The hotel is nice but don’t stay if you have a rental car, as it doesn’t have a secured car parking. People hang around in this area whole day watching tourists. Planned robbery, including deliberately causing a flat tire which then leads to stealing of valuables, is common in Valparaiso. The city looks safe but never let your guard down if you don’t want to be a victim of a planned crime, like us.

Monday 7pm. Service was decent but not amazing. After my food arrived, my waiter did not come by to check how the food was or if I needed anything such a something more to drink. Meal had potential but was average. I ordered the fillet medium rare, which should be a little bit bloody, but it was over cooked to medium. I ate it none the less because I was quite hungry at this point and as I was seated outside I was getting quite cold. It was a decent cut and had good flavor though. The accompaniment of potato's and garnishings were flavored with a creamy white sauce that was well balanced. Regarding the service, I did eat rather quickly since I did not wish to linger in the cold. I didn't waste any time getting up to get my check and paying directly at the cash register. They did provide blankets if you know to ask for them, but really they should invest in outdoor heat lamps. All in all it was an average experience for an above average price. Perhaps you will have slightly better luck with better weather, better service and a better cook.

A colleague of our daughter recommended this hotel, thanks Blake. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Some people might be disappointed that there are no TV’s or refrigerators in the rooms but we did not mind that omission at all. The safe and the towel warmer in the bathroom are very nice amenities. I recommend taking a taxi here from the Turo bus terminal because of the climb and distance from the city bus stop unless you are physically more fit than we are. The view from the rooftop restaurant and the quality of the food were outstanding. Some reviewers thought the servers were inattentive but I believe that is due to the cultural difference between Chile and the USA. The staff were very laid back and they don’t try to rush you out of the restaurant.

I read about this place before coming to Valparaiso. Then I saw on google maps that the rating was 4.3 which made me decide to go to different places. During a walk in Valparaiso we stumbled upon Fauna and decided to get a drink. We ended up getting food as well and we were absolutely blown away by the whole experience. The food was incredible and drinks as well. I rarely write reviews but here I’m just doing it because the place is really really nice not only for food but also the views and I think it should have a better rating than 4.3. Also, I saw some people were complaining about too long wait for the food which in our cases was not an issue at all. We came to Fauna 2 days in a row and both times got the food within 15 or 20 minutes after ordering.

Two stars for the amazing view and the appetizers, delightful!! Piscos were yummy as well. Sadly, the entrees we ordered (steak filet -overcooked- and tuna steak) were SO salty. We didn't finish our food due to the saltiness, it was almost unbearable (and I like salt).

I stayed in the fauna hotel for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is great, the room was nice but needed some updating. The restaurant had amazing views overlooking the city, but the food was average, and the service wasn't very good. The staff in the hotel and restaurant need some training in customer service. They didn't say hello or goodbye. They ignored us when we walked in and out of the hotel. Asking them for anything seemed to be an issue, like we were bothering them. Their attitude actually made me feel uncomfortable during my stay. As a person who has worked in the hospitality industry, I truly believe they need some training.

We had a dinner and drinks at the hotel Fauna. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails. However - their queuing system could be much improved. There was poor communication about how it worked and how long it would take. They seem to make you want to wait outside to give it an air of exclusivity, even when there are free tables. When we went on our second night we waited almost an hour and there were only two groups ahead of us. The maitre-d didn't come down to let us know it would be such a long wait so I would recommend anyone else visiting to specifically ask how long the wait will be to avoid that happening to them.

Came for lunch and it's a great spot to sit on their terrace and enjoy the view with some good food and drinks. We both got one of their ciabatta baguettes and they were very tasty.

Great boutique hotel with helpful people and great breakfast. But no parking within blocks. No TV, refer, wifi (only could connect outside of room) or elevator. In the center of tourism but at night is huge drinking party for local roughs.

(Rating restaurant) Was amazing coming back and trying the new menu, full of rich and traditional ingredients and chilean flavours. Heated deck, beautiful views, 5starts service, great cocktails and the food that was Is an absolutely must try!

Great location and views which you have a lot of time to admire because the service is mind-numbingly slow 🐢 We waited exactly one hour for our starter to arrive, and the restaurant was not even at capacity. The food is average. Not bad, not spectacular.

Came for a quick bite - the view is unbeatable and the food was great (I had the shrimp salad). Prices are on the higher side (relatively speaking), service was okay. Only negative that I had to ask for the bill 3 times. Oh and the menu that it’s only in Spanish (minor thing since we have Google translate!). Recommend!

Very nice place to go for drinks and something to eat. Staff is super friendly and relaxed. And I loved that they also invite musicians to play :).

The friendliest hotel staff I've experienced in Chile! So kind and helpful :-) And the hotel itself has so much character, a brilliant view from the terrace & comfortable/ stylish rooms. Highly, highly recommended!

Surpassed our expectations! Ceviche was maybe the best I have ever had! View was amazing and no rush to move on. Staff was super friendly.

🫤 Bad food with good presentation, nice view. The burger was overcooked and the ceviche lacked taste. The chocolate volcano was actually a brownie. Very overcooked. Not worth the price at all.

😐 Feels like a cozy English pub as far as its ambiance. The beer was okay… the west coast ipa wasn’t very hoppy. The hazy ipa also wasn’t very hoppy or hazy. The regular stout was pretty good. they were out of the imperial stout. The banana pancake lager didn’t taste like banana and was a simple lage...
