My family, friends and I stayed at the Smith Hotel for my wedding and had an absolutely amazing stay! The rooms are gorgeous and full of comfort, and the amenities are comforting and luxurious at the same time. The bed was so comfortable, and the shower was beautiful! The added touch of a record player and diffuser made the loft so incredible. Check in and check out was incredibly easy and the staff were fantastic, friendly and very accommodating! Thank you so much Smith Hotel!

Stayed at The Smith Hotel for 2 nights in a fantastic loft room which was clean, modern and super chic! The hotel is a converted church which is one of the most unique hotel experiences I've ever had. Convenient location in the heart of downtown Kingston. Next time I return I will 100% rebook at this hotel.

Our stay at the Smith was nothing short of spectacular. The lofts are elegantly appointed with tons of attention to detail. Great beds, well equipped kitchen and even a turntable with a selection of vinyl. the location is great, and the city can be explored on foot easily. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone with discerning taste.

Very unique accommodations in a beautiful limestone church built in 1864 right in the heart of downtown Kingston. State of the art technology throughout all amenities starting with the super easy check in, check out process. Beautiful furnishings, appliances, decor items from interesting coffee table books, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, turntable with a collection of old albums and smart TV, aromatic room defuser and a kitchen fully equipped to make your stay like being in your own home! Nothing was forgotten when planning and completing this transition of the 168 year old church to this absolutely beautiful hotel all while keeping the heritage and integrity of the original architecture. Every detail from the surrounding grounds and gardens to the choice of color palette, signage details throughout, lighting details through the hotel, beautiful Victoria + Albert sink in the bathroom with extra large walk in shower, linens, remote control blinds, beautiful custom wood work throughout including the stunning staircase that takes you from the living area to the loft bedroom. If you like you could even make yourself a nice cup of morning coffee and enjoy on a bench or with your laptop at the lovely bistro tables in the courtyard garden right outside the front door of the hotel! The staff, although quietly present, are all super lovely and professional all while exemplifying such pride in their work. They are accessible and accommodating if needed. So nice to see these days! I would highly recommend you include a stay at this stunning hotel on your next itinerary in Southeastern Ontario. Oh by the way did I mention there is lots to do in the area! I look forward to returning for another stay before too long!

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of staying at the new Smith Hotel in downtown Kingston. We found it online and the website was spot-on with what we our experience could be. An amazing combination of old and new. The architectural and interior finishes were stunning. Added to this, the conveniences provide in the room, made you feel that every detail has been considered for our comfort. We were a little intimidated by the self check-in/out process, but it was seamless. Looking forward to returning to The Smith next summer!

First class boutique hotel!! This place is stunning - so much attention to detail. Architecturally it is amazing, and everything in it, is equipped with high end materials and equipment. From the kitchen (temperature gauged unique tea kettle, etc etc etc), to the bathrooms (rain shower and amazing toiletries) to the small touches like candles, gifts of high end teas, coffee, olive olive and vinegar. The mattresses and bedding were amazing as well. I was travelling with my son (me on business, and meeting in Kingston), and instead of booking a hotel room for the two of us, I booked the two bedroom premium loft. What an experience. We have travelled to many fine hotels around the world, and this is unparalleled. My son (who is in an architectural/engineering program) was totally impressed. This made our short two night vacation, into an experience, not just a hotel stay. It was within walking distance to everything in the centre of Kingston, with convenient parking outside of our door. Thank you!!

We really loved the unique architecture - modernized loft in a repurposed church is super cool and interesting! We appreciated the thoughtful decor and interesting books. Loved the record player! We appreciated and enjoyed the local treats - great way to showcase and support local. Perfect location, just around the corner from Princess St and the excellent Northside Espresso & Kitchen, and a quick walk to so many other places. Appreciated the guest binder upon arrival.

A beautifully restored church with high end decor. Kitchen is very well fitted and many extra treats throughout. Excellent location to shops and restaurants . But it’s so lovely here it’s hard to even leave the space!

The hotel was a fun and unique experience. From walking down the hallways. Which I do not know how else to describe the lighting but to say it's sexy lol. And the room was an absolute dream! Exceeded our expectations on every level. And the bottle of champagne for our wedding night was a very sweet touch đź’•. We will be back for sure. And have already been spreading the word that the Smith hotel is where it's at!

