Today I ate breakfast at Suzie's Cafe & Catering. My server was Michelle. It was moderately busy. I ordered eggs, sausage and toast. When the sausage arrived I immediately noted that they had been cooked in a deep fat fryer, not fried on the grill. Two of the sausages had overcooked and were hard as rocks. I pointed this out to the server who immediately made arrangements for me too change my meat selection to ham.The ham was good, but not what I wanted. She was told that all the sausages were cooked in the deep fat fryer today, and they could not cook some on the grill properly as they were too busy for that. I also spoke to the on duty manager who was unaware that that was what they were doing. I also got an up charge for the ham. A cup of coffee is $3.00. I will never go there again.. rip off joint for the folks that don't know that they are getting ripped off. The server was good, but she should not have charged me for the inedible sausage or replacement meat.

If you are looking for a local place with superior service and food, this is the place. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, but it was well worth it. I got breakfast. Ham and eggs with American Fries. Very well portioned and cooked to perfection. The cinnamon rolls are out of this world good! You have to try one. I highly recommend Susie’s Cafe. I know you are going to enjoy eating here. I have to add that our server was excellent. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The other staff was very friendly.

We had a great breakfast. The service was wonderful. The food was fresh, fast, & they use high quality ingredients. The picture is of their small cinnamon roll. We shared it. We also bought 12 cupcakes to take back home to share with friends & family. That's why our bill was so high for 2 people. Just breakfast would have been around $40. We will be returning the next time we are in the area.

Our server, Amy, was excellent! She had a great upbeat attitude, was urgent & efficient, and friendly. She gave us a very good (1st time) experience. 👍 I give her a 5 star rating. Atmosphere was good. Food could have been higher quality. Our favorite item ordered was the biggie sized cinnamon roll with homemade frosting-- that's a must! Yummy! It's great as a breakfast appetizer or as a dessert to conclude your meal. We were very let down by the shank ham steak as the breakfast menu states for the #3 choice under "Combos & Classics" an enormously hand-carved shank ham steak when in actuality you do not get an "enormous" portion at all. It's mis-leading to the customer and how the customer can perceive how the menu states. I'd recommend to omit the word "enormous" for the #3 choice in that section of the menu. The pumpkin pancakes were not shouting pumpkin at all!! Sadly the flavor just wasn't there. My tastebuds are fine as I was not sick at all when I visited and ate here. The syrup is very bland too. It was just sugar mixed in with high fructose corn syrup. No taste of a real syrup and you can tell it is a very cheap generic syrup. The star dish was the homemade cinnamon roll. I wish that Suzi's Cafe offered espresso drinks, as they only offer drip coffee-- you'd definitely sell it in a place like Valparaiso. People will notice if you up your game on ingredients and espresso drink offerings!

We walked in and were immediately handed the largest cinnamon roll I've ever seen in my life. Have I died and gone to heaven?? The rest of the food was also fantastic. Will be back!

So delicious and quick! And warning - the cinnamon roll is huge! But totally worth it.

After I was given a slice of cake from someone else’s event, I was hooked and just had to have this cake for my baby shower! I placed my order for half while half chocolate with buttercream. Simple yet absolutely delicious! We ordered a half sheet for a small group knowing everyone else would love it too. I’m glad we did! Guests wanted to take some home and I needed to make sure I had some as well!
