As of 8 Feb 2022, cost of the museum is €17 (approximately $19.50 per adult). Just buy tickets at the desk inside, it's much easier and avoid the €4 online fee to buy in advance. Make sure to bring your covid vaccination card! Yes, they check at the door. We opted out of the audio and guided tours, but if that's your personal preference, it's about €6 or €8 to rent the audio equipment. We just preferred self-guided tour at our own pace. Make sure to use the restroom before you start. There are restrooms throughout the museum, but some are spaced out prefer far and you'll wish you took the chance to go when you can. There's food court and cafeteria at the end, and it's a lot of walking so you'll be hungry. There are also vending machines with drinks and snacks throughout, so you'll appreciate that as well. This is one of the biggest museums I've ever seen in my life. If you take the time to appreciate each piece of historical relic and art, it can take you all day to see everything. There's plenty of cheap souvenirs from tent stand vendors outside, but we picked up a few small things from the museum gift shop. The prices are higher, but not too bad.

Way to crowded in august. We bought the lunch ticket which is a 19.5€ „full italian lunch“ and it was a complete joke. You get your meal in one way beverage in a big crowded food court without any windows. If you want to go there get your tickets online and be there early or pretty late.

One of the great Museums of the entire World. Obviously, purchase your ticket ahead of time, online. There are so many pieces, paintings and artifacts that its important to have a plan on the things that you do want to see, hence do some research ahead of time and see where the pieces you like are located. The visit will take you at least 3 hours so wear comfortable shoes.

Oh my goodness this is a must see when in Rome! I would highly recommend doing the guided tour, because you hear and learn so much more and they give the history and stories behind so much that you are about to see. Our tour guide was amazing and answered all of our questions. She was amazing. The artwork that is here is just spectacular and the art that is on the ceilings, and walls as well as the sculptures, stained glass, paintings, other historical objects is just amazing. To hear the history and how each pope made their contributions to the place and museum. The gardens, the buildings, the rooms full of precious art and sculptures, the Sistine Chapel, and so much more is so awe inspiring. This is truly a must see for everyone. I would advise you that in the summer, it can be quite hot and many of the rooms are not air conditioned so do it early in the hotter months, but it is still worth seeing this awe inspiring place. Take your time and see all that there is here to see, there is a lot and it is amazing. Truly worth your time and effort to see this. We highly recommend it and would do it again when in the area.

This museum is so beautiful and huge that you need a lot of time in order to walk its hallways. It takes about 8 kilometers to walk the whole museum, no joke. Also, in order to avoid long lines to get in the museum it is better to get your tickets online.

We really enjoyed this place. The history is fantastic. We booked a tour in advance. It was $40 pp through the official site. I definitely recommend that. There were so many works of art and great history to see. I would definitely recommend this place.

Definitely a must see museum. You can come across thousands of years old ruins, statues and even mummy. There are so many historical artifacts worth seeing.I devoted almost half of my day to this museum. The Sistine chapel is also one of the places worth seeing. There are fascinating and surprising works that cannot be explained one by one.I was very impressed. I strongly recommend.

If you don't have a reservation, they will just make you wait A LOT (I think we waited almost two hours) as other people pass by, that was really frustrating. I'm not sure why that happened because there were no queues at the ticket offices. So make sure you book online. Other than that, the museum is huge and so informative! You could easily spend hours here

Extremely awesome. It is just the heat that was the culprit otherwise totally worth it. Only if they can create more washroom there won't be long lines for the wait, especially for the ladies. The various galleries were awesome showing the epitome of excellence in art and finally when you arrive at the Sistine Chapel, that's a sight to behold and absorb it as much as you can with your eyes, because you know that you're gonna cherish this memory for always.

A must do in Rome. This was better than the Louvre in Paris and is beyond anything I have ever seen in my life. It is captivating and breathtaking, beautiful and gorgeous and a must do bucket list activity in anyone’s life. You must visit it while in Rome, I urge you to, it is worth the money for the ticket. I would strongly recommend buying your ticket in advance and buying an audio guide. The queues to get in are so very long and can take the entire day. Visit it while you can!

