We got the judge’s platter and enjoyed all of the items on the plate. The brisket was definitely the best followed closely by the chicken. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely want to go back!

Visited today to pick up some sides for Thanksgiving! Everyone was incredibly kind and working really hard. They did a wonderful job with the Thanksgiving orders. Shout out to Tammy for being so helpful!

Every time I come here I can’t seem to get consistent food. I ask for the pulled pork to be nice and juicy and every time I get it it’s completely dry. Two stars out of a possible five.

The mgmt team was quite helpful and friendly. I hadn't been to City bbq in quite a few months,the beef brisket was stil great. The ribs were a little dry but tasty,the sides I had were excellent,green beans and baked beans. I will definitely go back again soon.

Wonderful experience on Veterans Day 2023. The crew was full of life and so grateful to have a line of Veterans out the front door. They stayed in high gear and kept the food coming in very short order. The food was so tasty and plentiful. The inside and outside smelled of the wonderful smoke that was cooking and flavoring the meats.

I almost gave up on restaurants in Columbus because they are average at best. But, we went to City Barbecue on Henderson Road, Columbus, Oh. They made the best Southern style Green Beans and Potato Salad. So, delicious!!! The grilled chicken was good and the pulled pork was good as well. There is hope for good food in Columbus, at least on Henderson Road City Barbecue. Well worth the money.

Before covid and supply chain issues they had the best Lemonade and tea, but now it doesn't taste like its homemade, rather prepackaged drinks and it's hard to enjoy them. I had ordered 2 family meals and instead of buns I ordered toast but when the food came out we were missing the toast, so when I went up to ask for it and a lady in the back started grumbling saying "mm no, no- uh uhh you can't do that, no" and trying to deny my order even though I had already paid for it, brought the trays and receipt up, and waited for someone to help me.

Pretty good brisket. Sometimes the brisket can be a little dry though. Great pulled pork. Good variety of bbq sauces. The Macaroni is awesome and the corn cake is great. Best thing on their menu though is their banana pudding. Absolutely delicious. I highly reccomend it.

I love CityBBQ but last night we ordered an adult lo lo pork meal and a kids lo lo pork meal and when we got to the hotel our coleslaw was missing on both orders. So sad! Also they gave us regular pulled pork and not the lo lo pork. Just very disappointed

Ordered online, and paid in advance. Waited by register for several minutes while staff walked back and forth but stopped for a drink. Standing next to line of bags knowing the my order was right there but all the tickets were facing the other way. Large order so unable to check food in-store but was hardly surprised when one side was incorrect and another was missing. What could have been a quick in-&-out pickup took too long, gave me a failed order, and nobody was wearing masks as delta is spiking numbers. Never returning.

Flexible and fast. I came early for a pick up but they were able to get it ready for me anyway. Tastes amazing and easy to order catering!

Not bad at all for a chain BBQ joint. I haven't had bad food at any of the locations near me. Customer service is fairly good as well. Prices are too expensive ($30 for a full rack of ribs), but that's pretty much all restaurants these days.

This place feels like home to me now. This particular location is close to where I live, and every time I have gone there, the staff there was so incredibly kind to me for no reason, that several times it left me in tears. Every time. I don't know what this place is, why and how it has some of the kindest, warmest people on Earth working there, but God bless this place! Thank you so much for being one of my favorite spots to go to in this town. You guys are like my family. That's consistently been my experience through years of going to this location. I love you so much, City BBQ of Dublin. You are like my family. ❤ Please never change.

This is our go-to barbeque spot in Columbus. They have several locations and the consistency is impressive. The best brisket and pulled pork I've had anywhere, including some of the highly-rated Tennessee and Carolina spots. Great chicken, ribs and smoked turkey too. The sides are excellent as well, especially the corn pudding, green beans and hush puppies. It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu here.

First time reviewer. Have sampled many times! Pretty good but not outstanding. Meats are hit or miss as far as being great or full of gristle and fat. Hush puppies, potato salad and slaw are amazing! Mac and cheese is VERY disappointing —they just seem to mix velveeta with noodles and call it a day. Poor excuse for mac and cheese at a rib place!!

Picked up the turkey salad wrap today and it sucked and was not worth anywhere close to $10 as there was less than a 1/2 cup of turkey.

My son wanted to go here for my son's b-day. It was very good. Very nice worker, gave my son a cookie for his b-day. Thought that was very nice! We sat on the covered patio It was a very nice day for it!

