure to visit the castle, the old ramparts, and get in some good views from the edge of the mountain! There is a bench or two along the trail up to the castle that are great places to have a small picnic. (Stop by Aldi to grab some food as you walk by on your way out of town to the mountain.) Just be sure to pack out whatever it is that you pack in. The forest is gorgeous and clean, so be sure to keep it that way!
