Omg what a great place for brunch! First off, it's huge! So there really wasn't a wait. Secondly the servers were so friendly and the menu is also HUGE! SO MANY OPTIONS! I opted for the chicken and waffles and my fiancé had the french toast will eggs. All delicious. I also had a mimosa which was well made. Great portions! Will def re visit.

I was browsing Grubhub to place an order at this restaurant & called to ask about a special request not on the menu. The lady was professional & stated that the restaurant offered delivery services as well. I placed the order with the restaurant directly & was grateful I did. All the food tasted great & was packaged nicely. The delivery person was nice also informed me that I was out of their delivery area, to which I informed him that the lady said I could place it over the phone & it would be delivered. My order total was close to $100. I’ll definitely use Grubhub to reorder & I may even visit this establishment as everything was great! A big thank you to the restaurant for fulfilling my order.

Short Version: Family-owned, classic style diner in a clean, modern atmosphere with quality food. Long Version: The aesthetic when you walk in is simple, but gives you the feel of high-class dining (Their front exterior gives the same feel). They were very busy, but my aunt and I were greeted warmly and sat immediately. Very clean restaurant, attentive service. We ordered the wheat pancakes, challah french toast, bacon, and sausage (I loved that the sausage was a real split link). It was a wonderful Sunday outing <3

What a great diner. Super fast service (and kind and funny). I got the Monte Cristo with potato salad. Generous portions and delicious. 3 people the bill was $60. Great value for money!

Very fast and friendly service, the food was amazing and one of the only times I've gone to a diner with free coffee refills and the coffee doesn't taste like water. The serving sizes were large and well worth their price and I'm so sad that I found this gem of a restaurant a week before moving away from valley stream. If you're looking for a lovely place for breakfast/brunch look no further! I've yet to try their lunch/dinner but I had their Quiche as well as their corned beef hash and Caesar salad. Boyfriend had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Very yummy 10/10 would go again. Also watching the connection that the waitresses had with some of the customers was so wholesome it made my heart explode. Just hearing one of the servers as she saw a regular and looks at him and goes "Having the usual?" Another was talking to an elderly couple that were on a date and treating them with so much kindness and respect. You don't see that kind of genuine kindness a lot anymore. Amazing that this place has such great relationships with their restaurant goers.

Needed a place for breakfast and this place came up on the list. At 1st, I was not sure about it since it seemed empty from the outside. The facade of the restaurant is very nice. Upon entering, was greeted by the manager or owner with a slight accent. What a nice guy!!!! Also, was amazed how almost full the place was. You would not even suspect the amount of families eating inside based on the quietness of outside. As we were shown to our booth, all you can see with the waitresses were plates of all forms of eggs, pancakes and waffles; all looking good. The service is fast and furious. If you are hungry, they will have your plate ready in a matter of minutes. The coffee is fresh, the orange juice is plentiful and fresh. What is the final point is again the guy up front. As you see him seating people, cleaning tables, getting to go orders ready with so much energy and with a huge smile on his face. This place has been here since 1961. You feel so welcome here.

Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The salad dressing that comes with the Greek salad is amazing!!!! Food has great quality and everything was fresh! I will definitely be back!

Mitchell’s has become a quarterly breakfast staple when it comes to good diner food. Vivi works super hard to ensure you are cared for, serviced well and more than satisfied with your food. Every time I visit it’s a lovely experience.

Service was ok, but the food was just not good... (Bland, dry, cold). The prices were also pretty high, especially considering the quality of the food, and they take out their own tip. Safe to say this is my first and last time eating here.....

A great dinner. It hit the spot. Had a French onion soup and skirt steak with 2 sunny side eggs with a side of sausage. I'm happy.

Mitchell's is my favorite eatery by far! I always order the chicken francaise over linguini. Portions are huge and hits the spot every time! This family owned eatery truly makes you feel at home!

It's a neighborhood staple, just a more spacious diner, nice diner. Now, for the food and service. A+ on both counts. Friendly and quick service unless there's a rush. Even then, they make it their business to be as quick as possible. Portions are very generous. I was with a family of 5. 6 different dishes, 4 take out boxes at the end, everyone happy with their choices and leftovers. We had to leave room for dessert. We shared 3. Even desserts are generous and quite good. It is a very good place for families or business meals.

Food was good, service was good. A nice comfortable atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that for dessert they only had store bought items. I would have liked to have fresh baked desserts.

We came to this place because it was the only diner in the area that had banana split (based on our Google search). The banana split itself was awesome but the food was just ok. The omelette was overcooked and under-seasoned. The service was great though we had to wait quite a bit for our order to arrive. The one thing that was disappointing was the ‘gratuity charge’ that was already included in the bill. It was like 20% gratuity. It was in the gratuity range but still we’d rather decide ourselves as to how much we’d like to tip. We weren’t even informed about that charge so if we didn’t ask, we could’ve paid double gratuity fees. They also charged the so-called ‘check-out fee’ which we assumed was like a credit card fee but we weren’t sure because we didn’t ask to confirm. So it was a bit of a rip-off. I think it was going to be our first and last experience dining in this restaurant.

We were visiting the area and found this gem of a diner. Food was excellent. Everyone was friendly and they made us feel like family.

Went for breakfast with my family and it was a great time. It was Saturday so it was very busy but still very good service. Everything is cooked the way you ask for it. And the staff was friendly and quick despite being so busy. Definitely will be back!

It was my first time at the diner today and the atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. I ordered Belgium waffles and it was best waffles I ever had. I just wish I could get two with one order. A+ haha

Refreshingly delicious! They have the BEST macaroni salad side dish!!! Everything we tried over 4 days was excellent. That's pretty amazing. The staff is fun and friendly!

The food was amazing. We stopped in several times over our trip. We always had the best wait staff, and the food was always perfect. Their ice cream is great. Next time I am out that way, i plan to return.

I appreciate the pleasant ambiance that Mitchell’s portrays. There is never a time that I come in and I am not greeted happily by a staff member. I love that I am almost always able to seat myself and that a waitstaff employee is ready for me in no time. I always get my favorite, the classic turkey burger with lettuce, tomato, and cheese, with a side of steak fries - and let me tell you, I have not been disappointed at any point in the last 10 times I came here haha I will always be back! This is one of my favorite spots in Valley Stream.

Brunch was deliciously awesome, I had Salmon with Broccoli and Grits YUMMY! Large portions, affordable pricing, nicely seasoned, and attentive wait staff. Overall, everything you want in your dining experience. I can't wait to eat here again and try more entrees on the menu.

This is the most unprofessional diner I have ever experienced in my entire life. The Waiter needs more coaching and development when it comes to his customer service skills. He took an order from the individual I was with brought her food. The waiter waited on other customers that came in the diner. After twenty minutes sitting he never returned to ask if I have decided on what I wanted to order. I had to stop him to remind him I never ordered and the person I with have finished eating her food. I highly recommend not patronizing this diner.
