He can help you with literally anything, from helping to find best juice place around to getting a tattoo done at his resort. Because of Roshan this place is so unique! It has wide variety of rooms suitable for anyone needs — room prices varies from 800 rupees for small NonAC room with toilet outside during off-season, 1500 for AC room with toilet, up to 2500 for more spacious AC rooms with balcony — we did our research in Varkala and my humble opinion is that Happy Bhudda offers the best quality for this price We feel super lucky to find this place and get to know Roshan 🫶🏼

Happy Buddha is a very nice place. As the name suggests, very calm and peaceful place to stay. It is easy to locate. Food is amazing, prepared in-house by Sharmila (chechi). It’s Kerala-style food. Nice environment with positive vibes. Feels at home.

Best place to stay in Varkala. Though its not at the sea shore or any beach view, still this places gives you complete experience of everything. You pay only for the room but you get not only room. You get balcony, hanging chair, TV with WiFi, free wifi for your devices, all music instruments, mini soccer, carrom, chess, DJ and what not. And all these are in the main hall near your respective rooms. Anyway Varkala cliff and beach is just 2 min drive or a 10 min walk. Roshan allowed us to check in too early and he allowed us to stay for one complete evening on the last day of our vacation completely without charging any money. The breakfast we had there was also good. Much much recommended ❤️

Had a pleasant stay here. Roshan was so pleasing and helped us with almost everything. We enjoyed our time here. The rooms are cozy and tidy. The property is very well maintained and very quiet. There are indoor entertainments available at the lounge. Would recommend anyone who wants a nice stay in Varkala.

An amazing place to stay if you are planning a trip to varkala. Just 1 km away from the beach. Spacious rooms but no hot water facility. We ate delicious authentic local food by chechi at a very reasonable price! Many games like cards, carrom and Jenga are available to play in the common area. Overall it was a great stay

I came for a couple of days and eventually stayed for a month 🙃 Best rooms, best traditional homemade food by Chechi (breakfast, lunch, dinner available) and the best host - Roshan. He can help you arrange any activity you want in Varkala and around and he's just a lovely person to hang out with. I also enjoyed playing guitar, jembe, kalimba very much!

We ended up here randomly because the Owner of La maison ditched us last minute even though we had done booking in advance. Anyway, at the end... It all seemed like " Whatever happens, happens for good " Type situation, because Happy buddha was so awesome and we absolutely loved it. The host - Roshan is kind, helpful and approachable. The room size is big - surely bigger than most of the rooms in same price range. The wifi and AC was strong as well. Ample two wheeler parking space was available. The rooms were very well made, with good number of sockets and tables and big cupboard size. They also had a table with wheeler and keyboard drawer , making it a hit for all those who want to work , while on there trip - work from home concept Some rooms have personal balcony and others have common balcony. The hall had very comfortable sofa cum bed and Feel good vibe. Their washroom size is also big and clean. It's a new property started not more than 6 months back. Also, the host makes you absolutely feel safe.( being a girl who travels a lot , I do make a note of that as well) I am surely going to come back here whenever I opt to stay at varkala. I stayed here for 3 nights this time. If you come across this place, just choose it and u won't be disappointed. The North cliff is 400 ms away by walk, approx 5-7 mins. ( beach) 2-3 small eateries ( budget) are also nearby within 100-200 ms range. The common areas like kitchen and hall is also spacious, clean and gives a good vibe. There is a common fridge as well that you can use and has water filter for you to always get drinking water.

I literally have no words for how amazing the place is. Location is pretty close to everything. Nearest hospital is 2 kilometers. Nearest beach is 700 meters. It’s in the center so everything’s pretty close by in about 5 kilometers radius. Moving on to the property, Roshan (owner) is the perfect guy. He can arrange everything. From the Auto rickshaw to rentals as well has discounts on fancy restaurants he’s got you covered. The food here is amazing. Chichi and her helper didi makes amazing food. Rooms are pretty spacious and has all the essentials. As a foreigner I can definitely say that this homestay is better than most of the 3 star hotels I’ve been on. You get to explore Kerala in the perfect way. The bathrooms are clean well maintained. The rooms are clean and the balcony is the perfect place to stay for midnight gossips and hanging out with friends. I came on a leisure trip and this place is definitely worth the price. Honestly speaking we can also say we got service worth more. The surrounding is peaceful, quiet and perfect for work vacations. Definitely recommend this place and definitely coming back here again.

The best hotel in Varkala and the best host. Roshan is very friendly and hospitable. This is a new hotel with modern design. The room is clean and spacious. It is very good location. There is everything you need: hot water, drinking water, excellent Wi-Fi on any floor. We really enjoyed staying there. We highly recommend! When we return to Varkala, then only in Happy Buddha!