A one-of-a-kind, once-or-twice-in-a-lifetime kind of of experience. The Vatican museums are massive—bordering on near-endless—and they are gorgeous, on the verge of being indescribable. My tour guide said it would take 12 years to view all of the art they have in these buildings. I believe her—4 hours didn’t feel like enough time. You will be bombarded by miraculous artistic works from every direction for hours. It is honestly a bit overwhelming. If you have the ability, you might want to take two separate visits. You will also want some nice walking shoes! I also recommend drinking an entire bottle of water prior to entering. My favorite parts of the museums were the gallery of maps, the Sistine Chapel, and the Raphael Rooms. Absolutely astonishing works by masters who dedicated years and years to their works.

Its a must to visit if you are in Rome. Get your skip the line ticket and head to the museum immediately. You will spend 3 to 5 hours at least and u wont feel the time passing. It will always be busy but you can enjoy it anyway. Its just so big so you better understand where are you going and ready a bit earlier to your visit

We booked a private tour so there were 6 in our group. Maria Luigia was so sweet & took us through our 2 hour tour quickly but not so much that I felt we missed a lot. If you truly want to see everything then you'd need to make almost a full day of it as there really is so much to see that we didn't get through it all in the 2 hours! Plus, we started our tour just after 6pm so we ended up being some of the last people kicked out at closing time 😄 women must be covered on their shoulders & to their knees to enter the Basilica or the Chapel but 2 girls in the group had backless dresses & we're told they'd need to cover up during the rest of the tour as well. I was surprised at how modern portions of the Vatican were! In the gardens we're coffee shops & modern art. But of course, most was decorated in ancient & historical artifacts. I was also surprised at how much "pagan" influence there was in several parts & in the artistry. Chalk it up to the Roman & Egyptian rule & gifts from other cultures & it explains why there were so many pyramids, Sphinx & nods to Greek gods. The sheer volume of "stuff" is mind boggling! The hall of statues is so long that you can't clearly see the other side of the room. The ceiling paintings & details in all of the alcoves is striking. So basically, take the time, get a tour group & be prepared for whatever the weather throws at you because most of the areas that allow tourists don't have heating/cooling.

It's definitely worth it. You can spend a 3-4hrs there easy. There is so much stuff, by the end of it, you walk past a 2000 year old statue, and you're like "mid"

The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel are both overwhelmingly beautiful! You can spend a whole day just in those two buildings! Be careful because you are not allowed to take pictures in the Sistine Chapel, but you can take lots of pictures in the museum. You will walk a lot, up and down stairs and ramps. There are bathrooms and restaurants within the museum. There is a security checkpoint, but we were able to still take a small backpack with small bottled water inside after examined.

This museum is unbelievable. I highly recommend doing a skip the line deal and going right when it opens. We did a tour which was very educational and made the experience a lot more rich. Every room is absolutely immaculate. I was in awe. You are not allowed to take pictures within the Sistine Chapel though, but honestly it would be impossible to get a good picture anyway, plus not worrying about pictures helps you take it all in.

The most comprehensive museum I have ever seen, including some of the finest art and historical pieces! You will likely need entire day to fully enjoy it. I suggest getting tickets beforehand. Also know that it will be extremely crowded. We visited end of May, and it was hard to spend time on pieces due to intense tour guide activity.

A great museum but there are some things to considerate. 1. Book your visit with time, if you don’t have you will spend around 3-4 hours on the line. It’s heavy make it. 2. Inside the museum, all the members are moving you to continue. Very hard to enjoy and get involve into the museum or even take photos. 3. I think 1 fully day dedicated to the museum could be sufficient or preferred to go and visit St. Pietro Basilica. 4. Entrance is 17€ per person without booking. It will be a lot of people asking if you want to buy a guide tour but prices will be very high. 5. For man dress code, it mentioned that shorts should be covering your knees, but it’s not true. A lot of man got in without following that rule. Honestly, today’s short are upper knees and are the normal ones. So, relief yourself and go with it.

