Maybe this is a case of wrong place and wrong time, but my experience with CAMH was one of belittling and being told I’m wrong about how I feel. The experience I had with a psychiatrist in this facility put me through a lot of turmoil, which was very hard to face, especially given the reasons I was there. After my appointment, I was left devastated and confused, which was especially hard as I rarely open up and let myself be vulnerable. I now have a fear of seeing another psychiatrist after this experience and could not recommend this facility to someone that is in a fragile state.

I’ve been attending the COMPASS program for almost two years and have always had respectful, informative, timely, just generally great care. I’m so grateful this resource exists and is as accessible as it is. If you’re struggling with mental illness, please check them out! They accept self-referrals and it’s a great step 💚

A cousin went in to get magnetic therapy and was told it would be a double blind study for two years so he declined as he wanted the support right away. Two years later they're still looking for lab rats for their own selfish reasons. Does camh want to help individuals or just further their studies? They put him on a medication with excessive weight gain and told him all medications cause weight gain, that is not the case.

Been seeing a psychiatrist here for most of my childhood and now into my adult years. I have panic disorder and chronic anxiety disorder, which is the condition that no matter what is going on, even if you're just sitting and doing nothing, you feel extremely anxious and/or panic-y. Have had it as long as I could remember. It can be debilitating, causing nightmares every night, and the feeling of panic when lying down to fall asleep (the worst part). CAMH saved my life. I would not be where I am today if not for their support. Thanks to them I can pursue a career, instead of feeling like someone has a gun to my head at all times.

CAMH considers the social determinants of health and play many supporting roles as part of the mental health and addiction care they provide to both in- and out-patients.

Just unbelievably amazing service overall. Really listens to the patient if you know exactly what you need in order to significantly improve your life. I've never had such support in my entire life from a single visit. Be grateful for what you have and understand that the professionals can only do so much for you, you have to take your mental health, physical health and substance disorders extremely seriously and do the research on what YOU need in an honest, open and responsible manner. Don't miss appointments. If you're deemed well enough to take a bit of time before taking medication, ask everything you need to know and take notes if necessary. If you need medication, ask about side effects of medications, contraindications, and go home and do your research. Any concerns that you come across when doing proper research is that with the suggested medication, call and ask about them. If you're going there for programmes, attend them. Don't miss a single one. Everyone has something in their life to live for. Even if you're completely alone, you'll get through it when you have resources like these. Go in with an open mind. Be truly, 100% honest about what's going on in your life and take your time. You won't regret it.

They deserve "minus 5" Based on my first hand experience with a close relative suffering from a mental illness, this organisation does nothing to help. People with a serious risk of self harm and suicide will be sent home. They don't admit people nor treat them. Psychological therapy (non medical part of it) is provided to people with connections not to any ordinary citizen. If you don't have connections you will not be treated in any proper way. They just push everything on the relatives of the ill person. The doctors only prescribe medication if it all and are irresponsible and badly trained. This organisation should undergo a serious investigation on how the public resources are used.

I am a 17 who is suffering from mental health problems like anxiety, aggressive behaviour towards my family since the age of 11 because of the toxic environment I grew up in. During covid when my problems was at its peek. So my family doctor, referred me to this so called mental health hospital, and had an appointment with dr Amanda Sawyer. To be honest she’s the most unprofessional, rude, and making rude comments towards me, kept saying that I am suffering with these problems because of my own carelessness(even though she came 10 minutes late for appointment) Like how can she even start judging a person she met 2 minutes ago, also the way she acts and behaves shows that she is not fit for her job. As a doctor your job your job to understand your patients, who are giving you time out of there busy schedule, instead harassing them. In my opinion there is point in paying so much taxes, even though we’re not even getting a better medical treatment that we deserve. It’s all because our healthcare industry being so biased, only hiring white and Jewish people in the healthcare industry. We need a change. #letsamkecanadagreatagain

Came for addiction and pain care and left feeling degraded and insulted left worse than I came in oct inpatient, removed all helpful medications, no replacements. Now after months of “treatment” I’m more suicidal than ever and in extreme pain and having regular panic attacks. I want to get better and all they want me to do is attend online groups to talk about pain an anxiety even though it’s a 2 decade issue that I’ve been medicated for before and while in inpatient but that care hasn’t been continued hence an extremely low quality of life and feeling broken beyond repair.

Dr.Hauck & Dr.Bertram are two outstanding physicians with vast knowledge in the respected fields they practice in... The reception staff at the RAM clinic are the rudest adminstrative staff I've ever encountered. They are rude, condensending and put no effort into there job. They have hung up on me multiple times, without even asking my name or inquiring on the issue im calling about, when sitting in the clinic they get annoyed if it's busy. Sarah however is pleasant to deal with, extremely put together, professional and actually does her job, if it wasn't for her I would have simply given up on this clinic for the treatment I've been subjected to with the admin staff.. I strongly suggest you deal with Sarah, the others are belittling.