Gladly want to share my experience about stay in Happy Buddah Homestay 😀 First of all want to mention that it is a very cosy, nice place with family ambience, walking distance like 15 minutes to the sea. The property is clean and neat, with outside garden. It is a 3-storey building with 5 rooms in total for rent constructed according to Vaastu design system, so it feels very comfortable there. Host of the guest house Roshan is very nice young man, very attentive and helpful in details. I would definitely recommend this Homestay for a long stay for those who search for privacy, safety and family atmosphere for reasonable money. There is also a Happy Buddah Resort - second property which without any doubt can be considered as a good 4* Hotel. It is a new one, fresh and very exquisitely designed with personal touch. Rooms are big enough, some with AC, some without. On the rooftop there is a room to stay and enjoy night sky and the stars. The Resort will have soon more to offer like home cafe and projector cinema. The place is lovely!!!!

This place is really fantastic. Super clear and luxurious, the rooms are huge, beds are comfy, the bathrooms are super clean and the showers have great pressure. The staff are also amazing (and speak excellent English) and so helpful, they will go out of their way to ensure your stay is great. Over the busy season they have a lot of exciting plans, and I’m sure this place will only keep getting better as time goes on! I hope to be back some time soon!

Good rooms and service. It's more like a home as the host is considerate to the guest's requests and treats them well. I witnessed one instance where two guests were persistently asking for something during check-in and the host was responding politely but firmly.

The resort is very calm and quite. Comfortable for staycations.The staffs are very polite and friendly nature and will arrange everything we needed . The will also helps to arrange rickshaws as wells as two wheelers for rent . This property is very close to black sand beach as well as to the cliff . We will recommend everything to visit this property 👌.

Mr. Roshan is such a kind person. We reached on resort late at 10pm . He arranged food for us. Location is also near to beach it's walkable. Rooms are clean neat and we'll maintained. Staff Service also good

It's a great place fr family. The rooms and bathrooms are both clean and spacious. The whole place has a cute, clean and silent ambience. It's located very near to the cliff and black sand beach. Mr. Roshan is a very helpful host and gav us a lot of inputs on the local sightseeing which wer very useful.

This place is Amazing and super Active. Lots of things to do like Frisbee, Surfing, Jamming sessions. Rooms are very Clean and Spacious. Common space filled with lot of games and music. super fun to stay.. Highly recommended

The rooms and halls are very spacious and the property has space for car parking. It’s very near to the Varkala Cliff and and all other amenities. The vibe and the energy of this home stay is very commendable and I would love to crash at Happy Buddha when I visit Varkala again.

In close proximity to Varkala Cliff and Black beach for those lovely sunsets and a dining experience that leaves you mesmerised with both the quality of food and the view you get from your table. A great place to stay! Had a wonderful time here. The host Mr. Roshan Matthew is very courteous and makes you feel at home. Recommend checking with him for great suggestions to explore Varkala. This property is on the main road, offers ample parking space and is only 300 meters from the cliff ( about ten minutes walk). The whole place is extremely well maintained. The rooms are spacious!! Highly recommend staying here ( you'll probably end up extending your stay, it's that amazing!!)

Had a explicit experience! Truly felt home with all the comforting hospitality accompanied with all sorts of indoor games to keep the vibe constant! The property being very tidy and food's rich authenticity made it much better! I arrived a very stressed Buddha and after two weeks i left a very happy and peaceful Buddha. This place really lives up to the name. It is so relaxing full of harmonic and friendly energy. It is situated in a palm tree forest and you hear bird and frogs day and night. Roshan and the two ladies are always smiling, always delightful, helpful and friendly, but also very respectful to your personal space, the perfect combination. Roshan was extremely helpful and even organized my next transfer. He is so polite and a pleasure to talk to. There was always fresh water, breakfast and homemade nice local food available. Although Happy Buddha is in a peaceful, quiet place, it is just 500m away from the busy North Cliff f and beach with loads of nice restaurants, bars and shops. All in all the perfect place to stay for a good price too. I hope to be back soon. Thank you so much.

A quiet and peaceful place to stay in. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The lunch prepared by chechi was absolutely delightful. The common area has musical instruments, various games, and painting supplies to enjoy with friends. So if you don't mind walking 10 mins to the cliff then this is a great place to stay. Will definitely come again.

It was such a great pleasure staying at Roshan’s place!! Great guy connected us to his friends right away and it felt like home right from the beginning. Just a short walk to the black beach and the cliff! Large and clean rooms, couldn’t be any better :)
