I'm a huge lover of geology, so to see something like this just along the highway was amazing to say the least. Also being along the route to Pulangbato falls is a bonus. Makes the trip efficient!

Sufur vents smells like egg! Free to enjoy near local shop can buy water/beer/snak. Hot steam is comming out of earth. Near shop there is a river crossing check that too.

There’s really nothing much to see except for the vents which were amazing. It’s just beside the main road so you really need to be careful when taking pictures. Not the best time to go at noon, I would say, especially during hot weather, as it can get really warm. But we enjoyed the trip going there. Mother nature at its finest.

This site has become an instant tourist spot for obvious reasons. I passed through this on my way to Pulangbato Falls. I knew I had to stop, appreciate the place, and take photos of it. While it’s fascinating, it’s not properly guarded and safety may be an issue. Watch yourself especially if you’re near the steamy rock walls.

    1. Short visit will do about 10-15mins I guess depending on how many people are already there who are taking lots of pictures. 2. There’s no traffic enforcers all the time so be careful when taking pictures. 3. It’s a mountainside sulfur vents. Smoke is coming out of the rocks. 4. Drive up is not scary cause there are road barricades at the side.

First time seeing something like this. The place is quite hot though but it is as expected. Fascinating stop and you can just park near the road to take some pictures.

Include this in your itinerary when in oriental (Dumaguete/Valencia) coz there's not much to see except the smoke coming out of the mountain. But personally, it satisfied my curiosity 😉. Be wary of vehicles when taking pictures as the mountain is right by the main thoroughfare.

Smells like a boiled egg. Not good to inhale for a long time. Also, be careful when you pass by here since the smokes from the vents may also cover the road like a fog, especially when it's raining, which will make it difficult for you to see the road. Located just beside the road, the Pulantubig Sulfur Vents are actually one of several vents within the Cuernos de Negros volcanic complex. Others are found in Brgy. Balili, fronting Palinpinon, and others in Mt. Talinis. The Vents were also featured in several travel shows and many vlogs. It is now a popular tourist attraction.
