The Pinecone Courtyard is one of the unmissable sights you see at the Vatican on the way to the Sistine Chapel. This massive courtyard is named after the 4 meters high bronze pinecone sculpture located at its one end.

Magnificent place, with the museum ticket you can go there, it is a nice break for those who got full experience and have to go to the other sites. The gardens have a phenomenal beauty feels like you are not in the heart of Rome, rather a peaceful quiet place. There is alao a nice cafe restaurant there for a quick bite.

Before going into the Vatican Museum, you will pass by this giant fractured sphere called Sfera con Sfera, translated as Sphere within a Sphere, is a bronze statue that appears golden as the sun shines down on it. It is 4 meters (a little over 13 feet) in diameter. First time i see it, really amazed me. maybe because its shining like gold. Good job to italian sculptor, Arnaldo Pomodoro. This is masterpiece!!.

Wonderful courtyard . There are also illustrations about the Sixteen Chapel which were superbly supplemented by our wonderful tour guide Fabiola from the Roman Guy. For my American friends: The CDC vaccination card is accepted everywhere instead of the European Green Pass

It's an amazing square inside the Vatican Museums. Green grass, neat and clean, nice seating place, mind blowing view of Saint Peter's Basilica' dome, 1st century's pinecone and Spere and Spere by Pomodoro.

Beautiful courtyard that tourist pass during the visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. There is a restaurant and benches to sit and relax and take a break if you wish. There is a Globe that spins in the center of the square. Worth making a short stop over here to enjoy the view and a cup of coffee.

This was a beautiful courtyard and such a nice break for our toddler to be able to walk and run around. For the majority of our Vatican tour, she was either stuck in her stroller or asleep. Once she woke up, she really wanted to stretch. The courtyard has a restaurant or Cafe, where we stopped to get some drinks and a snack to hold us over till dinner. You can't step on the grass but other than that, it's pretty open. There's a fountain with holy water right in between, the Cafe mentioned above, and a globe structure right in the middle. The courtyard wasn't packed but it wasn't empty either. There are some benches along the way and it was nice to get some sun. From the courtyard, there is a great view of the architecture of the Vatican and it is so much easier to appreciate it from this vantage point.

It is part of Vatican museums. It is beautiful courtyard. Experience in museum was terrible, because there was toooo many people in the museum. Also the Sixtine chapell was overcrowded and loud for a chapell. The Museum should have more strickt time slot with less people inside.