You need to be very careful with the tickets. You can buy even if you haven't from there. Do not believe anyone who tells you that you can't. The cost is nearly 18€ If you take it without a guide from the tours companies it is 40€ and with a guide 70€. Only you need to have time and patience 😉

A Must Visit when you are in Rome! I can’t still get over how beautiful it was. It was extremely hot (100 degrees when I got there) and I’m so glad we bought “skip the line” tour with guide. We went right in to the side entrance. Even inside the museum was hot, so I highly recommend to purchase tickets in advance. We can’t take a picture in Sistine chapel where Michelangelo’s master piece is. You can sit down at the chapel and really enjoyed the artwork. It’s overwhelmingly beautiful. There are many famous sculptures and artwork you can recognize throughout the museum. We spent about 3 hours there. Due to extreme hot weather and lots of tourists, it’s best to get a skip the line ticket ahead of time.

This whole place is incredible. The amount of art work all over the place is breathtaking. I’m not into art at all but this place is seriously impressive. I highly recommend buying tickets in advance as the queue for tickets was insanely long and in the 39 degree heat. The whole place takes hours to get around so is well worth the ticket money.

Das Restaurant des vatikanischen Museums ist allerdings teuer im Vergleich zur Quantität und Qualität, man sollte also nicht hungrig reingehen. Ebensowenig kann man die Tür zur Basilika des Petersdoms nutzen, da sie nur noch für geführte Touren durchgängig ist. Das Museum an sich ist absolut sehenswert!

Vatican Museums is one of the museums I want to see in the world. So I was so excited when I was there even a very long walk after we got off the bus. The museum is enormous. There are a lot of beautiful murals and ceiling paintings. My eyes were too busy in there. Plus all the statues, paintings, and lots of priceless treasures in there. We don’t have enough time to see everything I want to see!

It’s nice. There are so much to see. I highly recommend reading about the museum ahead of time and learn about the “must see” artifacts. You can easily spend a whole day there. There are cafes by the garden.

A wonderful place with so many fantastic exhibitions to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting on a non-holiday weekday which you can simply walk in to purchase a ticket without the need for advance booking or enduring long waits.

The art on display is awesome-inspiring. However be warned that it gets busy and hot, and there’s no scope for only sampling some of the rooms. You have to follow a course all the way round. It can be exhausting, and a bit of a brain overload. Book tickets online in advance. With these we had no wait at all to get in, even on a Saturday at the end of July.

Huge plethora of art, and a perfect day-trip lengthy tour. Would I recommend? Sure. Just be prepared for your ankles to melt at the end.

This was an amazing tour. There is overwhelming art and history that fills every each of the museum, whether it's the walls or the ceilings, you will be blown away. Truly beautiful experience. The tour took about 4 hours. It would have taken long, but we sort of tried to rush through as it was our last day in Rome. After paying, you are given a map that helps you navigate through. Make sure to hold onto the map, it definitely comes in handy. When in Rome, this should definitely be a place to visit. Get there early, wear comfortable shoes and get ready to soak in al the Museum has to offer. Be sure to carry a good camera. They allow photography in all rooms except the Sistine Chapel as it is considered holy.

The most incredible tour I have ever taken. The tour is true sensory overload as no matter where you look, the floors, walls or ceiling you are flooded with beautiful works of art. Tour package includes a visit to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Buy tickets in advance as this is a must in Rome.

We came at 12pm on Tuesday. Due to covid the queue was tiny and it only took 5 minutes to get in. Its the perfect time to visit the Vatican Museums. We bought are ticket online and reserved our time for 12pm. You go through security then go to the first floor to exchange your voucher into a ticket. A bit of advice before you go to the queue to enter the museum: just ignore everybody asking you questions outside, they are trying to scam you. They pretend to be friendly but they are not. Just book your ticket online then go straight to the queue. The museum is full of beautiful art which is beyond comprehension. It is too much to see in one day, you will get overloaded. Each room has an incredible amount of detail. We were fortunate especially that it was jammed full of people, I can imagine that would ruin the experience. You have to visit this if you are in Rome. The price of the ticket is nothing for the art you get to see. There is also a variety or sculptures/art from other countries. You can see in one of my pictures, some sculptures that look like they came from Buddhist temples in Indonesia (I'm not sure where they actually came from).

