We popped by to ask about renting boards, the guy had no idea about the forecast or beach conditions to tell us when it would be better. I asked him if an instructor could send us a video after a class to decide if we go or not, initially he said they could do that but at the end never did and just left me on read on WhatsApp. It feels they simply want to make business with tourists who've never surfed before and are happy catching white waters, if you've surfed before and understand a bit what's going on this is the wrong place.

The property is near to beach and you get a nice hospitality , beds , room and washroom is too clean. In my vacation i forgot my watch at the property but they called me and returned it to. So happy that i stayed in this genuine property.

I would 100% recommend Surf and Sea for both their amazing and professional surfing sessions and staying at their property. Rooms are clean. Very close to the north cliff and the beach. Plus points you'd find both place to party and places to chill in peace near the property. They also have standup paddle boarding. The staffs are extremely helpful and hospitable, we had a great stay.

It's really good to learn surfing first time with good professional's. What we liked in surfnsea was they added some value on their session, like taking our photographs and giving swim suits. You don't make any hustle to take your mobile & click. Their team was really awesome.. give a try. Really worth it.

Had a fun morning surf session with them, but only because surfing itself is fun on its own - and despite the instructors here really. The "instructors" here are excellent surfers themselves, but not very good as instructors. They also came off as somewhat rude and judgemental on top of doing nothing to help you have a good first surf experience.

Highly recommended ! Enrolled for a 3-day surf lesson. Very friendly and professional trainers, was able to “pop-up” the first day itself with zero surf experience. They take a lot of pride and joy in your accomplishments, will certainly visit again immediately.

The surf n sea is great place to begin your learning journey. The instructors are really nice and are on top of it to teach you how to surf. I had a good time learning with them.

I had the best time with surf n sea. Charlie was my instructor and he was superb. He knew what he was talking about, genuinely gets excited when his students stand, and cared about our safety. It's incredible to be around people who love surfing and love to teach.

I usually do not write a reviews but this time I had too because seriously I’m just speechless. The guy at the reception was weird from the minute we arrived. After that he got even more creepy. He was unpleasant and was sending that I do not care, I do not want to be here, go away vibes. We all felt not welcome. He asked us to take off the flip flops (that wasn’t a problem) but still wearing his trainer’s. When asked about it he said that he do not wear this shoes outside. Weird. Also, according to hostel website or the info on the wall at the reception, hostel should provide info regarding transport and help in organising it. This didn’t happen and we were told that the sign outside and in the office were old. But the worst was the way he traded homeless dog that follow us back to the hostel. We gave some food to the dog, he saw us and passed next to us and the dog. He looked at the dog with the disgust on his face. The minute we went to our room he booted dog out from the area outside the hostel. There’s no chilling area in the hostel so you rather sitting on the floor in the room or next to small table in the hallway. Bathroom was smelly, no toilet paper and no hot water. Main door to the hostel were wide open all night and there was no lock on the door to our room. Anybody could enter when we were sleeping. We haven’t feel welcome or safe there. Stayed one night and checked out first thing in the morning. Not very chilling, yogi, surf like vibes.

Alex and Saro were very patient and helpful during the training session. By the end of the session I could catch the waves. Best surfing scholar around the town.

I had a great time here. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The double rooms are spacious and clean. Also, they have a wonderful view from the rooftop. In addition, it's conveniently located close to the beach and the main cliff. :)

It was my first surfing class and turned out to be a surprisingly good experience. Shallow and clean beaches with perfect waves and great instructors helping you thoroughly!

We went surfing with the team and as first timers found the instructors to be arrogant, got different instructions from different teachers thus confusing us and didn't lead us to having a good time. We actually felt like fishes as there were too many of us in the water and were hitting each other. The teacher to student ratio was not good with 11 /12 lessons being held They claimed that swimming is not required but if you check most surf schools recommend swimming as a prerequisite which led to non swimmers having a bad experience Would not recommend to try your first time surfing with them

Had a wonderful experience with Surf n Sea. Undoubtedly one of the best surfing school in India. Instructors are well trained and very professional. Managed to stand on the board a few times. The surf lessons with Surf n Sea were a great experience. The instructors are very professionnal, teach with a lot of patience and explain the techniques very well when it's your first experience. The most expensive surf board rental in Varkala. We came to ask for the price and finally rented boards in another place - man with long hair met us at spot and became mad :(

Amazing Homestay ! Location - Surf n Sea is an Amazing & a peaceful place to stay. Located close to the black beach, this property provides all that an adventurous traveler would look for like surfing classes, cycling, bike hires, boat rides, kayaking, etc. Anandhu & Vichu (the 2 amazing brothers) were very friendly & made us feel at home. They were always available for any help & guidance required during our stay. Rooms - Good rooms for budget travelers, do keep in mind you will need to carry the basics as this is not a hotel stay. Nevertheless we felt at home & there was no interference by any. Surfing - Took surf lessons which was fun & exciting. Anandhu does his best to cater to your needs & clicks some amazing photos of you while surfing. If you are looking for a friendly, budgeted homestay in Varkala, close to the beaches & restaurants, this is the place to visit.

Surf N Sea is one of the good surfing schools in varkala. Went for the morning surf session conducted by Satheesh, Alex n Charlie it was really good n fun with them around. All the tutors ensured we had a fun session. I would definitely recommend them. Although pI haven't stayed there but it seems like the vibe of the place is really chill.

It was an awesome experience learning at this school. I wasn't sure about it earlier due to my back problems, but they made me feel comfortable about it and it turned out to be great. Amal(the owner) was very helpful, Satish & Alex(the trainers) were really amazing. I had a wonderful time.

We did our surf session from here.. we didn't know to swim.. but the instructors were very sweet and friendly and helped us to come out of our fear and enjoy !!! Very professional. All of the coaches are well trained and doing surfing for like 8-11 years. Proper lessons, guidance all through the course, very affordable. It was a wonderful experience.

I had a great experience learning surfing for the first time. The trainers were patient and helped correct the mistakes and instill confidence to stand up on the board. This experience has kickstarted a new hobby in me. Thanks to all the staff.

I stumbled upon it during my stay in Varkala. I signed up for a session which lasted about one and half hour. The trainers were good and knew what they were doing. I managed to stand up on the surf board a few times so I would conclude my session went pretty well. They also take pictures of you while surfing so that you can brag about it later. 😆 Definitely recommended!

One of the best surfing school... The instructors are really nice and they teach you completely.. they even help n motivate you to surf... The service js really nice.. and mostly very affordable... The best highlight of my varkala trip has been the surfing sessions with Surf N Sea ,took 5 classes with them and had a blast. Would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to varkala ! The team is very punctual ,Amal made sure that I woke up and picked me everyday at the exact time. Saro, Alex and Raju have been the best instructors. Bonus: You get to enjoy the jeep ride by Anandhu and they take some amazing pictures and videos of the sessions!! Anyone who doesn't know swimming can also join the beginner session they do make sure about the safety of everyone!! Will I be coming back for more session?? Without a doubt!

This is a very interesting and very helpful surfing school in Varkala it's near black beach and with very nice view, also atmosphere here is really good.... Big thanks to Anandhu and other surfing trainers to make my Varkala trip memorable!!!! 🤘🏄‍♂️
