We had a lovely evening having dinner with friends. We started with the spinach dip. Everyone loved it. For dinner I had the crab cakes (yum), my husband had the 10oz filet, my friend had the grouper and her boyfriend had the prime rib. Everyone loved the food. We ended with the chocolate cake and carrot cake. The carrot cake was served warm and we all thought it was great. The chocolate cake had more of a sweet flavor than a dark chocolate flavor. That was a little disappointing but we had a great time anyway. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The food presentation was very nice. I would definitely go back. It's pricey but it's not like we eat like this all the time so for special occasions or just a nice evening with friends it was nice.

Great little place to pop into! They had a wine menu with discounted wines, the Riesling was delicious. The charred artichokes are a MUST. So hard to find artichokes on menus these days. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The burger was good and so was the steak. The cheese dip was addictive. Loved!

This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit for happy hour. The prices are reasonable and the bar menu is good. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. The menu has changed after Covid but still one of my favorite places.

Placed a pick up order from the restaurant website. Ordered New York strip with not your ordinary Mac n cheese. Well now I know why the Mac n cheese is called that, it has onions in it. Tastes like onion cheese soup with noodles (onions still have a crunch to them). I wish the website provided the ingredients because I would have picked a different side dish. Now for the steak, requested medium temp, looks more like medium well. It has a strong char(burnt) taste. Steak should not be crunchy in my opinion. Its also hard to cut with a plastic butter knife lol. Needs more butter and seasoning. Not happy with this order. $50 down the drain.

Good food, portions are not the best on some items. Very similar to a Dawson's or Houston's. Service was decent. Drinks took forever after checking with the server multiple times. Table bread never made it to the table. Would have ordered more drinks too. Pricing was not too bad. Will go again and update my review.

The food is always outstanding. The staff is mostly attentive, though we never get the seating type that we request ahead. On our last visit, the floor next to our booth was filthy. Several staff and managers walked by repeatedly, even standing over while at our table, but it took half an hour before someone finally vacuumed the straw wrappers and onion rings.

We came here for my daughter's birthday. Our meal was delicious! For appetizers we had the spinach dip and calamari! I had filet mignon and the fries. I wasn't a big fan of the fries, but everything was still yummy! My daughter had filet mignon and broccoli. She said she really loved her meal. She also had a slice of key lime pie and she really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed the crabcakes entrees. Definitely sharable. But the star of the plate is their BROCCOLI!! Pictured is their very delicious Key Lime pie with crumb and fresh Whipped Cream.

We traveled all the way from New Jersey this evening to dine at J Alexanders. Best dining experience EVER! The food was EXCELLENT! We ordered the grouper with shrimp, salmon caesar salad, steak tacos and spinach dip. Looking forward to dining here again.

A bit disappointing on the food. Quality of service , staff and ambiance was great but the food wasn’t as great as the other reviews and pictures made them out to be . Our Mac and cheese bowls were goopy and runny while the crab cake style was dryer compared to one’s I’ve had . Biggest let down was the steak Maui which had a sweet tinge flavor to it , which wasn’t bad but wasn’t exactly what I was expecting for a marinated dish. None of these were bad just weren’t for us

First time visiting, and it was fabulous. Service was exceptional as was the wine list and food. Be sure and save room for the carrot cake and open with the avocado bomb!!

My hubby and I came here for our 24th anniversary. Tyler, our waiter, was very informative, kind and funny. My husband had the Prime Rib and I had the Rib Eye. They were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is very relaxing. When you go, ask for Tyler or Steve.

Based off the ratings I expected more. The Mac and cheese was bland and the French dip just felt plain. Atmosphere was nice enough and the staff friendly, but the food seemed lacking in my opinion. Drink prices were more in line for being in the city, as two adult beverages was more than my entire meal.

First time here, after a show in Oaks. Allyson was our server, and she was amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Not noisy at all, we were able to have a conversation during dinner and hear each other. Very relaxing, and did not feel rushed through the meal. Will be returning in the future. Thank you for a great experience. Kathy

I was really disappointed at the quality of the food. I got the Cajun Mahi Mahi. It was EXTREMELY salty. The baked potato was also salty but was good. The broccoli was undercooked and bland. The calamari was fully cooked but needed to be more crispy. I was very disappointed.

Place makes pretty decent steak. Side dish of some upscale macaroni was doooooope. The service and atmosphere was spot on. Quiet and dark. Very comfortable seating. Waiter was on point.

This place is our FAVORITE for a date or anniversary. Dress up and enjoy an excellent meal by soft light. Service here is by far the best. Food is fresh and perfectly cooked. We have never had a bad meal and have tried most things. Our favorites include the calamari, steak, crab cakes(BEST IN TRI-COUNTY AREA and 100% CRAB MEAT!!!!), chicken finger platter, carrot cake, and the coffee. Good prices for the amount of food. Definitely make a reservation. That review started way back when they opened and here we are in 2023 with the same opinion! This place is just such a hidden gem we absolutely love it. Who wouldn't!? Just look at that crab meat! Trust me, I seek out crab cakes. You cannot be these, even at top seafood restaurants at the shore!