This museum is a must see, but not without the Rick Steves audioguide. If you've visited the British Museum or the Smithsonian or the Louvre, you know it's impossible to see it all without a plan, now imagine those crowds tripled, and you've got the Vatican Museums. All the visitors follow one long winding walk through the museum, so there is no way to escape into a quiet sideroom. I'd recommend going to St. Peter's first thing, then getting to the museums right when they open. The audioguide gives you a great way to make sense of an enormous amount of art and history, and helps you really understand how art developed over time. Without it, you'll be lost and overwhelmed. Although this is an absolute must see, you also need to prep yourself for a disappointing visit to the Sistine Chapel. Visitors are packed in like sardines and the security is constantly yelling at people - not so magical. Instead, take your time appreciating the rest of the art, and recognize that the grand finale, is not so grand

Year 2013 - Awesome Museum Year 2013.I remember that day. Painting works so amazing. Excellent Roman Masterpieces. Awesome paintings, statues, then it looked so lively and so intricate details of the statues. Worth the visit. My words wont be enough to describe its beauty ....History worth studying.To understand and enjoy the beauty of Architecture you need to walk a lot under the sun to admire the stunning work.

What a spectacular experience and place, take a tour guide for easy moving thru the museum. Its HUGE!! And i would advise a guide, if not you could get lost easy roaming along these long halls of precious arts, and run out of time before you can see the master's piece !!!

The Vatican museums is Definitely a must visit but just know there’s a lot of walking and a ton of people everywhere. There are many parts to the museum some more interesting than others. On a hot day it could be too much and in the summer time it will be hot, very hot. There is a lot to take in a ton of stuff before you get to the main attraction the Sistine chapel ceiling. Which is of course jammed packed with people from all over just like you waiting to take in the wonder. I went in the middle of July so of course that’s to be expected but that many people and the heat kinda takes away from the beautiful that is the sistine chapel ceiling … kinda. I still recommend you visit buy your tickets in advance and enjoy. I’ve seen it once, took a bunch of photos. You’re not allowed to take any in the Sistine Chapel. There’s security guards everywhere trained to spot the rule breaks. You also have to have your knees and shoulders covered but no one seemed to really enforce that rule. I’m in no rush to go back to the Vatican Museums but it’s definitely something you should do.

You have to buy the tickets with a lot of time because if not you have to buy them for more money. Amazing place with a lot of art you can spend a whole morning here looking at all it contains. I recommend to take it easy and make a lot of pics.

I would review it better because the museum itself was gorgeous, but the massive and dozens of tourist groups that push and shove and stand right in the middle of already crowded hallways really ruined a lot of the experience. They’re definitely allowing too many people in small spaces at one time. Also, there are no places to sit for hours so by the time you’re done you can hardly walk.

I recommend going with a tour guide 100%. You learn so much more! The architecture & art is breathtaking. It so incredible to see how these people built & made all of this from scratch. Every room you’re taken to will leave you in awe. All the rooms are head to toe dripped in hand painted art which is so insane. I recommend going early in the morning, even then there was a huge crowd in every room we went into. It also has a decent cafe inside at the very end. There are a few gift shops before you hit the one on the end, I say they’re all similar maybe a few different gifts at each. The tickets also includes your entrance to the basilica. If you are a into catholic art, I would highly recommend going here.

Magnificent and so much history and beauty to take in. The skip-line-tickets are worth it! Go early before it gets too crowded. Audio guides for €8 are a wealth of information and makes sense of what you’re seeing and you can wander at your own pace.

