I like the room and service of The Plaza Hotel in Venice. The location is perfect. The hotel is across the street from the train station or bus stop, and the airport bus is only a few minutes walk. The train from The Plaza Hotel to the Grand Canal is only one station or less than 10 minutes ride. The room is comfortable with excellent service in the lobby. We did not prepay for the hotel breakfast but ended up having the buffet breakfast at the hotel almost every day. The breakfast is good and costs ten euros per person only.

Don't believe the pictures!!! It's almost as if the hotel lobby and some rooms were renovated but definitely not ours. It was straight from the 70's, including blue stained carpets, a bathroom that you can barely fit in with a weird bathtub that had a shower head but a half piece of glass. There was NO WAY to take a real shower without spraying the rest of the bathroom. The tub and shower tiles were coated in mold. We couldn't change the temp in the room. During hot summer, that's rough. Our bed was an extra firm mattress on a box spring on the floor. Good stuff.... The location is great as it is directly across from the train station. They don't have parking, but they partner with a lot behind the hotel, only a 3 minute walk around the block. The front desk personnel were courteous.

Our room was nicely decorated and bathroom was fairly nice coming with amenities such as a hairdryer. The hotel is really nicely situated across from the main train station. Some amazing eateries are also located here. Overall the hotel is in need of renovations but sure offers the location and ambiance of Venice and the surrounding areas. The location is nothing short of tremendous. Recommended for couples or for friends, freelancers working away looking for great value for money. This is a brilliant location with much to do during the day and night. The joys of Venice is near by and generally food and drinks are excellent in this area. Recommended.

We had a fantastic stay at The Plaza Hotel. Everything we wished for in the booking was provided by the wonderful team here. The rooms were among the biggest we have seen anywhere with great linen and pillows. The breakfast had a great continental spread and ran from 6:30 to 10. The location was perfect for hopping onto the trains for trips to Venice and the long distance trains. The check-in was smooth and the staff were the best that I have come across. Other than struggling to find a way to call the reception over the intercom, everything was perfect.

Plaza Venice Hotel. The hotel very beautiful, clean, big room and big toilet. We love the hotel so much, feel cozy & romantic too. After whole day long , we can have a good rest in such hotel. Highly recomended if you visit Venice. Easy access near to train station and restaurant is nearby.

This location was absolutely perfect, it was right across the street from the Maestro train station. That would take you to Venice, Italy. 1,40โ‚ฌ a ticket. A McDonaldโ€™s is in the train station as well right across the street and there is a beautifully attached restaurant to this hotel. For an American size room with my two children I ended up renting out the family executive suite and it was beautifully spacious with two large queen or king size beds.

The location is excellent for the train station and bus station, literally over the road. Our room is lovely for our 3 night stay. We had 2 issues which were sorted immediately. One was the air conditioning, and the other the sink plug wouldn't work, but once reported, solve whilst we were out. Breakfast is more than adequate. Personally, l prefer the continental, plenty to choose from, breads, ham, cheese, croissants, and other delightful little cakes. We couldn't fault the service, they let us check in early as the room was ready and late check out -12 midday.

Apart from our first visit to Venice, when we stayed in another hotel next door, we choose this hotel every time we come to Venice. First of all, it's in a very good location, which I like very much. Secondly, opposite the hotel, there is a good Chinese restaurant. There is also a supermarket next to the hotel, a bus stop to the main island is on the doorstep, and you can easily get to the island by train. You can go and come back at any time. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The public areas of the hotel are small and elegant. However, it should also be noted that in some floors of this hotel, the toilet will smell like sewage, and the toilet door must be closed and open for ventilation 24 hours. I wonder if it's better now.

Stayed here for 2 nights between 28 - 30 May, good location for travelling into Venice as there is a bus stop and train station really close. Mind you, it does take a while to get into San Marco/San Polo but the hotel is a good alternative to the poor value for money hotels available in the city centre. Hotel has good amenities but has poor sound proofing.

Me and my partner have spent 3 nights in this hotel. The only one plus, is that the hotel is close to train station, which means, fast access to Venice. Hotel itself needs a renovation. Everything looks outdated. Our room overall looked clean, but the bathroom was awful. Strange smell, hair dryer was very dirty and full of dusts, the plastic in some places was broken. I was afraid to use it, becouse it looked like it could explode any time. Just 2!!! power outlets. One in the bathroom and one in the room. Breakfast was simple, all food was cold, but croissants was nice. Overall i wouldn't recommend.

The hotel is right in front of the train station, making it convenient for getting around. The staff are very friendly. The bed in room 620 is comfy and clean. Having a bar fridge is great, the room is warm. There are also good TV channels. Breakfast is decent, but the coffee isn't great, possibly due to cheap coffee beans. Couldn't drink it. However, the restaurant's Soul Kitchen serves excellent coffee, providing a better option.

Bad for value, the location may be the only good thing. I am at the hotel right now and it just took me 15 minutes just to load Google Maps because the WiFi stops every 5 minutes or less. (The same thing happened on my phone, laptop, iPad, etc...) Also we are at a twin room and there are only 2 sockets (which sticks together and can't fit two plugs). The room is small. Amenities and room service are decent. Also the window is NOT SOUNDPROOF and we aren't sleeping because people are literally partying outside right now (it's past 1am). Cleanliness is alright.

