Gave it a shot because of it’s high rate in google, however, it was truly disappointing I would have to say🙁 The service was awfully poor there, especially the girl in the picture. She was extremely rude when we were checking in politely for our order status after more than 20mins wait🥹 Food was also just so so. I would recommend another restaurant just 2 minutes walk away instead☺️

Probably the best beef I have had in Europe. It's just incredible.

Food was good and quickly served. We paid cash 102€ and waiter came back 1 minute later with only 60€ saying we paid 50€ too less. We were pretty sure we have him the correct amount and he didn’t insist… I think he tried to lie and tested us. Too bad because until the bill, we were quite satisfied but so disappointed by the dishonesty.

After got my hiking shoe I asked the sport shop owner to suggest a good eatery for our lunch session. They recommended Goldener Bar after they found out we are looking to try out authentic Bavarian cuisine. Seated at their outdoor seating and it is just chilling with the breeze of winds. The boss greeted us with warm welcome and food served are really delicious :) highly recommended to others especially to tourist😁 able to communicate well in English too :) indeed a lovely dining experience :)

You need to read this whole review!!! Okay so at first I was about to give them a one star review. It seemed like they were ignoring us, we thought because we didn’t speak German. But as the evening progressed our waitress really warmed up, and a couple of the waiters were super friendly and chatty so be prepared and patient. After all we are visitors to their beautiful country. The food was excellent!! We had the knoodle plate, the cheese noodles, and the beet noodle plate with French Fries, pretzels, and complementary bread. The beer was great too! Very reasonable pricing. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for some authentic Bavarian food and drink.

I had the most delicious pumpkin cream soup and a very special beet carpaccio with pumpkin tartar and goat cheese pesto. Amazing! Service was quick and kind! And, my favourite, Coca Cola Light in a 0,33 cl glass bottle. The best kind of Cola ❤️

We just had a quick lunch but took 1 hour. Food's good, reasonably priced ang big portions.

A group of 6 English students, we were scammed by the workers as we were charged 11 euro for water. Despite the food being really lovely, we were grossly overcharged.

As a group of six English students looking for somewhere to eat, this seemed like the perfect place. But we soon realised we were being grossly overcharged. 12 euros for tap water and and an extra 2:50 for plates and cutlery. Awful. FOREIGNERS DONT COME HERE

We waited for quite some time to be served. After waiting, waiving, seeing other people get orders, etc. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. I think their business is going too good for them yo bother with some extra customers.

The meatloaf and the Berchestesgadener bratwurst and potato salad were so delicious. The kaiserschmarrn was delightful as well. We sat at an outdoor table, and the atmosphere in the evening was really nice. There is also a parking garage right by.

A typical bavarian restaurant. Nothing on the menu was marked as vegan, but the waitress told us that a vegetarian burger can be made vegan, and that the lentil soup is vegan. The portions are fairly big and the service was extremely fast. It gets quite busy, the indoor and outdoor sitting areas were almost completely full.

We sat outside to eat dinner. Good food with quick service, great atmosphere when the Bavarian band was playing in the town, friendly staff.

Very rude staff! After an arrogant attitude/reaction by the waiter, we had bad vibes so we decided to have a drink somewhere else. He started laughing and scold at us in front of the whole gasthof. Never ever again, stay away.

I always eat at the Goldener Bär, been coming here for nearly 40 years. Sitting outside you can sometimes be treated to some singing and music by a duo of locals. The food is wholesome and not particularly expensive. Beer and wine always good.

Went here twice, had duck with sauerkraut and a mushroom pasta special and blueberry ice tea. Food was all very good, we had tried some other similar places and liked this better. The staff were friendly.

Great taste of original homemade Bavarian food, staffs are too busy sometimes in peak hours.
