    Horrible experience from terrible customer service. Firstly, we were not greeted or even smiled at upon entering the store - the staff just looked at us then continued to gossip with each other. The staff member who did finally offer to help us didn't seem interested in making any sales. Every time we would ask about the specs of a diamond (colour, clarity etc), her answer would be "it's not that great". Not sure if this is the sales technique they are taught during training but it certainly wasn't the best. Secondly, we were left quite offended as it seemed that this staff member was under the impression that we couldn't afford the (highly overpriced) 2ct diamond ring we were looking at - this was very obvious in the way that she asked "so guys, this is over $100,000, how are you going to pay for it". Considering the price vs. quality of the diamond, I asked if they had a hand lens that I could use to have a closer look. The staff member abruptly said no. It is highly unusual for a jewellery store not to own a hand lens so I suspect this was either a lie or just bad practice. Overall, I wouldn't bother going into this shop again. We happily took our business to Walker & Hall and they were amazing and very informative of what we were purchasing.

    My fiance and I had a really terrible experience on Sat 08 August. 2020. We were walking past and decided to see what they had in regards to wedding bands. The sale woman was VERY pushy, we told her we wanted plain gold bands instead were were shown everything but. She then went on to try and sell us on credit but we said we had cash if we found something we really liked and were were applying for a mortgage so applying for more credit won't look good. Still pushed the application saying that it wouldn't do anything and would just show how much we could borrow (the credit card arrived the following Saturday that we had to cancel). She then kept trying to push us at the till saying it would be only $56 ($56 per what? PER WEEK I had to ask!). At this point I had asked for the price several times. Now we said that we were just looking to see what they had. She kept pushing asking why we weren't going to buy then and there. It was 1130 so we said that we would have lunch then think about it. She then asked us what time after lunch we would be back (!?) we said we might do some shopping so might be back the following weekend. We then were told her days off we Sun/Mon, given her card and her PERSONAL cell phone number and told if we come back to message her. It was so awful we took another exit out of the mall to avoid going past the store. I made a complaint on their website and got a generic response but I though if her manager gave her a talking to it might prevent other people being bullied into buying something they don't want then that's good. The saga isn't over though everyone, she has texted my fiance yesterday 18 Aug 20 to say they ares still selling under level 3 and then RANG today 19 Aug 20 to say the same thing. How did she get his phone number? I don't know! COMPLETELY unprofessional. I still don't know the price of the rings we looked at either.

    Horrendously rude staff at this branch, and would not recommend it to anyone. I've been there multiple times due to it being the closest to where I live, but I refuse to go back there again. I had my diamond ring checked as part of the lifetime warranty, but was never given any documentation, so we didn't realise we needed it. I went back to request for it to be checked again, but they refused to do it as I didn't have the form. The staff were so judgemental and rude, so we left and went to Glenfield. The staff at Glenfield were wonderful and helped us with exactly what we needed.

    Never felt so judged in my life. I was clearly standing there trying to find someone to help me. I saw a server who finished with her person so I approached her for help. She blatantly looked at me then ignored me saying hi, walked right passed me to this Asian couple who just walked in (despite me standing there for a couple minutes) and helped them. I assume it’s cause they were dressed nicely and I was just in casual clothes but I actually new Michael hill had exactly what I wanted. I even got this judgemental look from her as if I was a waste of her time. Ended up not getting it cause of that horrible experience. Walked across the way to gold mark instead and had the best customer service. I’ll be buying from them

    Staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful when trying to get lifetime insurance on a newly purchased engagement ring. Awful customer service, would never take my rings back to there and regret purchasing such an expensive piece from such a terrible store

    Because of the layout of the store and the need for social distancing, the staff weren't paying much attention to which customers had been waiting the longest for service. However, once served, the employee was attentive and friendly supporting us throughout the selection and purchase process. Good range of jewelry for a small shop, and the prices were typically competitive.

    Old asian lady, Has no class or manner at all. Forced us to choose ring quickly so she can serve another customer. Keeping in mind that we went there first. (Looks like they just serve people on looks and was not treated equally) What a shame!!!

    If I could rate lower I would! An engagement ring needed to be resized with an estimation of 5-10 working days a month before engagement party. 3 weeks later to find it hasn’t been sent off and the sales associate Lynn giving little info and being rude over the phone. Incredibly disrespectful how they have treated the whole situation and now to not have the ENGAGEMENT ring the week of the ENGAGEMENT party. Will never return, would never recommend to anyone!

    Bought this triton wedding ring in 2016 and it broke.. the warranty is for 12 months and it’s not international. I’ve been served by Natalia 15028. - She said the ring it’s indestructible - This is not the first time a pice of jewellery from Michael Hill broke down and they can’t repair or replace., Cuatomer service are nice but still can help. The quality it’s below average and the after care service is even worse. Not recommended.

