This was more of a technical hike than I expected but worth it. 355 steps to go down and then bouldering. I recommend proper footwear and make sure they're water proof as you'll have to cross the river a few times. I went solo didn't book a tour. It's a 30 minute drive from Dumaguete on a scooter. Parking is by donation. I went on Sunday morning at I was the only one there. There's a cafe at the entrance of you don't bring a water bottle but one. A guide is necessary which is 250 pesos plus admission and facility fee of 120 pesos. I suggest using the facilities before the trek as the ones on the way to the waterfall are creepy.

Definitely 5 stars! You will need a life vest and two pairs of footwear to truly enjoy the falls. The first pair of footwear should be sturdy enough to descend and then ascend around 400 sometimes slippery steps and a couple a hundred feet of dry hiking. Then you change into wet-shoes or sandals and put on your life vest, hike for around 500 feet or 150 meters through the water and rapids and occasionally strong current. The water is cold! Once you get to the falls, they are spectacular! Different pools are of different depths and different strengths of water current. When you reverse your steps and get back to the top, try the snack stall there. The ladies are cheerful and pleasant. The snacks and beverages never tasted so good. There’s also a small observation deck up top to get a great view of the surroundings and relax by stretching out those muscles. So peaceful. So worth it.

One of my favorite places for trekking. I give this five stars because to get here is easy and the entrance fee is quite cheap (php20). And if you are first timer to this fall, there is some people that try to offer you guides and you can hire them (php200), but for your information that it is not required so you can say no and don’t let them people to say to you that you must hire one. Because the trekking trail is not that hard or difficult so you don’t need one to show you the way. But if you like to have someone to carry things for you or taking pics for you then just get one (make sure that you get one that knows how to take pics because from my experience the guide that I had was really bad in taking pics. I ended up taking pics with my tripod).

It's quite a challenging hike through to the waterfalls (only about 10-15min) and definitely worth it if you never seen big waterfall (100 feet/48m height). Make sure to bring some comfy flip flops as you will be going through the river on rocks and be careful. You can get a guide for 100php per person but its not necessary really as you just follow the stairs down and then path to the waterfalls. Also I would not recommend swimming there as the current was quite strong and if you would get close to waterfall it will probably kill you.

I had no idea what to expect before arriving at Casaroro Falls. It was a totally blind pick and I have to admit I went in a little unprepared. When asking the locals about it they said it was just a short walk in. I had no idea that meant a 300 step journey into the jungle combined with water crossings. Let me tell you, it was AWESOME. You start at the top of the mountain. There is a wonderful open air eatery with a rooftop view that you can stop at before or after your adventure. Once ready, you begin a steep 300 step descent down the side of the mountain and into the jungle. Along the way you will witness prehistoric sizes of fauna which was epic to see in person. There are small landings along the way so that you can rest if needed. Going down, you won't need them much. Coming back...however! Once you make it to the bottom the guides will begin leading you further up the river and deeper into the jungle. Along the way you will have multiple river crossings. There were 3 on my journey. All three required passing through knee deep water that was moving quickly at the time. The guides will create a human rope with themselves though and assist everyone across. I did not wear the right shoes for this! Come prepared! At the end of the journey you will arrive to the falls. There is a huge Boulder that you can stand on to get that Instagram worthy shot. We all took turns climbing it and taking photos. Once you are finished the journey back begins. I was running on almost no sleep and was fighting a stomach bug so I had not eaten much in the days leading up to this so I was extremely low energy. The climb back was intense. That 300 steps will remind you of all the good things in life! Take breaks if you need to. When we reached the top and after collapsing on the ground to recover for a few moments, we put in some food orders and started to relax. The food was very impressive and the coconut was absolutely a amazing. You will feel like you can touch the clouds.

Refreshing falls, few tourists (3 out of 3 times, it felt like we had the place all to ourselves, and only came across other visitors on our way out - even when we lingered for about half an hour), wonderful lush ferns at the entrance and en route to the falls. Looks more natural / uncommercialized than Pulangbato Falls and entrance to Casaroro is only P20/head. 😎 The trek to the waterfalls is relatively easy, but prepared to climb up a good amount of steps on your way out. Even relatively fit people may feel winded. If you have senior guests with bad knees, you may want to consider taking them to Pulangbato instead. πŸ™ƒ

BLUF: Path to the falls is washed-out. Update Dec-2022: Still washed out. PRO: Very natural … once you pass the restaurant (placed intentionally in front of the path entrance). CON: Cannot get to the falls safely without bringing ropes (to cross the stream). Un-maintained, significantly damaged, slippery stairs and path. NOTES: - VERY steep steps with railings and path missing in sections. A fall would surely incur serious harm or death. - Long steep climb to/from the stream. Expect a strenuous 10 minute climb up with multiple breaks. - The path and bridge along the stream (to the falls) is washed out. - Based on the debris, the stream clearly gets multi-meter high floods that engulf the path along the stream.

Amazing Disney Avatar ride in real life. Parking lot holds around 20 cars and there was only one other when we arrived Ed on a Wednesday morning. So glad we made the short 30-minute drive and 90-min round trip short hike. At the parking lot the building houses the guides and a registration book. The fee is PHP100 each person. To cover fees and the guide. After the 300 cement step descent there are another ~60 metal rebar welded steps to the trail that is under 1/3 mile once you descend the stairs. Plan to get your feet wet as you cross the river twice and can be a bit slippery. Once to the falls, we swam in the cool water and the guide cautioned us to avoid an area where rocks have fallen…and to stay away from the falls themselves due to the currents. It was an amazing outing that took under 3 hours total.

