A table landform natural mountain. An altitude of 4078 ft a.s.l. Located above Chipude village. Visible La Gomera landmark. La Fortaleza was a place of religious worship for natural inhabitants Guanches. A hiking trail leads to the top of the mountain but it's a way for experienced or young tourist. Personally I, as an old boy, couldn't reach the top in January 2017. I think the top view for the horizon can be stunning.

Hell of a walk up, not for the faint hearted. If it's very windy don't attempt the final part as it is steep, narrow and exposed. Views from the top are great, it was windy on our visit, so hats were flying.

Beautiful view from the top. Not for people with fear of heights. The path is clear and solid for hikers with sure footing.

Nice view from the Fortaleza. The way to the top is a little bit challenging and one should not be afraid of hight. The view to Garajonay as well as to the sea is stunning. On the he top you lay also spot some archeological gems.

Our guide book recommended this if you travel with kids. Our kids would have probably made it, but for us this was too steep and difficult to climb, so we turned at a saddle, where it got steep on both sides, short before the top. Still some good views for us! (Somebody please post photos what is there on the top!)

Der Rother Wanderführer hat die Tour schwarz eingestuft. Also sehr schwer. Bist du schon mal Seekrank geworden? Hast beim Fliegen ( im Flugzeug) angst? Es gibt keinen Handlauf! Sehe nie nach unten! Immer Felsenkontakt. Der Weg ist in Stein gemeißelt und somit sicher.
