We had an excellent time on a private family tour of the canals in Venice with thanks Nicoló and Aleksandra. Their business is very kind, professional, ethical and environmentally-friendly and definitely worth supporting. Not speaking Italian was no problem at all for us. Nicoló was an excellent canoeing teacher and guide. We were very safe and well looked after.

Rowing with Nicolò was so much fun! Not only did we learn how to row, but Nicolò shared with us a lot about the culture, architecture and history of Venice. This is definitely the most valuable and unforgettable way to experience Venice.

We did the sunset tour and couldn't recommend enough. Niccolo was a great guide and kayaking the canals just before sunset was magical. Pace was nice and slow and anyone could do it.

A few weeks back I did a tour, which was a gift from supervisor, and she couldn't have given me a better gift. I was mortally scared, since I never kayaked before, but Nicolo and Aleksandra did such an amazing job! So much so that we went kayaking again and I want to continue it at home. Thank you for this fabulous experience! I really felt like I could get to know a more intimate side of Venice and I will always fondly remember venetian gothic windows. Wonderful kayak trip combined with city tour) That’s was my first experience of kayaking and I was rather slow and disorganized in rowing first time but Alexandra and Nikolo helped to feel the water, waves and kayak itself. I’ve got warm atmosphere and new view to the city. Strongly recommended!)

We booked a sunset tour in October, which began at the local rowing club. Alexandra gave us a short history of the club and showed us the beautiful boats in storage, and then we set off on our trip with Niccolo. Seeing Venice by kayak transformed sightseeing into sight-experiencing. Niccolo was an excellent guide, enthusiastic about his city and careful about safety. Highly recommended.

My friend and I went on an evening kayak tour with Nicoló and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Venice! We were joined by another two kayaks, and another group of four kayaks or so went off with another guide. For such a tourist-filled city, Cao Rio’s tours give you a more calm, intimate, insider’s view of Venice that is very hard to find. Nicoló and his colleagues are efficient, kind, and knowledgeable, both about their craft and their city. Nicoló is fluent in several languages, including English, Spanish, and French, so people from all over can be sure to have the same wonderful experience that we did :) Grazie!!!

It was an unforgettable experience! I had been many times before in Venice but Niccolo changed completely the way I see the city now. My friend and I had a wonderful time kayaking with Nicolo through Venice. Since he was born and raised there, he gave us a real Venetian history tour on kayak. The kayaks were also very nice and clean. Very much recommend.

A truly unforgettable experience once in Venice! We had the tour around a Venetian lagoon, which gives a completely different perspective from the point of view of Venetian nature and history. The other day, I took a Cultural kayak tour in Venice. History is my passion and being able to see the Arsenal and ask Nicolò questions was an awesome experience for me. The most exciting part was when the tour started at the historical rowing club. When you're there, you can see with your own eyes something that was not available to me, the traditional boats, the Venetian rowing. I felt drawn to the city's history and traditions. A big thank you to Nicolò.

The Naturalistic kayak tour was fantastic! I am always looking for new experiences in new cities and places, and I was struck by the beauty of the lagoon and the chance to kayak through it! The guys in my group were young and active, we chatted after the tour, and it was nice to participate even though I am a single traveler. Then, I liked that Nicolò, our guide, pushed us to pick up the trash we saw in some places! He gave us gloves and bags. It was something that made me feel important to the city, that I can help even as a tourist! Very nice! Thank you!

Wonderful kayak tour. My girlfriend and I went for the naturalistic tour in the lagoon and the romantic tour along the canals. We strongly recommend it to whoever wants to enjoy Venice from a different perspective in a sustainable way. The guide is very knowledgeable, he'll take you through history and tradition of the city and you'll discover the hidden gems in Venice.

We love water sports, and kayaking in Venice is unforgettable! I paddled in Venice for the second time, but for the first time in winter. And it's so great in winter, since we had the canals to ourselves, there was much less traffic, and it was so quiet… It's so beautiful and mysterious at sunset in Venice! Thanks Nicoló for such a great workout and exploration! Btw, we heard about Cao Rio from our friends, and we'd definitely recommend it too!

Nicoló and Aleksandra have put together a fantastic experience for those wishing to kayak in Venice. I did the sunset night tour for winter. First they weren’t sure they had enough people but then went out of the way to find another paddler so that I could go on the day I was available. It would have been so easy to just say sorry the trip is cancelled but they made it happen! At the beginning and end you get to learn about the history of the boat house! Now for the tour, Nicoló is an experienced paddler and quick to access the skills of the group. In the online explanation and in chatting later they often will spend up to 30 minutes teaching the basics of kayak (what a great deal for a more novice paddler in a beautiful setting too!!). However given that I have experience and the other person joining was quick study we left after just a few min to kayak out into the open water before heading into the canals. It was just a stunning evening with views of the mountains and sunset over the city. While in the canals you have lights to ensure other boats can see you. The value is unrivaled you are out able to paddle around for 2 hours at the same cost as a 30 min gondola. Additionally, you get to see the architecture, with an explanation of Venice history as Nicoló is a local from Venice. Being on the water at night when it is quiet and calm was serene. You also get photos and videos after which is a nice way to remember the experience without having to be focused on taking pictures, you just get to enjoy! Note that it is clear in the website that it is important you have some experience and or quick to pick up activities as the canals can be tight, so probably not for everyone, everyone. But for those who are able this was the highlight of my month long trip!