One of those "Pinch me" moments where it's nearly unbelievable to see what you're seeing. If you don't like crowds, this is NOT for you. Even with a tour group, we were basically moving along with the sea of people. Additionally, since there are so many people and groups visiting every day, museum staff and security are there to make sure there is no stopping, standing, or carefully curated photo ops. Just be ready for an "on the fly" motion shot, and you'll be good!

Definitely a must see if your in Rome, if you take your time and really take it all in you could make a day of it. I wouldn't say it's very wheelchair or buggy friendly. We had a buggy with us so it's doable but there is lots of stairs to carry it up and back down again. There's a restaurant on the green outside which does sandwiches, paninis, pasta dishes etc.

The museum was terrific. The entrance was so random. Have to wait and queue for almost half an hour. It was too crowded and the security guy didn’t know how to scan the bar code in the ticket!!! I booked online ticket to skip lines and not to waste time but this is what happened. I don’t recommend it in summer as the weather is so hot and many visitors are there.

The statues are great, but unless you're into tapestries and flooring, skip those areas. Our tour was 3 hours and would highly recommend skipping the tapestry areas and cut an hour off the tour. Possibly do the self guided tour and go at your own place instead of a group.

Most definitely buy tickets in advance, you do not want to be stuck in line here for hours. Our skip the line tickets got us in very quickly. There's only a wait at the security check.

There is no way this place has less than five ⭐️. People who dared to put less must haven’t chosen a guided tour, which would be crazy because YOU MUST take one before entering. These museums need storytelling. It is simply majestic and Breathtaking. You’ll be submerged by stunning colors and history while visiting. You could feel overwhelmed by the crowd, but if you focus on the guide's speech, the sculptures, frescoes, and paintings will make you forget about the people around you.

We had advance tickets, so no wait. Downside first- It is a very long self-guided tour, and it was busy. You get swept up in the tide of people and have to squeeze around the guided tours to get anywhere. It felt very claustrophobic by the time we got toward seeing the Sistine Chapel about 90% of the way through, and my friend had had enough by then, and then there was still lots left and several gift shops. Still, there is A LOT to see and it is rather spectacular. The sheer magnitude and volume of stuff is impressive by itself. The Ancient Egyptian exhibits are amazing and very interesting. The views are very much worth seeing too. Extremely impressive galleries. It's definitely worth it if you're into museums, artifacts, history, or art. And mummies.

I was really excited to come here, but there were so many people inside that it made the visit overwhelming. It felt like staff were simply trying to push us through a never-ending maze. I would not recommend coming here during the high season. I'm glad we purchased our tickets in advance though because we didn't have to wait in the really long line wrapped around the building. If you do visit, I would recommend a tour guide because without it, things don't fully make sense.

Amazing museum having wonderful painting excelling in art. Gives very good idea about the functioning of Vatican and the Hon Pope. The Vatican Museums are the public art and sculpture museums in the Vatican City. Very nice place to visit if you're a history buff, their collection is amazing from the old ruins of Egypt to the art works of famous world renowned artists from the past. And of course the religious relics on their possessions with tons of history behind it. Best to give it a day to really enjoy and explore the whole place then go to the St. Peter's basilica right after.

Obviously a must visit location. Arguably one of the greatest museums in the world with one of the greatest contemporary art collections I have ever seen. And of course the building is a work of art in its own right. Make sure to clear your schedule for the day and bring very comfortable shoes. And don’t rush the hall of maps. Probably my favorite part of the museum.

Wonderful and detailed museum. I did the early tour with breakfast and was happily pleased. The art collection is unbelievable and amount of history is incredible. Really really recommend this tour that’s only 2.5 hours and goes through a vast history of Rome, religion and the world.

Very nice complex of museums, the art is explained both in Italian and English, there are lot of bathrooms in the installations which is not commonly seen in Rome. Everything looks clean and well maintained. There are a couple of restaurants and caffe inside but I wouldn’t recommend eating inside. Visiting the museums is an all day trip, it is a long walk but definitely interesting and worth the time and money, the entrance is free for architecture students.

