Although the entire area is known for it Bifanas (basically a pork sandwich) there's something about the food in this place that stands out from the other. This is not a big place, it's a small joint with something like 5 people serving and 3 cooking. Yes, it takes 3 people to cook everyday, and you'd be surprised if you say just how many (little) tables are there. All I can, and have to say about this place, I can do so in just this one sentence: Every once in a while I'll travel from Lisbon to this place just to eat the damn bifanas! And it's worth it every time...

It never disappoints. I think I already reviewed this place once, but might as well do it again to be sure. So yes, it is that good. The star of the show is the pork sandwich, of course, which I recommended to have with a bit of mustard. But do your soul a favour and warm your heart by asking for one of their soups. The Caldo Verde and the tomato soup are my favourite. As for deserts, regardless of how many times I try to convince myself that I don't need one, I always end up having the Farófias. Just saying.

One of the best houses for tasting "bifanas" of Vendas Novas! I highly recommend it as you pass over this place at any time! You can get one the best soups with "bifanas" and certainly the best "empadas" from the region, you can taste with several different flavours, from traditional to the most innovative.

Had 'Bifanas' here. Was so tasty. There was a large group of us and everyone got served quite quickly. Would recommend.

You should have one delicious soup, bifana beer and take empadas to eat later at home.In fact I eat it while driving back home.

We always pass by Vendas Novas on the way to Évora from Lisbon airport... There is always a good excuse to stop and eat two or three Bifanas (bread and pork tenderloin). The Vendas Novas recipe is good in almost every bar and restaurant of the city but for me the best ones are found here.. The flavour is just to die for!!! If you are passing by, STOP and EAT! Enjoy!

Best bifanas in Vendas Novas, a must stop if you are through the region, the only problem is being able to eat only one. Their empadas are also great with a lot of options to choose from. Great stop in vendas novas.

Stopped by exclusively to tryout the well-knowned bifanas de vendas novas. We started with the traditional caldo verde soup and a very tasty empada de alheira. The classic bifanas came after and I must say now I know why all the buzz. Simple and great. Had to order another one. If you're going that way, I recommend you stopping by chaminé. The space is nothing to remember, and you probably will have to wait in line but in the end it's all worth.
