Shashi’s
cooking
class
(named
after
her
daughter)
was
a
brilliant
experience!
Most
importantly:
the
food
was
DELICIOUS
-
the
best
we
ate
in
Sigiriya.
Shashi
speaks
good
English
and
she
and
her
sister
in
law
were
lovely
hosts.
They
let
us
cook
as
many
curries
as
we’d
like
(we
chose
to
make
curries
with
all
the
vegetables
they
had
-
aubergine,
local
golden
apple,
long
beans,
winged
beans,
lentil
daal,
okra)
and
we
made
fresh
coconut
milk
to
cook
with.
The
coconut
sambar
we
made
was
delicious
too.
Everything
is
cooked
over
a
wood
fire
using
traditional
materials
like
clay
pots
and
spoons
made
of
coconuts.
Highly
recommend
this
experience!
Everything
was
vegan
so
if
you’re
looking
for
a
vegan
cooking
class
in
Sri
Lanka,
I
would
definitely
suggested
contacting
Shashi!
They
offer
non-veg
options
if
you
like
as
well.
She
is
very
accommodating
in
terms
of
what
time
you
want
to
cook
with
her
too.
If
you
come
when
it
is
light
out,
she
will
also
show
you
around
her
garden
where
many
of
the
vegetables
grow!
Thank
you
so
much
for
hosting
us
