Lovely cozy little place, with great service. Had grilled pork and by far its the best I have tasted in Greece. Price is very reasonable and highly recommended!

Picked Meat the Greek on a whim and they did not disappoint!! Our waitress recommended we get a Gyros Pork, traditional dressed and a Chicken Souvlaki dressed like a gyro. These were PHENOMENAL! The street is not overly crowded and we sat and people watched while we ate. Service was exceptional and everyone was very nice. Prices are great. The food is fresh and came out very quickly. Will probably takeaway next time because it’s the perfect walk about food. Highly recommend Meat the Greek!

AMAZING!!! Do not miss this stop while in Athens. Located in central Athens, but tucked away on a side street out of the main hustle and bustle. Food is so amazing but so cheap! 2.60 euros for a souvlaki wrap. Incredible. Super cute place to sit and rest your feet with amazing food. 10/10

Perhaps the best souvlaki spot we've tried! The pita bread was soft, the meat was tender and savory, everything clearly homemade with care. We also ordered a vegan option with falafel and it was one of the best we've ever had. The salad and fries were delicious and the yogurt with cherry jam was very tasty! The fact that it's a bit hidden away from all the touristy places, makes it even better. Highly recommended!

Simple and delicious. Quick off main area and reasonable price. Terrace seats and bar seats available but no interiors seats. But service was friendly and courteous.

After a long day walking around Athens, we decided in the evening to "go native". Searched Google maps And MEAT THE GREEK scored highly, the restaurant was impeccably clean, tables were wiped and hygienic towelling was put on top of the tables. We chose to have the chicken skewers and the pork skewers with greek style fries. Absolutely delicious 😋 Finish it off with a Coke...BOOM 💥 great meal. Highly recommend you visit meat the greek.

One of the tastiest Gyros I’ve ever had. Meat of high quality, delicious seasoning and excellent portion size. Staff super attentive. We were sat outside and they made every effort to help us in when it started to rain! Definitely recommend

They say that good things should be tasted more than once. So I tried for the second time a Gyros in Athens, this time in this cozy restaurant that is very centrally located. I ordered a Biftekakia wrap. It was very tasty and very economical, I left very satisfied for less than 5 euros (coke included) even though the portion is not that big. The staff is very attentive and helpful. I would definitely come back if I return to Athens. I recommend it if you come to the modern center of Athens.

Amazing food and service. It is very popular so you should expect a wait during busy lunch time. We ordered Greek salad and gyros and they were really recommended.

The portion is huge with great price, only €11. The pork platter itself can be shared for 2 people. The quality of the meat is great. This is the best Gyros I’ve ever had. The location is in the middle of the center with shopping mall around. The pork gyros has pork, onion, tomato, fries, and tzatziki sauce. The Greek yogurt is amazing.

Best souvlaki in Athens! We had the chicken and beef gyros platters plus the tzatziki. It was all fantastic, especially the chicken which was delicious! The owner was very charming and talked us through the origin of the produce. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and the setting was perfect, in a bustling area but not too loud. Would definitely return!!

Was wandering the streets looking to try some souvlaki and stumbled upon this place. Great service very attentionnée, food was quite good, though maybe just lacking a tad of seasoning or salt for my taste. Presentation was good, Chicken and pork souvlaki were excellent 4.5/5, beef wrap was decent 4/5 and the dessert was very good, but a bit too sweet 4/5. Prices were very affordable, maybe 15€ for all that. Overall, very good place, would recommend.

This was my first time dining here and I just stumbled across it while exploring Athens. The service was swift and the servers were polite and accommodating. I ordered the Gyros sandwich and it was one of the best I've had yet. The bread was very soft and floury. The meat was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was also a good price for an Athens eatery. I will be returning in the future and will also recommend.

The food was really delicious! The price was great for Athens too! We had chicken gryos and pork souvlaki, it tastes so fresh because we could see it being cooked in front of us. The fries were yummy too! We were so full after. The owner was super friendly and even gave us a Greek yogurt dessert made by his grandmother, on the house! I would say it made our night.

Perfect! The only shortcoming might be is that you might wait a bit for a table as people know that its a great place. Greek salad is a must! That feta is from another world. Souvlakis were also excellent, lots of sauce. Friendly service with the owner among them. Prices very reasonable. Totally recommend.

Despite having left Athens a few days ago, I still remember the amazing food from Meat the Greek. During our short stay in Athens, we came back here every day for one of our meals just to satisfy our cravings for their delicious food. The highlight was their chicken souvlaki. On top of amazing food, service was fast and efficient and the gentleman to whom I believe is the owner greeted us with such a warm welcome, you couldn't ask for better hospitality. Will definitely be recommending people to visit here!! Bonus is that the food isn't expensive either!!

If you are looking for fresh amazing Greek food then this is the place. Everything is made fresh everyday. If you want to have the gyros, then come early as they sell out by early afternoon. We had the chicken wrap and pork wrap, both delicious. The staff and atmosphere are great. Casual and good. The owner is top notch and makes sure everyone leaves happy. We came here for dinner two nights in a row. We will be back next time in Athens.

Hands down the best gyro we ate in Athens. Meat was tender and seasoned well. Fries were crispy, and I loved the tzatziki sauce. The sauce to pita ratio was perfect as well. I recommend coming early. My husband had the platter. I definitely think that could be split between two people. We came when they first opened and by time we left there were a few people standing waiting for tables.

Not quite up to the hype for us on this trip- the food came out waaay too fast and the meatballs were dried out, attesting to the fact they were not freshly made. Food still had good flavor, the fried feta with honey is an absolute star, but this place is more like a 4.1-4.2 kinda spot imo

Delicious Greek salad and gyro wrap. Only downside was that the shaved meat had run out by the afternoon. But the grilled chicken was juicy and the balance of toppings in the wrap was perfect. The bread was fluffy and fresh.