The food is always AMAZING and rib bone Tuesday is GREAT! However, there didn't seem to be any AC on an 85° day. And the decor used to be fun, with all kinds of pictures of local people & local activities City BBQ participated in, and now the walls are just kind of blah and boring.

The Henderson location is so amazing. They always get our order correct and bring it out to the car for curbside pick-up as soon as we pull up.

The family stopped in for dine in tonight. There staff was amazing, nice, and accommodating. Our first time for our 2 year old and found out he loves BBQ square and ribs ha ha. Thank you again City BBQ for the dinner!

The restroom leaves a little bit to be desired considering the menu especially. However, I wasn't rushed in the restroom and no one was rude to me and I appreciate that. Thank you very much for having awesome food #thedisabledhomeless.

While not the cheapest, this specific city BBQ location makes it worth EVERY penny. Huge portions of fantastic food. The service was fast, but most importantly super friendly and accommodating. Coming back every time I'm in town, no doubts.

BBQ yum medium to high price. Worth every penny. I get the 40 dollar family meal, can't remember the name. Excellent deal. The banana pudding is awesome!

They always forget something or something is always sketchy. Always. Yesterday, it was my drink. The time before that, squished (read: completely flat) buns. Bones in the shredded chicken. Once, I got NO BBQ SAUCE! Never get utensils that I ask for. Really, guys? Come on. Y'all used to be good ole reliable. Now you're just annoying. Bummer.

City Barbecue is just about one of the safest barbecue places you can go in terms of getting exactly what you came from. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and it always delivers on the craving. The only issue with this locations atmosphere was that the restaurant was awfully cold inside, and every single patron was wearing a coat while eating. I think this was due to the ongoing renovations, but I had also never been to this location in the winter before. I guess I will have to go again later this winter to see if it’s any better… darn!

Visited here on a Saturday evening. Every time I walk into a BBQ spot, the smoky air elevates my tastebuds. I have been to Austin, Houston and Dallas, Texas. The flavor is spot on comparable to traditional Texas-style barbecue. My entree of choice was a full 1 pound of pulled pork, sides of mac and cheese, and hush puppies. The sides were good and not too salty, which is preferred since I want the meat to shine on savoriness. Fork-playing the pork, it revealed a moist and tender texture, and upon tasting the delectable meat, I was in slow-cooked heaven. It had an excellent amount of charred outer and inner portions. Was a treat to get some fixing on this meat. Will return soon.

Got the brisket sandwich that has provolone and peppers and horseradish sauce on it. I recommend getting just the brisket sandwich the first time you go, so you can really appreciate how incredible the brisket is on its own. Better than anything I've had in Texas, Tennessee, and the entire East Coast! Their sammich with the added cheese/peppers/sauce is a real treat for a second visit. It adds some really nice elements to your sammichy experience. The bread they use is also really really good. Soft, doesn't fall apart even if you get takeout, but doesn't make you feel like your sammich is half bread. The slaw is also really good. Really mild with the right balance of sweet and bitter. Mac n cheese is pretty solid, though I prefer my fancy restaurant Mac to have some kinda crunchy breadcrumb element or some bacon.. that's just my preference though. Addicted to the brisket, and I don't need any other reasons than that to come back over and over again.. insanely tasty. No pictures for this review cuz the food is in my belly.

I always go to the original location on Henderson. Quality is always consistent and as great as the pulled pork and smoked brisket are their sides are just as good. Love the green beans and the collards both made with some of the pork. They also have some of the best fries with some skins on in Central Ohio. Love to douse them with their Swine Wine, a spicy vinegar they have for their pork sandwiches.

This is the original store for City Barbecue having opened back in 1999. They have had quite an expansion over the years but still put out great food. While the BBQ is scrumptious, the sides are excellent which makes the overall food experience wonderful. We particularly like the corn pudding, green beans and baked beans. You will come back to City BBQ having once eaten their fare.

Their food is always spot on, the curbside option for carryout is efficient and so easy. Anytime I've ever had an issue they've always resolved it quickly with no hassles. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for some yummy bbq, if that's not you're thing they have other options on their menu as well to appease anyone.

I called ahead for my order once I pulled up. I was told to wait 20 min & then can a different number to let them know I was there. I wait 5 min, called & them brought the order right out.b I'm glad I didn't wait 29 min., the food would have been cold. The girl that brought it out was very personable & professional. The ribs barely had any meat. The brisket was good.

