On 04/22/2023 we also visited the new wing where many Greek and Roman statues such as the Augustus of Prima Porta are kept.

The collection on display presents a set of very well preserved Greco-Roman sculptures. Some of these statues are reproductions made by various ancient sculptors, which provides an illustrated look at the evolution of ideological currents throughout history. The museum itself is richly decorated to highlight the materials and shapes used, a feast for the eyes.

Braccio Nuovo is one of the 3 parts of the Chiaramonti Museum. The 28 niches display statues of Caryatid, Juno, the goddess of Fortune, and Artemis, as well as busts of famous Roman emperors (e.g. the bust of Emperor Hadrian). This is where there is a huge statue of the god of the Nile River, dating back to the end of the 1st century. It is worth staying longer and looking at the multitude of elements carved here.