Must do in Rome. The art collection is just amazing. Also the inside gardens are very beautiful. It takes about 1,5 hours to complete the tour. Way better before 9 as you will be almost alone in some rooms. After 9 it gets packed.

Well worth a visit and definitely doable on your own! We ended up going with a guide, but as the early entrance to the Sistine Chapel and the passageway between the museums and St. Peter's Basilica is closed, it wasn't worth it to pay extra for a tour. We got there right when it opened and the line wasn't that long. They checked our Covid cards and we were able to check in and get audio guides. Be aware that there is no AC/heat once you get into the actual museums. We went at the beginning of March and it was little cold, but much better than being super hot in the summers.

The museum has amazing collections. They all were unique and interesting. I would recommend getting skip the line to enter easily, but be aware that the museums may still be very crowded (as you can see from my pictures). If you do go to see the sculptures in the collection, you will notice that many of them have had a leaf placed on them for “decency”. Visiting this museum is a must while in Rome. There is so many things to see and enjoy. We visited early in the morning so the crowd wasn't too bad. However, the exit is quite far, need to walk for roughly 15 minutes to leave the museum. The museum is full of visitors without any crowd control, really uncomfortable to explore the museum. Everything is very beautiful but make sure you wear the right shoes. It takes awhile to talk through even if you don't stop to look at everything along the path. We went on a day that wasn't very crowded which made the experience so much better. I have 3 kids ages between 6-12 and while they were a little bored there was enough to look at to keep them somewhat entertained. Bring water and good walking shoes and you'll be fine.

Everyone told us you MUST book a guided tour of the Vatican when you visit Rome and they weren't wrong - every room is breathtaking. There's so much to take in and can feel a bit overwhelming but our guide helped us find the important things to look at and her enthusiasm for the art was infectious. Easily the most significant collection of religious/world historical art and artifacts. 100% worth the admission ticket. I was pressed for time, so I skipped the audio guide (additional 7 euros). Took many photos. Be sure to remove your hat if you have one while inside any of the sacred areas.

Really enjoyed walking through the museum. Wall to wall amazement. Love the art throughout. Quick and easy to get in - not too crowded generally through Rome at the moment so it's been a great time to visit, take our time and enjoy the history.

Vatican is for sure a life investment that you have to make when you visit Rome. It's a classic museum complex of 10 different museums. Be prepared to have a really nice and enlightening experience. Book your tickets in advance, plan your rout through this journey, because otherwise it's really overwhelming. Have fun in the Vatican museums with exposes from all over the world!

Amazing beautiful collection that can't be described just by simple words, I recommend the visit, sparing at least 3 hours to it. The only cons is that audioguide is not describing pieces of art, just rooms, a person guide is better.

The Vatican Museums are very beautiful and amazing. The museum is so large, and if you wish to see every art piece, you can spend many hours in here. I would strongly suggest getting a guide, as it can be diffucilt for ”normal people” to find out what is important and what can be skipped. The Sistine Chapel is so unique and you can spend so much time in there. The fresco "School of Athens" by Michelangelo was also a highlight for us. (video)

The most profound thing I can say is WOW!! We did a 10 person tour and loved the small group experience; was able to learn a ton that way. The history contained on the grounds is amazing. Breathtaking is an understatement. Unfortunately, the Pope was not available to swing over and say hi to us. Maybe we will get a personal invite the next time we are in the neighborhood. Haha. One could only hope to have that luck. If in Rome, make this a must see stop.

A must see tourist attraction in Rome, although the entry ticket is overrated. The whole tour will take you half day. Make sure you don't get fooled when buying tickets from agencies and ressellers because it is a legal robbery.

The museum was nice, we made our reservation online and were able to exchange our tickets with physical tickets. There are some impressive paintings and murals in the museum but it can get quite overwhelming. Some historical things had no English description. It should take 3-4 hours to see the whole museum so make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes. There is a garden space in a small outdoor space where you can rest. The Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam is located inside the ceiling of the Sistine chapel but pictures are not allowed there.