We absolutely loved the self check in and when we walked into our room we audibly gasped at the beauty of the place. It is wonderfully designed and decorated, spacious and quite grand. We were there to celebrate our 21st anniversary so this getaway was special for us. I’m quite sensitive to noises and light, so those of you who may also be like me, this is my experience to help you. Our suite had hard surfaces everywhere so the echo caused by cement floors and stone kitchen counters plus the stone walls had me on edge! We could definitely here other hotel guests scraping chairs across their floors and we could hear footfalls from high heeled shoes as well as conversations. There are lights coming from places I could not detect as well as from the TV screen. I tried my best to block any lights, but it was not possible to block all of them. The bed in the loft was very comfortable, but I ended up on the couch for 4 nights because I didn’t even think about where the bathroom was when booking this room! It was difficult to navigate the stairs in the middle of the night especially with a sore knee. My partner was woken up every time I descended the stairs to use the bathroom. After my second trip down I decided to sleep on the couch. What a pity! Nearly $400 a night for the room and I get a scratchy couch to sleep on. Luckily for me there were a couple of blankets but they mostly weren’t needed as it was exceedingly hot in our room even though the thermostat was off. Having said all that, the kitchen was very well equipped with excellent quality cookware and dishes as well as glassware and cutlery which we really appreciated. The bedding was superior and bathroom had a lovely walk in shower with a rainfall shower head. Robes were provided. Other decor included books and vinyl records which we felt were curated just for us. Unfortunately we experienced some problems with being charged for the room repeatedly (apparently a rookie error) and my partner is still trying to get that resolved.

Immaculate Vibes at the Smith Hotel! My and my partner visited after a recommendation from some friends and we were so impressed! So grand but still boutique style. Fully stocked with luxury local goods - drinks snacks and spa quality amenities. Self check in was a breeze and close to downtown - we walked to dinner. Overall a short stay but absolutely will be back!

My wife and I chose The Smith Hotel for a quiet, romantic getaway during the winter holiday break. And we are so so happy we did! Before we even arrived, the communication on retrieving our keys and getting parked was detailed and clear, delivered both by text and email. Never having been to a hotel that doesn’t have regular on-site staff, I was unsure what to expect, but the process could not have been smoother. When we entered our beautiful loft space, we both were in awe. It was so cozy and the perfect amount of ambient lighting had been left on to welcome us. It also smelled really good - a very subtle but warm scent that brought to mind books and leather and old wood. It made you want to just curl up and never leave! The amenities were outstanding, with a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals, a beautifully-appointed bathroom with premium bath and body products and two plush bathrobes to use, and a record player with Bluetooth speaker that let us keep the vibes going at all times. A nice touch was that one of the records was a compilation of music from Kingston artists, which we really enjoyed. The only “snag”, if you could even call it that, was that I found the room very warm (I’m a person who doesn’t tolerate heat well) and I was having trouble getting the AC unit to cool the space down. And then the remote for the unit stopped working. However, even though it was after-hours, the mobile concierge team answered my questions right away and gave me some ideas to troubleshoot - after trying a few things it turns out the remote batteries were dying, and then dead, so the unit wasn’t responding to the output. Exceptional service and communication all around, I was really impressed and grateful for the assistance. Needless to say, we LOVED every minute of our stay at The Smith Hotel and will only ever stay here when we visit Kingston in the future.

We had a wonderful stay in the two bedroom loft. My sisters and I had a girl’s night sleepover and wanted to treat ourselves as there has been an ongoing illness in the family. The setting and rooms are beautiful, and everything you need is supplied. What a beautiful touch to supply cream for coffee/tea and ice. I wish I had known this before I made a stop before checking in, to buy some! The housecoats are a thoughtful gesture as well. I had a wonderful sleep in a bed all to myself, nestled away in a cozy room. This wouldn’t matter to some I’m sure, but the temperature in the room for sleeping was perfect. I also love the glass and open feeling to see down to the living area. The record player was a lovely touch, although we couldn’t seem to get it started. Followed the clear directions but couldn’t connect to Bluetooth, maybe our devices were interfering somehow. Anyway, overall a wonderful stay, would absolutely love to return.

We had the pleasure of staying at Smith Hotel in Kingston for a couple of nights and it is truly a charming and well thought out venue. The suite was very well equipped and with thoughtful conveniences and it had a clean and comfortable layout. Unlike many places, this was clearly setup with their guests in mind. As an additional 'experience' we did encounter a wee inconvenience during our stay and they also handled that with awesome integrity. Perhaps that is the biggest test of all for any vendor - and they did an exceptional job to make it right. Rest assured that if a curve is thrown your way (which we doubt) they won't be running in the other direction! Certainly, if you're looking to stay here - have no worries about how you will be treated, about the class of the accommodation or for dealing with any of the ALL-professional staff. D&L

Greatly exceeded our expectations. Living space is gorgeous and the attention to details were endless. The decor, amenities, comfort and location were +++. We spent as much time as possible in unit because it was so cozy and homey. Will definitely come back now that I have discovered this gem.