The neighbourhood is dangerous after midnight, so be aware if you're arriving late. The hotel is located opposite of a train station, you can buy cheap tickets there to go to Venice within 10 minutes. We booked a room which didn't look like the photo's on the website at all, it was old, dated and small. After we complained about it, we got another room which was a bit better. However the bed wasn't comfortable at all. Breakfast wasn't that good as well, not a lot of choice and variety. Probably the worste I've experienced.

We do travel and work abroad a lot, making at least 40 trips per year, especially since our kids are grown up and independent. As everybody can understand to travel and staying in a hotel for me and my wife is neither restful nor stressful. We have chosen the Plaza Hotel to sleep after an intensive day in Venice. The staff was nice and friendly, the breakfast was o.k. The point is that unfortunately starting at 5 a.m. we could hear sounds made outside ( people, buses and cars). They should work on soundproofing the rooms facing the railway station Venezia Mestre. Otherwise they will be more complaints.

Good bargain hotel, clean tidy although there were no tea/coffee supplied in our room and the room fridge bar items are charged for. Great location opposite train station for easy reliable travel into Venice, I would definitely recommend this hotel, plenty restaurants in the local area to choose from, Indian, Chinese. Local shops for snacks or general items.

The hotel is close to the railway and bus stations. Wide and clean room, helpful staff and delicious breakfast!. We had amazing stay in Venice!

We had 3 nights here and can't really complain much. The hairdryer didn't work in the bathroom but we told reception and it was replaced that day. There was only 1 plug socket in the room and 1 in the bathroom which is annoying. But other than that, a great stay. Directly across from the train station and breakfast had a great selection for Italian breakfast.

Split rating here as the first room we were in was very dated, in need of renovation as many have noted and lacked even an electric kettle, but with an issue to the room we were upgraded to a much nicer newer modern looking room with a full tub and rainforest shower, which was the type of room I was expecting from the start (and is the type shown on the website photos). Location is perfect for travel into Venice as the bus stop (bus #2) and train station are both just across the street. Overall the rating and value of your stay depends on what quality of the room you are booking into.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are extremely outdated with all plastic appliances gone yellow due to the pass of time. Bath chipped in many places, cracked tiles in the bathroom and a drain hole in the middle of the bathroom that bubbles up when you shower, there is a bad smell in the rooms. They have a very nice breakfast and it's very well located with the train station literally across the road and also a bus across the road that takes you into town. Clean linen and towels every day.

Great hotel clean rooms and lovely staff. Perfect location to visit Venice by day and relax in the evening. Station right across the road only ยฃ1.23 one way into Venice absolutely perfect.

Hotel Plaza was our selection while we were en route to Venice from Florence and this property was right at the train station, one stop before Venice Main station. The rooms were cozy and the food was delicious. We opted this property to relax ourselves before heading for the city tour, the next day. This property is well accessed by Bus and Train, whichever suits you the best to Venice.

Location x3! For an 8 minute, 1.45 Euro train ride out of Venice to Mestre, you get a 3 star room across the street from the train station and a 4 star restaurant at HALF the Venice price. The staff were wonderful. Room is basic but has what you need, and everything works properly (not true in most of Italy).

Arrived for our 3 Days in Venice. Great Location! Train station over the road to Venice literally 2 stops! Staff were great with English! Staff were great. Checked in straight away no messing about. Left us to our own devices, when needed they were there. Room is basic, but everything you need is in there. Room came with a safe and hairdryer. 15 min drive from Marco Polo Airport If you're looking for a hotel to stay in whilst visiting Venice highly recommend The Plaza Hotel! Would book with them again on our next visit to Venice!

Once you step out of Venice Mestre Station, the first hotel you see is The Plaza. Perfect location for any tourist using that station for entry into or exit from Venice. Besides, there are bus stops right opposite and beside the hotel. There are Chinese and Indian restaurants within minutes and another intercontinental right within the hotel. It is well located for various services- shops, bars, etc. The rooms are old and worn and could do with some painting. Breakfast was complimentary and with a variety of choices to make from. The staff communicated easily in English and were helpful. They actually had a left luggage service where I left mine to tour the city after checking out. It's a high rise with adequate lift facility.

Excellent room with our dog for under 100E night. Terrific alternative to staying in Venezia and paying the high prices. The train station is across the street and it's just minutes into the city. We even got up early to go in just for pastry and coffee. Trains run frequently you don't have to wait. Parking in back or in the tower garage next door, about 16 per day. Staff very friendly, room huge and modern, dog fee only 10E night.

Perfectly nice hotel situated directly opposite the railway station so only 15 minutes from Venice. Large multi story car park nearby so no problem with the car. Clean, large room and good value for money. Only real downside....the coffee from the coffee machine at breakfast was absolutely revolting!!!

