A place where locals eat. Not a tourist spot. Food is spicy and full of flavor. Beware the spicy sojouk is actually the hottest food we tried in Greece. Cooking is home style with multiple ingredients coming together in complex flavors. Get a table on the roof it is up a few flight of stairs but the atmosphere is great. Service is attentive. There is a deli on the ground floor where you can get some of the meats to take home.

Really great Greek food! It’s best if you make a reservation ahead of time especially for dinner since it gets full pretty quick. We were lucky we got there a little early and were able to talk the staff into letting us have a table without a reservation. They gave a free dessert of Greek yogurt with candied carrots and it’s literally the best thing ever!!

The best dinner we had in Athens! Busy, frenetic restaurant and deli counter that has traditional and delicious Greek and middle eastern dishes. Great selection of Greek wines and beers too. I cannot recommend this place enough and wish we had discovered it on our first night rather than our last. Everything was so good we over ordered but the bill was exceptionally reasonable (a fraction of what we paid at less amazing restaurants).

Simply delicious! The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks given it expands into an alley at the back. Service is very friendly - a bit slow at first but then the food all comes out super fast. The stuffed vine leaves and the dessert with yogurt were my top favorites. You can definitely eat your fill without breaking the bank and get some really homey flavours!

The food here is so delicious. Its incredibly cheap for the quality and the staff are very welcoming too. I think it's a must visit when you're in Athens. Great food, friendly staff, nice ambiance. We had green mixed salad, mackerel, cold-cut platter. All delicious. The complimentary dessert was yogurt with carrot jam. My first carrot jam experience was so satisfying that we bought a few bottles of carrot jam and tomato jam (came with cold-cut platter which also was delicious). The bread that came in a brown paper bag was anticlimactic, really can do without.

Karamanlidika is not to miss in Athens. I usually prefer to go for late breakfast or brunch. While being quite touristic, it has an amazing charm and serving very good quality food and service. This place is also a deli, thats why we started with the platter which had great local cuts. The surprisingly very special dish was the kefte, which is different to any other kefte and is more a sausage. The eggs dishes were special as well. All plates are great to share and the service was superb. To end things, they give you the wonderful greek treatment of yogurt with a delicious carrot jam. Will not hesitate to come back every time I am back in Athens.

Food is simply delicious and based on local cuisine. The venue is spectacular with amazing views from the top and of The Acropolis in the distance. Highly recommend getting the tasting menu and wine pairing - very good price consider the number of courses and quality. Make sure you book in advance though.

We sat in the terrace, it was a nice ambience and we loved the food. In the end they treated us with yoghurt and spoon sweets which was great. Tip: you can actually buy the meats you try if you want from their store so you can cook them at home.

Delicious, authentic and friendly - this place is the best Greek food I’ve had so far (and I’ve been hunting all over Athens for it). The menu has a large range of traditional appetisers, salads, seafood and main dishes - they are known for their cured meats but there are also vegetarian options. The wine selection includes rare Greek varieties and even biodynamic wines by the glass and/or bottle. All of the food came out quickly and was excellent. 10/10 recommend.

An enjoyable meal in a deli space. Friendly service and great produce. The food represent Karamanli greek cuisine and I wish I could have tried more of the menu because it all looks interesting. The pies were the standout - very crispy and light pastry filled with cheese and salami and quenched with a cooling tangy yoghurt. All the food was yummy though and it could get an extra star if I had the opportunity to taste their other dishes. What a fun way to experience authentic Greek cuisine. The mini sausages and chickpeas were our favourite. We even got dessert (yummy yogurt with marmalade) on the house!

Absolutely fantastic. Get here early or don’t be shocked if there’s a wait but it’s more than worth it. The hummus and homemade pita (right in front of you out of the oven) is amazing. You can tell the love that goes into this food. I had the spicy pita dish and my husband got the kebab both plates eaten clean. Operates as a deli too and is a lot of fun to eat here. The dessert on the house at the end was a beautiful treat too. Yogurt and carrots. And unexpected but delicious plate. Thank you!

My friend and I visited this place yesterday after searching for restaurants on trip advisor. We were looking for a more local and authentic place, hence why this place caught our attention. From the moment we stepped in, we felt very welcome. The staff was very friendly, professional and we loved the ambience. We tried multiple dishes and got a bottle of wine recommended by one of the waiters, this wine fit perfectly with our food. Apart from this, the prices are quite low for the quality they offer you. This has been the best place we have visited in our vacation so far and we will definitely go back here if we ever visit Athens again!

Just a couple of hundred meters past The Clumsies, one of the best bars in Athens, we can find Karamanlidika. And boy let me tell you: the menu will invite you to order until you're physically uncapable of having any more (which I did). We ordered four dishes - can’t quite remember the names but the pictures are below - and out of the four, one was superb and the other three was decent. Service was quick, though somewhat impersonal - understandable given the large volume of diners here. That said, they did accommodate two unannounced guests for us (we booked a table for two but ended up being a group of four), for which we were very appreciative. The decor was charming amidst a very noisy ambiance. Overall, it was a perfectly nice place for dinner, but that was about it. We just didn’t find too much that was special about this place that warranted the rave reviews.

This is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the center of Athens. The food and service has always been outstanding (last visit January 2022). The selections of wines are also real good. I can highly recommend them for a good meal out, if you’re visiting in summer try to book a table in advance (especially if it’s on the weekend).

The food was exceptionally tasty.. we had the cheese fried rolla and the ones with a dried beef charcuterie.. also the eggs were great! The place has lovely traditional greek music and has recipes not only from the present but also the past. Great service and prices!! We were going to visit the nearby Diporto as recommended but, we were instantly attracted to this one and don’t regret the decision at all! Well worth it and a must!
