Indian Food available

Always my favourite pit stop for Indian food in Mauritius, their paneer masala, baingan bharta and bhindi are my personal faves! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for authentic homemade food away from home!

Happy Rajah serves typical Indian meals... Their blend of sauces and masala is delicious. The fish, chicken and meat is always very tender and properly cooked, due to it being very nicely marinated in their special mix of spices. During lunch time they have a thali special, try it !! All the flavors in one plate. Their staff is always welcoming and friendly. The service is very quick as well.

The food was excellent! Really loved it. The service was very quick, the welcome warm. The atmosphere lovely. We walked in, ordered, ate a full meal with drinks and dessert, and left within 30mins!

Service is good and fast. There is a nice variety of indian curries including vegetarian curries. Setting is quite nice as well. The cheese naan is delicious!

ALERT!!!This is call scamming and fooling ppl. Cmon, restaurants are not cheap we all know.. but these ppl are ripping off the Mauritian public. They are more than expensive as compared to other indian restaurants around the island. You cant sell 2 PRAWNS for Rs240! Yeah, some of us are cooks as well dear Happy Rajah. You slice two praws into 4 and you make it worth that much! Its not about money..but the corner street vendors are doing better than you. Your coconut gravy taste no coconut..you put milk and say coconut milk. Thats not fair, we eat alot of indian foods but urs are fake, unmarinated..naan were so thin and small cuts,for this time your food is minus stars..i would not recommend ur outlet.!!! Replying to your answer below: Fyi, we ate at your resto this was the 5th or 6th time, its not out type to have any kind of malicious intent or whatever. So , do not try to hide with these long responses.. what i wrote is true.. a rating of 6 persons. The online store does not give you the possibility to choose the delivery time of the food order, it tells you once paid that the order will be delivered in 90 minutes. We had to call to inform that the order was for the early evening and we asked for early delivery as it says on the website they open at 17.30 hours - earliest possible delivery time however was 19.00 hours. As food wasn't delivered at 19.10 we had to call and were told that the food is ready but the driver wasn't there yet but is coming to deliver at 19.30 hours. That is bad customer care as delivery was confirmed for 19.00 hours. The driver finally arrived with our food order at 19.45 hours and missed his tip. The presentation of the food was poor as the used containers became soft -the food must have been too long in it- and whilst opening the first Biryani the same landed on the floor. The containers for chicken and lamb dishes were strong and solid, why not using similar container for Biryani? The taste of all the food was good to very good, however due to late delivery the food was no longer hot and we don't like this at all. The different naan bread was cold as well and therefore bad to eat. A rather disappointing experience for a lot of money, however we don't mind if service is good. We were recommended by a friend.

Best indian food I've had in Mauritius. Every time I have to try the chicken vindaloo and something in the creamy coconutty sauce, for which I recommend the Malai Kofta. Beware though, the spice level of the chicken vindaloo is not for everyone. I'm no judge to know authenticity, but this place makes everything taste good. The Naans don't go rubbery and are delicate, without being chewy.

Very good authentic Indian veg food we tasted here . Attentive staff. Ample place to sit . One can reserve tables for groups. Open on all seven days. We organized small party here. Menu was well served. They have two more outlets in Mauritius.

We are a family of 5 people, all vegetarian. We had high expectations from the restaurant, but the food was ROTTEN!! The Daal was sour, the chilli panner and manchurian had the same old, sour sauce. we dont know if they put much effort in their non-veg, but for veg, you can expect it all to be old. WOULD not go again unless we want to get sick, and we would not recommend it at all! You can see from the picture our leftovers (one bite per person, no more, waste of money) !

I guess fame got to them! Happy Rajah used to be one of our favorite family restaurants but unfortunately, the staff which I think is new is so untrained. They do not have proper hospitality training and no proper communication skills. Trying to call to make a booking is another pain! They just keep disconnecting their phone..

Staff were very kind and friendly. Nice and pleasant atmosphere. Tried the butter chicken, spicy chicken, lamb curry and seafood platters. The food was okay, could have been a lot better. The platters aren't large and may not be enough if you're ordering only these. Dessert (rasmalai) also tasted like the ones sold in supermarkets. Took a lot of time to finally be served our main course. Average rating.