Good experience, would definitely recommend on your trip to Rome . We purchased the audio guide and took our time. It took us 5 hours in total, so be prepared for a lot of walking. Everything is very clear and easy to get around . Plenty of history and art to be admired and discovered

Beautiful museum. The experience was very smooth and organized. I’ve booked online, which smoothened the experience even further. Expect a busy place. I’ve used the audio tour device, it was good. To better use it bring along headphones with normal aux port to use the device easily. Overall a beautiful museum. Definitely a must if you’re visiting Rome.

We went yesterday and I really recommend doing the morning your with breakfast included! It was absolutely beautiful and amazing! all in all of say for about two of us it was a little over 100 euros but worth it if you want to do it right and feel less crowded. Yes it is a lot of money but this was an absolute must on our list. We had to be there by 7:15am and meet our guide at 7:30. She knew so much about everything and would stop and ask if anybody has questions. She gave wonderful recommendations about other places nearby! The big plus was that although we are in a group tour, it is before they allow general admission in and it is way way way less crowded. No pictures are allowed in the Sistine chapel (btw) after the tour they gave us the breakfast which was delicious in their courtyard. after that you are free to wander back into the museum to any parts you want or feel you didn't have enough time to explore. We went back into the Sistine chapel for another look but this time was full of the general admission so it made us appreciate our morning tour.

You can spend hours here like most museums. Located around from St Peters Square about a ten min walk. You can buy tickets online or on the day there. The gardens you reach at the end of the tour are lovely and there a cafe which you can get food and sit outside. It really is a grass experience to view all the art and history.

If you are in Rome, you MUST visit this museum. A lot of history there and described very well and in an organized structure. The history you can is amazing and you will surprised how the old century lives. It’s indeed a great museum.

Important tip: Try to book your entrance to the museum well in advance of your trip, as the tickets often run out quickly! Inside you can see well known masterpieces of Michelangelo, Rafael and even Salvador Dali. It's a great experience to see them live. Museum is too vast to visit it properly within a few hours, so you have to prioritize. I wished the museum had also a section telling to historical narrative of Vatican and Rome. Visited the museum almost three years back and I was awestruck after visiting and seeing the marvels created by the people back then. The main attractions were the Sistine chapel and it's painting but the other things too were magnificent to see and explore. The drawings on the roof and walls, depiction of the bygone era simply astonishing. The sculptures, the things carved out of stones and library were also fascinating. The guide who was with us helped us to know the history as well significance of each things. Must visit place and remember u can not cover everything in a single visit.

The museum was gigantic. We spend more than 3 hours inside and we had still didn't see everything. Wee didn't came in peak season so there wasn't a line at the entrance and there wasn't a lot of people either. I had a lovely time, everything was beautiful and impressive.

Mesmerizing beauty. Each hall and corridor has so many beautiful paintings and sculptures - the private guide was excellent at explaining details, and was very funny too. The tour lasted two hours and time flew by so fast, as there is so much to see. I recommend getting a private guide as well as the “skip the line” tickets, this we didn’t have to wait at all and the overall experience was very smooth, security checks included.

We spent at least 3 hours here with my girlfriend, and I really loved every minute of it. There were a lot of things to see, from mummies and ancient pottery, to paintings and giant sculptures. The two parks were lovely even with quite a lot of people around. I recommend buying your ticket beforehand, as it makes the entry that much faster. The Sistine Chapel was breathtaking. Standing under Michelangelo's masterpiece filled me up with indescribable feelings. It really deserves to be seen at least once in one's lifetime.

This was a good museum. We did not have the time to explore as much as we wanted too but it had a lot of amazing sculptures and artwork! The best parts to me were the HUGE tapestries along the walls and the gold lit ceilings. Sometimes, there are open windows with amazing views of botanical gardens and mountains.