    I recently had an incredibly disheartening experience at this Albany store. The encounter left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor customer service I received. I am writing this review to share my ordeal and express my dissatisfaction with the store's management. Upon visiting the store to address a faulty clasp on a necklace, I was greeted by a lady who exhibited an incredibly rude and unwelcoming attitude. To make matters worse, she refused to smile or make any effort to create a pleasant shopping experience. It was evident that she was not interested in providing quality service to customers. The interaction took a turn for the worse when she took an unusually long time to examine the necklace. She then proceeded to take my phone from me, without any explanation, and started inspecting the receipt. As the necklace was a gift, the receipt had been sent to me electronically. The employee held onto my phone for an extended period until I had to ask for it back. This behavior was highly unprofessional and left me feeling uncomfortable and violated. Eventually, after my insistence, she reluctantly agreed to provide a replacement necklace. However, to my dismay, the new necklace she handed me had noticeable scratches on it. I immediately requested her to look for another one without imperfections, but she showed no interest and declared that there were no more available. Feeling trapped and without any other option, I reluctantly accepted the scratched necklace. Seeking a resolution for this issue, I called the store to speak with the manager. While he seemed apologetic, his response lacked the seriousness and urgency that I expected. It appeared as though he considered such behavior from his staff as normal, which was disheartening. Given the circumstances, I firmly believe that the manager should have gone out of his way to rectify the situation promptly and provide a suitable replacement. As a customer, I find this level of service and product quality completely unacceptable. When a customer encounters a problem, it is the responsibility of the store to address the issue with care and ensure that the customer leaves satisfied. Unfortunately, my experience at Michael Hill Albany fell far short of these expectations. I hope that my review serves as a constructive criticism for the management of the store. It is crucial for them to take customer feedback seriously, reevaluate their customer service practices, and strive for continuous improvement. Until such changes are made, I cannot recommend this store to others, as my experience was marred by rude behavior, indifference, and subpar product quality. I sincerely hope that my feedback leads to positive changes in their customer service approach and that future customers receive the exceptional service and products they deserve.

    I'm not a fan of leaving a one star review but the (Russian?) woman at this store was super unhelpful. Once she realised we were wanting to get our wedding rings serviced as part of our care plan instead of buying something she became rude and unhelpful. Will go to another store where they might actually want to help us. 1/10, garbage, wouldn't come here again.

    I was shocked to find the low reviews after visiting the store. The staff remembered me on several occasions and the went out of their way to assist a very picky fiancé. Admittedly the rings chosen were higher end and thus carried a big price tag. So that may have factored into the experience and service, as I did note we were the only ones provided drinks and plenty of time was given. Overall the experience seemed great compared to other stores visited and staff were great.

    Scammed. Absolutely devastated after finding out my partner had been lied to about his wedding ring. He chose a ring that they said would be a special order with the correct size which would take 8 weeks to arrive, and surprisingly only took 1, what did we pay extra for then?? On arrival, the ring was the wrong size. We were told his fingers would swell so it was best to keep it at that size. We were then told to buy the three year care plan so if it needed to be resized it would be covered (extra money again). As expected, his finger had not grown 2 sizes since the purchase and is needing to be resized smaller. My partner was scammed, bullied into paying more and despite asking multiple times what he was paying more money, for coerced into what are blatant lies. This experience has put a dampener on our wedding day which should be a magical memory. Do not buy from this branch, find the item you like and purchase somewhere else.

    Removed my 5 star to a 1!!! I went back in to collect necklace that had an extension put on and the old Asian lady in there is vile!!! After emailing to information to you, you explained you do reviews a few times a year and would look into it!!! Bloody disgusting. Won't be shopping here again!!!! Such great staff! Anita was so helpful and patient with my teen today. She listened to exactly what she wanted and gave her fabulous options. She loves her new necklaces. Thanks Anita. You are amazing!

    Took my ring in for sizing. Felt like I was just a pain being there and making work for them and the lady was very rude. She gave me no documentation after she took my very expensive diamond ring so if anything happened to it I have nothing to show it was given to them for re sizing. I’ll never go back to that store. I’ve also tried ringing to see when my ring will be ready for pick up and no one ever answers the phone.

    I went in for a repair of a necklace that I purchased from this store less than twelve months ago and the Asian lady that served me was very abrupt and didn’t explain that the amount she charged me was for a deposit towards a quote and not the cost of the repair. When I got the quote back it was half of the cost of the necklace just to replace a clasp which seemed excessive. When I went back and spoke to another salesperson they seemed surprised the quote was that high and apologised for the other salesperson not explaining properly. No offer of a refund for them not explaining their policy. Very poor customer service.