I had the pleasure of staying in Loft 4 of The Smith Hotel recently & it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I walked through the door I knew I was in a very special space. The Smith is a beautiful, unique hotel that has been very thoughtfully decorated and supplied, using many local offerings to add to its charm. The check in/out process was seamless & staff incredibly attentive when needed. I enjoyed every single minute & would stay there again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!

Our stay at The Smith Hotel was excellent in every regard. Truly one of the best stays I’ve had, and I have stayed in many boutique hotels. The location was perfect and convenient, which made navigating each day in the downtown area easy. The room itself was astoundingly gorgeous; every little detail has been thought of including a record player, fresh ground coffee from a local roasters, motion censored lights to the loft where the bed is located, every possible appliance you could need to cook, and so much more. There truly wasn’t a detail missed. The space was also quiet, clean, and temperature controlled. We will absolutely be returning to The Smith Hotel whenever we are in Kingston and will recommend it always!

I’ve done lots of travelling and stayed in lots of hotels, The Smith is easily one of the best. Beautifully appointed lofts that feel like home. Simplest and most convenient check in / out process I’ve ever experienced. Restaurants, shops, and venues all walkable. And The Smith Team are masters at keeping you informed prior to, and during, your stay. I honestly cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE!!!

We had an absolutely great time at The Smith Hotel. Great location to be able to walk the city of Kingston. Was able to get a late checkout. The loft was modern, clean and extremely comfortable. We’ve already booked our next visit back!

A total gem of a hotel in a great location, within a few minutes walk to restaurants and shops. We stayed in a 2 BR loft and it was impeccable in every way. The bedrooms had inside windows that opened to the living space - it felt like staying in a luxurious treehouse! Most things in the loft were meticulously selected from what looked like Canadian companies, all the way down to the snacks. We stayed here on a very cold weekend and still had a great time. Great service - our bathroom light was fixed, towels exchanged promptly. Highly recommend the Smith Hotel for a family getaway.

We’re big travellers and have stayed at a variety of motels, hotels, resorts and this was by far the nicest place we’ve been to. It truly felt like being home. There was so much attention to detail in the decoration, amenities, etc. The location was also perfect - our car stayed parked at the hotel the whole time as we were able to walk everywhere. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kingston.

My wife and I stayed at the Smith Hotel while in Kingston for a work obligation. Our stay was two nights (Thur and Fri) and it was amazing. The church exterior was beautiful and the interior renovations/suites were incredible (I'm running out of glowing words). It was so clean that my wife insisted we were the first guests there. Amenities were well thought out. The contact-less check in / check out worked like a charm. There was a car parked in our parking spot but we were able to get ahold of someone to rectify the situation when we arrived after 9pm. The support team available by text and phone was very responsive. I highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return.

We were thrilled! The hotel inside a church but with modern interior design. Comfortable like own home. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the core of the city with variety restaurants, shops and etc. Hotel staff are kind and helpful. It was a unique and unforgettable experience!

My partner and I recently had a chance to stay at The Smith Hotel. We are from Kingston but we were looking to spend a special evening downtown together for his birthday. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, with a modern and stylish aesthetic. The loft was unique, spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities you could need. The location was perfect, and made it easy and quick to get to our dinner reservation. I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay and experience at The Smith, we already can't wait to go back!

This was one of the best hotel experiences we have had! From the moment we booked the service was amazing. The hotel itself is amazing, such a cool vibe. We stayed in the 2 bedroom terrace loft as a family of 4 and it was perfect. The room was so well appointed. We didn't want to leave. It is outfitted with everything you could need. The location is great as well. I am not sure why you would stay anywhere else when in Kingston!

We had a great stay at The Smith. We stayed in one of the lofts and the interior was beautiful and there was great attention to detail. Lovely soaps and creams and ground coffee and teas. We enjoyed our time exploring the city and relaxing in the loft and on the terrace. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed a two nights stay while moving our daughter Kingston for university. Our room was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable. We loved the little touches, record player, Bluetooth speaker, wine/beverage glasses, fully equipped kitchen, cookbooks, bathrobes, lovely scented bath products, kitchen soaps and a diffuser. The location was central, a short walk to the waterfront and a short walk to the university.

The Smith Hotel was a Luxurious getaway for our anniversary weekend. The attention to detail in this build was evident. The ease of check in/out was amazing. No issues at all.