They have such a vast collection of art it's really quite unbelievable. There is so much to see. Unfortunately, because of vast amount of visitors it is very hard to stop and really appreciate the number of exhibits. A very large museum with many things to see. A tour guide was helpful but, it was timed. Best to go solo with a headset and you go your own pace but, get a map beforehand if you can to plan your visit and see the things you want to see.

Although there are time slots for visitors entrance, the place is packed. Paths are kind of marked but easily you can get lost. A lot of exhibitions, they are divided as they were created at different ages. There is a cafeteria to chill but accept cash only, at least the one nearest to the garden. It is advised to buy tickets in advance as the waiting line without reservation is enormous.

Walking tour let’s you skip the line and get important background information on the art. It was absolutely amazing being able to see all the art of the greats, from paintings to sculptures both new and old. Definitely could have spent more time roaming in here but it was very packed and our tour ended in St. Peters Basilica.

Incredible place to walk around and the tour we booked was very good and the guide was friendly. Booking directly from the official Vatican website was definitely the best way to go as they are cheaper and offer the same tours.

As good as it gets. The tour with breakfast is worth every penny. No crowds no drama. Peace and quiet as any museum should be. To top it off the breakfast was actually very decent with very good service.

This is a beautiful place. It will take you half day to go around the city. Book tickets in advance but it’s best to do a self guided tour as the English tour guides don’t have a clear English accent and the tours are difficult to follow. Better to book in advance if deciding to go.

It was always my dream to visit the Vatican and I wasn't disappointed:) There are a lot of tourists there so I would recommend buying tickets in advance (probably with the "Skip the Line" option). Sooooo busy, far too many people allowed in at the same time. Lots of big group tours and you are just unable to get through the crowds let alone actually look at things. The ceilings are absolutely beautiful but I wouldn't go again. Definitely book skip the line tickets as the queues are very long.

The only benefit to the guided tour is the back entrance out of Sistine Chapel through the Swiss guards corridor into St Peters Basilica. The museum itself is an experience. Easy to reccommend for spending at least 4 hours inside checking out all the art pieces. There is so much to do inside so I should come in early morning to even spend the whole day. In my opinion even on normal days during the high season (I was in Nov) one should buy individual tickets inside or be careful with no overpaying online bc the line is going quickly. You can either buy on line or when u get there. Beware. Buying when u get there u will queue. The Chapel is probably the last attraction around the whole museum. What a museum. From sculptures to reliefs to paintings by various famous artists throughout history. Depending on your take of history and walking speed. Looking at a good 2 hours. They do have a bistro and toilets. Lots of stairs.

Beautiful museum, Sistine chapel was the highlight! I got an audio guide instead of a tour guide and it let me go at my own pace and see what I wanted to see - would recommend. The museum can get very crowded towards the Sistine chapel part, and around 1-3pm, however it wasn’t a problem. The cafe in the courtyard was lovely and quite cheap.

Such a magical place to be in, but their route map was poorly made. We went there during a heat wave, but they only had a few fans and most rooms were boiling. I was not only concerned about people’s health and safety, but also the paintings. Also I missed some famous sculptures lol…The museum’s massive. One day visit is not enough.

Już dwa tygodnie wcześniej nie było biletów do kupienia na stronie oficjalnej. Polecam kupić je z dużo większym wyprzedzeniem. Koszt z natychmiastowym wejściem to 22€, a tak musieliśmy kupić 3 x drożej z przewodnikiem, bo wszystkie bilety wykupują inni sprzedawcy biletów. Kolejka od rana gigantyczna. Mimo, że podobno byliśmy już po za sezonem to dziennie odwiedza to muzeum 30-40 tysięcy ludzi, w sezonie dwa razy więcej, a i tak było bardzo tłoczno. Nie można było na spokojnie podziwiać eksponatów i trzeba pilnować przewodnika. Pierwsza część muzeum nie była ciekawa, dopiero na koniec zrobiło się fenomenalnie, aż brak tchu. Są wymagania co do ubioru, które są przestrzegane tylko przy wejściu.

Dużo wrażeń, piękne eksponaty trzeba to zobaczyć i przeżywać osobiście.
