Cozy place with great food and interesting cocktails. The staff is really nice too. Be careful with the hot sauce, it is Mexican spicy, not European spicy (they also sell it in a bottle so you can take some flaming hot goodness with you). The washroom is also quite funny, you need to carry a huge sign with you to open the door, we loved it. The street might not look inviting, but I can assure you this place is well worth a visit!

Such a little hidden gem of a place! Food was delicious, staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was great. Lovely little dig down an alley, which gave it a quirky feel. All of our party enjoyed their food, and I liked the relaxed dining environment. If you're looking for somewhere affordable yet delicious for Mexican cuisine, this is your place! I'm also a vegetarian and they had tasty veggie options!

This tiny tacos bar was a little bit hard to find, located in a narrow sketchy alley. We tried many of their tacos and the brisket was our favourite. It was super juicy, flavorful, and wrapped with corn-style tortilla. The Mexican rice was okayish and the guacamole was good. Super friendly staff that make you comfortable, but gets supra busy (the tiny shop was full when we visited). The burritos and drinks were also delicious!

Its definitely a place for cheap eats in Gastown...however there are other places that taste better unfortunately. I understand why its super busy...definitely caters towards a younger rowdy type of crowd..it was so loud in there server got our order wrong and since there's only 2 people working their always on the go...he came back to pick up our playes then spilled taco juice on my boyfriend...lol i think that was where we were both so done

Good time and good vibes. Our server Jess was lovely, and gave us the perfect recommendations for food and a drink. Definitely would come back again for some late night tacos and drinks. I preferred the pork tacos over the austin(beef). Also would of never known it was located in middle of a alley.

If you go nowhere else to eat, stop here. Tacos are great and the price is really good. The bowl my husband got was fantastic too. The service and atmosphere were both great. The hot sauce that is the most spicy is perfect. Will come back!!!

So I am not from here and I decided to try this spot and honestly it was kind of mediocre. Like it wasn’t good. However I did like the atmosphere within the space just it was too small for me that I personally felt confined. Which I did not like. Our server was not attentive or really there. Overall I didn’t hate the experience just wished it was better.

We wandered into the alley and we were so close to turning back but thankfully we went and stood in the queue. It was well worth it. Best tacos we've ever had and what a great place to hang out. Very friendly chaps running the place and some great chill music.

Awesome place to hang out at night! Second time visit and will for sure pay more visits for nicest servant Juan(hopefully I spell it correctly) for remembering our names and providing consistent, friendly and welcoming service!!!! Getting the nachos with a beer is a must. Grabbing more tacos (recommending the Austin taco) if there’s still space in your stomach for food! Be sure to come at less popular hours (Thur & Sunday night as we did) or be patient with the queue for seats!

I love everything about this place, from the great tacos to the sketchy blood alley hidden location that makes it feel very local, to the amusing decor. And the staff are great, super friendly. If I ever opened a taco shop, it would basically be this place. Only complaint is no more fish tacos, but cheap beer makes up for it. 😁 If you've been to the well known chain taco places, and not here, you owe it to yourself to drop in and get some brisket tacos asap.

What a vibe!!! From the music to the decor, everything felt so intentional and well curated. My friend had a spiked michelada, I had a bourborita - both were fantastic. So well balanced and delicious. Cole was friendly and enthusiastic and our tacos were fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Van.

Great food, quirky and fun vibe! Attentive and friendly staff. I have been a few times and always look forward to going back. They also have a margarita bucket and cocktails come with little candies. Literally nothing to not love about this place!

Don’t let the run down alley keep you away from this place. Atmosphere was excellent with lots of lights and colour. Set up is bar stools and benches. Service was excellent. Our guy was super down to earth, kind and friendly. Music was a great addition - 80s/90s jams like Janet Jackson. Loved it. Food was good. My friend had tacos and I had the dilla which is essentially a really thick quesadilla packed with meat and cheese. That was really good. The side of rice was okay. Great drink menu. My lemonade came with some sour candy around the straw. Cool place. I highly recommend it!

Neat hole-in-the-wall Tex-Mexican food that everyone seems to know about. Not a lot of seating. Staff are super friendly.

Yes, it is in an alley BUT that actual food experience still brings it in at a 5. We often come here for take out! Burritos here are the way to go in my opinion (as seen in photo). Not a huge interior so with large party's it would be a tight squeeze. I recommend 🌯

Pretty cool place! We had this place marked as to go for a while and decided to give it a shot today. I was a bit discouraged when I walked in the alley to get there but we went in anyway and I’m happy we did! The place has special ambiance, you feel like you’re eating by the beach 🏝️. The food was pretty good too. We’ll be back! Id suggest entering the alley from Carrall, not Abbott.

Amazing vibes. Two owners who run the place are very cheerful and keep passing the vibes. Food is a bonus to the ambiance.

Great staff, friendly manager and delicious tacos! You have to venture into blood alley to get there but it is soooo worth it! We tried the steak and pork tacos and both were sensational

Tiny little taco shop in a somewhat sketchy alley. Once you get there, you will be pleasantly surprised. They have 4.75 sleeves of lager or pale ale. Cool adult drinks in a colourful sand bucket. Tacos were very flavourful, not the best I've ever had, but very tasty just the same. Service was excellent. Bit of a wait as it gets quite busy..to be expected. Will definitely be back

Great hole in the wall mexican restaurant. Don't let the Gastown location (blood lane) turn you away. Very small place, it worth the 15-35 min wait time if busy. 16 oz draft beer 🍺 for $4.50!

Only reason this place gets 3 stars is because the last time I was there, I had a server I had never had before, and we waited 15-20 minutes average for her to come around to order more food or drinks. The service was so slow and frustrating to the point we didn’t even order our mains because we had been there for 30 minutes and had only managed to order nachos and 1 round of beers. It seemed she was too busy socializing on the busier side of the restaurant. I otherwise love this place! Have been going since I discovered it last year. I typically have a great experience each time with other staff, this last time was unfortunately horrible.

An incredible dining experience at the Mexican restaurant! The flavors were authentic, the ambiance was lively, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone craving a taste of Mexico!
