Beautiful
views
of
the
Black
Forest
from
along
the
whole
top
of
the
mountain.
The
castle
(Altes
Schloss)
on
the
eastern
side
is
awesome,
but
so
are
the
barely
recognizable
ruins
of
ramparts
on
the
southern
side.
The
nature
preserve
has
a
number
of
educational
signs
along
the
trail,
which
were
very
interesting
to
read
along
the
walk.
It's
a
long
hike
through
Baden-Baden
and
up
the
mountain
to
walk
there
from
the
train
station
in
town,
but
it's
doable
to
go
in
daylight
if
you
plan
a
full
day.
Be
sure
to
visit
the
castle,
the
old
ramparts,
and
get
in
some
good
views
from
the
edge
of
the
mountain!
There
is
a
bench
or
two
along
the
trail
up
to
the
castle
that
are
great
places
to
have
a
small
picnic.
(Stop
by
Aldi
to
grab
some
food
as
you
walk
by
on
your
way
out
of
town
to
the
mountain.)
Just
be
sure
to
pack
out
whatever
it
is
that
you
pack
in.
The
forest
is
gorgeous
and
clean,
so
be
sure
to
keep
it
that
way!