It is located right in front of the train Station where you have connections to Venice, airport by bus. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only weakness is their staff. The receptionist was not friendly. I just wanted to ask some questions but he asked back me so many questions: my name, my room, my passport...while I already checked in from the day before. So that I have to come up and down to show him my identity. What's a lost of time.

Good location, nice lobby. The soul kitchen restaurant food was delicious. The room smelled too much of cigarette smoke, I don't mind it so much but I had to open the window to sleep better.

  • 1/5 Karol H. 2 years ago on Google
The location of the hotel is very good, however that is the only positive thing about this place. Check-in took 20min (only one receptionist), terrible breakfast, guests fighting over piece of bread, no clean cutlery, glassesโ€ฆ. The room is definitely not 4* experience. Dirty walls, furniture well used. Would not recommend to stay in.

Old hotel but clean. Breakfast ...could be better. Very good hotel's restaurant. Ideal place to stay in terms of transportation, bus stops very close to the hotel: to Venice, and both airports (Venice and Treviso).

The only great thing about Plaza is that it is right opposite to Mestre station. Firstly, despite growing up in a developing country, I found the neighbourhood around the hotel to be quite scary to walk around even during day time. So I can't imagine how it must be after dark or for a solo female traveller. Good thing there are a lot of cops on patrol. Secondly, the receptionists are very friendly and they try to provide quick fixes to the problems you might have as we later saw. Thirdly, room was at the level of a 2 star. The bed had sliding wheels so a little force in any direction made it move. There were no charging points available other than in the bathroom so when we asked in the reception they gave us a long extension cord to bring the charging point near our bed from the bathroom. I'm unsure how that's ok despite being a fire hazard and it doesn't allow the bathroom door to close. Thirdly, the bathroom was quite old but clean. But we could hear quite vividly when someone above us "used their toilet and shower" from within our bathroom. The room cleaning service was good. Finally, the room has a smart keycard entry lock and the weird thing is that there are absolutely no locks from inside. Despite trying our best to lock the door in whichever way we could, the next morning, we had the room service walk into the room by opening the door with their keycard despite us being inside. This made us feel somewhat unsafe that someone with access could just walk into the room when we are asleep at night. Overall, not a 4 star experience.

Nicely placed hotel, just across the railway station, so quick access to Venice. The room was nice and clean, just the bathroom was kind of old and the bathtub was clogged. Everything else great, excellent buffet breakfast, nice choices, very friendly stuff. You should definitely get an espresso with your breakfast. I would stay there again in future.

  • 4/5 Xander C. 1 year ago on Google
Ideally situated by the train and bus station. Good breakfast for someone who doesn't just eat pastries, cheese and ham. Rooms are clean and spacious and have fridges. It's an old building, in some places you can see it. Overall a definite must stay given the price and the location.

Excelent location. Train, bus to and from Venice, to and from airport in front of the hotel. Room very clean. Furniture a bit old. Need to be renovated. Bathroom looks old and not... Friendly. Bathroom wasn't cleaned up after our use. We checked every day... Staff from reception does not give you any info. They looked disturbed if you ask them something. No answer even at question about airport. They just say : we don't know where is the bus station for the airport, even for private line, even for public line. It is not possible the staff not to know the bus station for airport. It is just a simple example. Restaurant - we didn't try. Breakfast - same for 5 mornings and pretty poor. Could be more verity. Only 2 plugs outlets, and far away from bad.

Great place to stay. Very convenient for mestre train station. Only 10 minutes on the train to the Venusian islands. Train is only ยฃ1.40. Bed was comfortable and the room clean. Blackout curtains where a great bonus. Staff at reception were very helpful.

Great location! Easy bus ride from the airport and then the train station is across the street. Hotel staff was super nice as well and easy to understand. The rooms were fairly dated though. Even though it seemed like it was fairly new in the pictures, the room furniture and finishes were old. Bathroom also needed work. Water every where when you shower or went to use the toilet. But it was worth the price and location.

  • 3/5 S J. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly staff, nice location to train station. Rooms are clean but need to be updated. BUT the problem I had was the youth hostel next door. Music blaring, people screaming from 8:30pm till 2am.. As you can see from photo the outside area of youth hostel is right by the Plaza hotels rooms. Not the hotels fault at all but it's not pleasant when you have a flight the next day and you cannot sleep.

Nice room, nice hotel. Directly across the street from train and bus station. 5 minute train to Venice. Run down depressing area outside, skip the snooty restaurant with nonsense hours and seating inside. Bistro right next door run by VERY friendly older Asian couple, good food, service, price.

First rate hotel. Friendly, professional staff; convenient location; and lovely, comfortable room. I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong date but the front desk had a room for us when we arrived and dealt with us frazzled travelers. Highly recommend the. hotel.

Great hotel, we stayed here during our trip to Venice. Very close to the Mestre station from which you can take a 10min train to Venice. Prices are not too high, rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Not the most modern rooms furniture-wise, but we didnโ€™t lack anything

Would have liked something in the room to make coffee/tea. Shower is a little tricky. Breakfast is very good however I would have loved a toaster. Location is convenient. Overall, a good hotel.