Ordered via door dash. Portions were disappointing for the cost. The portion of brisket did not contain a single intact slice, mostly bits and scrap pieces. Requested extra sauce in the comments because DoorDash only gives you the option to order a pint but the city sampler only comes with one small sauce cup apparently. Fries arrived crispy and were good, baked beans were also very good.

Very tasty but the portions are small for the price. My husband and i ordered the city sampler and it was a tatsty mess to eat. The banana pudding is delicious. We may come back but will be more prepared on what to order

i did curbside pickup yesterday. i added some random sides to my order, and they remembered everything. thank you for checking my order for accuracy i greatly appreciate it! the female employee who brought out my order was friendly as well. my favorite sides were the potato salad, hushpuppies, and corn pudding!

Service was great. Super friendly & speedy. I had the brisket sandwich. Brisket was very moist & tender with perfect char. Extremely flavorful. Fries are perfect & great for soaking in malt vinegar. Wife had pulled pork sandwich on Texas toast. “Heavenly”. We sat in the “added on” section at the front. It was comfortable & clean. We’ll worth the visit!

My family and I went after looking reviews on google for bbq. This one wasn’t far from our hotel so we decided to try it. The guy who took our order was friendly and helpful and explained some options and which he preferred over the other. I ordered the brisket and ribs which were $17 and it had four ribs and 4 slices of brisket which was solid for the price. Problem is their sides are a La carte so they can get pricey. Food was out quickly but my name wasn’t called. The two people calling out orders were both on their cellphones and I saw an order that looked like ours sitting there. I asked was it for me and they said yes this is yours. 🤦🏽‍♂️. When the hell were you going to say something as you see me standing here waiting. To the food: the brisket and the ribs were both very good. I got corn pudding and baked beans as my sides. The corn pudding was solid but the beans were not good. Just bland flavor. Their sweet sauce and gold version were both good. My parents had coleslaw and Mac and cheese as their sides and they both didn’t like either side. My sister said the potato salad was solid. Both of my daughters said their collard greens were just ok. So the consensus from everyone was the sides needed some work but the bbq (chicken, ribs, and brisket) were all very good.

We bought the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, cornbread, and hush puppies along with the sweet BBQ sauce. Everything was delicious! The service was great for how swamped they were. They were very efficient.

They have so many different options and the place is constantly packed, they even had a table with all the pick up orders on it and there were a lot, so that has to tell you this place is amazing

Disappointing. I ordered a half slab of ribs. Three of the bones had almost no meat at all, the others were a little meatier. Fries were tasty, though not particularly crisp. My wife’s pulled pork was tasty, very, very fatty, making about one quarter of it inedible. When we ordered I declined a beverage, telling the clerk that we would share a drink. She charged us for two drinks anyway.

Excellent food. Loved the ribs & the brisket. Baked beans are very good as well. Mac'n'cheese is also enjoyable. Excellent service. Facilities are mostly clean.

We use to love city BBQ, service was great, but so much of the food's flavor has changed. We were disappointed in the sides. we ordered greens, cobbler, Mac and cheese and fries. The greens were extremely salty , the cobbler had almond extract taste to it that I do not remember being in the cobbler before. If it was used it was not as strong as it is now. Definitely refer to their allergens list on the website. We should have checked prior to ordering fries and didn't realize thier fries contain milk and eggs. So one of our family member visiting from out of town had a reaction to the fries. So overall the food was just a bit disappointing and not what we expected based on what we remember City BBQ tasting like in the past. The meat was really good though!

After living in Texas, no other bbq place can really compare but I decided to give this place a chance. I asked the price of one their meats they had and the guy literally shrugs his shoulders and says “depends on how much you get.” Okay whatever. So I ordered pretty much the cheapest thing they had with a side and a drink. The food was mediocre and it was pricey. I got better and more food for a cheaper price with awesome customer service when I was in Texas. Avoid this place.

Smoked turkey, smoked sausage, brisket are all fantastic! Terrific sides too. Aside from green beans & baked beans, do yourself a favor and try their delicious chili.

Had lunch with a very special friend of mine today and she chose City BBQ. It hit the spot perfect. The cashier, Melissa, was amazing. The food was great. The area was very clean and comfortable.

This was my first-time trying brisket and I was blown away. The ribs, on the other hand, seemed just a tad on the dry side. Towards one end I was given, it was actually quiet chewy and tough. I think I would pass on their ribs and try a different meat. The sides, however, were out of this world. The coleslaw and potato salad were unbelievable...the best I have ever tasted in my life. I was sitting there trying to figure out what they put in it. All around, I will be returning!