Super delicious food! Meat is sooo tender and well seasoned. It's usually quite bussy. The service is really fast and nice. Perfect location. Recommendations!

A little laneway restaurant with THE best service in town, and the food is excellent too! So good we came back a second time during our stay in Athens. Highly recommend!

If you're after a gyros, I recommend this place over Kostas. The wait time's shorter, there's seating and there's chips in your gyros.

Delicious Greek souvlaki in a cute central Athenian street with lots of stores and restaurants. The pita was delicious and paired perfectly with the tzatziki. We got the 3 piece chicken souvlaki platter which came with sauce, tomatoes and fries, and it was delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and well cooked. Don’t be tricked by the pink-ish appearance of the chicken, as it is thigh and it is normal for it to look that way— it is not undercooked. Fair prices, friendly service— they even brought a charging port to our table to charge our phones at our request. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a great souvlaki experience!!

Quality vs. quantity . Yes, you can find cheaper but their products were surprisingly good. Friendly staff. Worth visiting.

We chose meat the greek to try the first souvleke we ate in Athens and it was the best compared to the other places we tried. It's worth a try. We also ordered the Greek salad which was fantastic.

Wow!!!!! I don’t have any other words for my experience at Meat the Greek. I was honored to have met the owner George who told me about where he sources all his ingredients from Greece and that everything is fresh never frozen! I wasn’t surprised seeing as I already had thought the quality was amazing, and honestly it’s the best gyro I’ve ever eaten. I liked it so much I went back twice in one day. Also their Greek yogurt and desserts were equally delicious. As if that’s not enough all of the staff is extremely friendly including Kirilos, and everyone I met. You can tell they put a lot of passion into making sure everyone enjoys their meal and leaves happy. I saw some incredible looking meat platters go by me too that looked delicious. I got the chicken and pork souvlaki and can’t recommend those enough. Dreaming of the next time I can make it to Athens so I can go here! Thanks George!

Let me tell you that if you are looking for the best place in Greece to have amazing Souvlaki, then look no further! During my 10 day stay in Greece, I visited many different restaurants recommend to me. However, little did I know that I would stumble upon the best restaurant of them all to have delicious Souvlaki by chance on Google Maps. The name Meat the Greeks popped out to me as I was searching my next dinner spot. Arriving to the location, the staff were friendly, professional, and truly take pride in what they do. I ordered the chicken Souvlaki platter which came with Greek fries and pita bread. I also ordered the Greek salad and tzatziki on the side. All I have to say is WOW! This place truly hit the spot! Highly recommend if you are looking for a delicious meal here in Athens!!

Definitely one of the best in town to enjoy souvlaki. I’ve tried pork, chicken and beef plates and they were all sublime. Even the Greek salad worth a mention, super! Excellent quality/price spot.

We stopped at Meat the Greek after touring the Acropolis and we couldn't have had a better experience. We had the chance to meet the owner George and we immediately saw his passion behind the restaurant. Everything is hand made and they use local farmers to source all their ingredients. You can taste it in the food. The souvlaki's we had were some of the best. What a gem in Athens. The prices are incredible too! We spent 23 euro and got 3 wraps, fries, and a few drinks. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

this place is amazing! The staff were nice, the food is good quality, big quantities and very good price, and they give you free tap water! (which they don’t do in a lot of places in Athens) Totally recommend it.

Being to the place a few times in one day. Quality of the food, service, ambiance, staff all at the top. All hand picked, cooked with love. Met George, the owner, lovely gentleman that cares about customers. Wish this place prosperity and to open another spot soon 🙏🏼

Hands down the best souvlaki in town. Super clean and organized kitchen with a professional chef. Very attentive staff. Amazing experience overall. Talked to the to the owner which explained us about all the food, which is all made in house. Quality ingredients which you really can taste. The bill for 2 people was €15 including drink. A must try when you are in Athens! Will be back for more food! Clean toilets as well which is rare in Athens! Both vegetarian and vegan options

Classic and quick Greek food that hits the spot! The platter is good to share and has all the a good amount of fries on top. The kebabs were juicy and really filling over all. Greek Salad is pretty big and sharable too. It's near Monstraki Square and other city highlights so definitely give it a visit and add it to your trip!

  • 5/5 Andrés Rubio B. 2 years ago on Google
Nice, quick. Friendly, the food is cheap but amazing. The Greek salad is very nice and so are the fries. Good portions so don't order too much.

Meat The Greek. I stumbled upon this tiny, hidden gem. Very polite people and great service. And the food is simply just awesome and so delicious that it feels heavenly. Would go back there next time I am in Athens and will recommend it to friends and family visiting Athens

Located off central Mitropoleos Sq. Cosy, intimate ambiance. Delightful welcome by owner. Decidedly best ever chicken souvlaki & crisp fresh fries. Cool, metropolitan atmosphere.

We found this shop by chance last year, because it was right around the corner from our hotel. We were already impressed by the price-performance ratio and the quality last year, so this year we were the first to go there again when we visited Athens again. It tastes amazingly delicious and in our opinion there you can have the the best pita in the entire city of Athens. If you stroll through Athens and are hungry for a small snack on site or to go, you absolutely have to stop by!

Came to Athens looking for a Gyros and Meat the Greek delivered it. Great ingredients, great taste, great price. It's also placed in quiet street with nice outside seating, you couldn't ask for more. One of these places I would go weekly if I had it back home.

  • 5/5 Casey S. 2 years ago on Google
Small place with some seating outside. We tried 3 of the different wraps and they were all fantastic. My favorite was the pork gyro. Had a nice Greek beer with it to wash it all down. Must try if in Athens.