Wow - Casaroro Falls exceeded my expectations and then a little bit blew my mind! 😍 Easy to find via Google maps on a motorbike and then an obvious path to follow the entire way to the falls. Went on a Sunday around 1pm and though there were a few people at the bottom of the stairs at the stream we were the only ones at the falls for almost an hour. Magical! Ignore the fallen bridges along the way. Yes, you cross the water a few times (just take off your flip flops, watch your step and you'll be fine) and though there is a bit of current, the water wasn't much higher than my knees the whole way. Only a ten minute easy walk from the bottom of the steps and totally worth swimming in the pool underneath the falls. Highly recommend!

This was an AWESOME experience! The trail down can be a bit stressful on the legs, but coming back up is even worse. I advise you to proceed with caution. However, the experience is wonderful and worth it when you get to the waterfall.

We paid 20 pesos here, and thought it was cheap to see the waterfalls, the 20 peso they said was for the way fee to go to the falls but how can we even walk there when there is nothing to walk bridge is broken not even walkable, its about a half hour walk or more because its not walkable it is so dangerous and they had advertise this on the city website which i dont advise, bec if someone falls here and or got into accident, it is impossible to even call for help as there is no signal! We are lucky to get back to the restaurant and or entrance, and as i was saying i immediately confronted the staff that how can you guys stay open when it is too dangerous out there? One just replied that 20 pesos is a fee for the way, and going to the falls is at your own risk! I said really? You just told us that now after we survived and slipped too many times!!! I dont recommend this! Fix your way and have someone there before you advertise this place! Its not safe!

The height alone is the reason enough for us to visit the incredibly single-drop waterfall. From the parking space, it's more than 300 steps down and around 10-minute hike for you to see and witness the beauty of the waterfall. Wait, there's more, another 300 plus steps back to the top, carrying my 50-pounds 3-year-old daughter. For me, it's the best exercise haha. So tiring, but worthy. For sure, it won't be my last.

Traveled to Valencia to see this great wonder. It was worth taking more than 300 steps down and back to witness this single drop waterfall. Thanks to our supportive guide, and though I made a major slip approaching the falls, it was the powerful energy of the roaring water that made me proud of myself for making it close to the falls. This is a must-see indeed. You have to pay 200 for the guide and 40 pesos entrance fee. They have a resto bar where you can have meals with family or friends.

Easy hike, need two cross through the water a fee times. Nothing to worry about. The waterfall issue amazing and swimming in its pool. OMG you shouldn't miss it while visiting Dauin. We did not take a guide, they play this game at the entrance whereas they will try and force you to take one. We didn't agree to it.

Fantastic waterfall!! Great walk through the jungle of about 20 minutes. You do need a guide/ local/ tricycle driver to lead you the way (guide costs about 100 pesos)

Wow! What a great waterfall! I was really surprised about the height and amount of water. Take a bath in the basin it's really refreshing after the walk. Lots of stairs, so you should be fit. I appreciated the walk to the falls there are butterflies, big bamboo trees and ferns and other tropical plants. It's really worth going there!

This is one of the most iconic waterfalls for me! I go places based on where the best waterfalls are and this is probably my #1. It's a long walk and I have bad knees so it was hard. I also didn't have the best shoes! But way worth it. Also loved the cold water. It wasn't as cold as some waterfalls I've swam in but definitely would have loved it to be sunnier the day I went! 10/10 recommend!

After a lengthy trek you'll be greeted by a view of this majestic falls. The sound of the water splashing down, the birds singing in the air and just the pure tranquility and peacefulness will leave a lasting impression. This is only for the adventurous, the trek back up the stairs and into the cafe will be tiresome but the experience you had on the falls is still worth the visit.

The path is not walkable - or it’s way to dangerous . Do not do it . Nobody did at least cut away the Fallen Trees on the stairs or down the river bed . It’s really very slippery to walk on the stones in the riverbed . If you really want to do it , bring you Neopren shoes , a water resistant bag and hope nothing is happening down there as your phone is not working on The Valley . Every concrete path or bridge is broken there . I don’t know why you pay entry for this dangerous way. At least they could take a bit care of this to make it more walkable for everyone . At the end big wooden logs are hiding the ways so you have to climbe or swim . Just be prepared of what’s coming up to you !

Beautiful view and a great water fall there are over 300 steps to get to view the falls. The steps are slippery and you have to cross more slippery rocks and stream so be careful. The worst part is the climb up!

It was a tiring hike going down and back up but the falls were breathtaking. It felt like we were in Jurassic Park. It was a serene place and very relaxing. You can also eat lunch in the restaurant and go camping near the falls.

The falls are beautiful, but it’s very crowded. Also, the noise from the motorcycles taking tourists up and down the short distance from the entrance destroys the peaceful atmosphere

These waterfalls are great to visit if you are based in Dumaguete or Dauin. There are stairs and then there's a short hike to reach to falls (prepare to get wet) but it's one of the more easier waterfall treks I've done in the Philippines

  • 5/5 Lee J. 11 months ago on Google
It was just as amazing as the photos reveal. I highly recommend this destination on your visit to this area. Dumaguete is always one of my favorite areas of the Philippines.
