This was a great place beautiful and if you can book the suite which is not overly expensive but a beautiful two storey two bedroom with a huge lounge and kitchen with two bathrooms and the only room with a balcony on the roof of hotel with a great view. Friendly, helpful staff and only a short walk to the main shopping area. It was almost perfect because nothing is perfect but a close as you can get.

Very charming with minor defects. Large rooms with good AC. Full-fledged kitchen. Occasional unannounced party with loud music till midnight. The door lock may be so worn that you risk breaking the key, and you need to push pull the door in raw strength. Even in daytime, the front door requires opening with a key to exit the premises. Room service forgets some little thing every single day. Wifi sketchy 60 percent of the time. Used a lot of my data. Reception is very helpful, outstanding and commendable.

Not only the room was looking great but stunning courtyard and building. The staff were amazing and helped every way possible. For those who need to back up and share their pictures; the WiFi was also really good. A strong signal and fast enough to be useful.

Friendly and helpful start. The rooms are really spacious and nice! You feel like living in an old Palazzo! The location is nice and quiet. Within 5 minutes walking you can reach all main attractions!

The room was amazing, nice and big and we were the only ones on our floor. We had a great view out the window of the canal and could see the locals across the way.The room was very quiet even when they had music going in the courtyard. The staff were great, very nice and accommodating! The hotel is in a great location. It had a couple really tasty restaurants close by and a little market next door. San Marco was only about a 10 minute walk and the Rialto was only about a 17 minute walk (if you didn't get lost... Lol). It was close to a few of the water taxi stations. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it felt like home away from home!

First of all dont trust their pictures as someone already stated here. I dont believe any “great” review here either. When we arrived the mangement tried to put us in a horrible damp stinky room on the lower ground even though we booked the most expensive room. Extremely unhealthy conditions. So dont let them do it to you. Please have a look at my photos. Don't expect any apology from the management. After complaining to booking website, they moved us to a different hotel for one night but we had to get back here for the rest of our stay. Dont expect much when they put you in a "better" room. Our “better” room did not have a key! So it stayed unlocked all the time which obviously would invalidate the travel insurance. Shocking! The rooms and property is badly managed, dirty and very rundown. It seems that their main focus are the late night parties (yes it was loud!!) and not really the hotel or the guests. The staff attitude was very unprofessional and unwelcoming which made it all much worse. We travel very extensively and we have never been treated like this. I guess they dont have to care as being in Venice they will always get customers even if they put them in a pighouse. It's a pitty as the property has a big potential and could be stunning if the management changes completely. All this experience has really ruined our wedding anniversary.

Excellent service with very friendly staff. Worth ringing to confirm your room location within the hotel. We went for a "superior room" but the advertised view of the city was actually just a view of the opposite building on one of the canals! Also not all rooms have kitchen utensils despite being advertised as having a kitchenette. Some rooms also do not have a separate shower, just a handheld shower head from the tap.

Such a beautiful hotel! You get to stay in a palace. A bit out of the way, but at the same time due to the size of Venice everything was walkable. Our rooms were amazing, we had a little balcony in our room with a beautiful view.

The hotel apartment is amazing; three bedrooms, two bathrooms, AC, a huge dining area and a kitchen. The staff member that was here when we arrived was very friendly and recommended a few local places to eat. The apartment is neat and tidy, although there is some mold in the shower and one of the plug sockets is pretty much falling out of the wall. However, what really dropped this a star was the note saying that if we used the kitchen there would be a €50 charge to clean it!!! The first thing I did when looking around was turn on the kitchen tap and feel the cold water on this incredibly hot day. Does this mean I'll be charged to clean the sink? Who knows! I would have thought hiring the hotel room meant we could use all the facilities without being charged extra to do so.

I had visited Venice a few times before, it was my first time in Palazzo Contarini and I am pleased it addressed all my needs. It is a lovely place, a true historical and venetian palace without unnecessary fuss. I had the best of times and I loved the Castello area. Special thanks to the management and team. #AndraTuttoBene

very pleasant place, reception and staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is located really in a very calm area (if you don't mind the church bells, but there are churches everywhere in Venice). We recommend it.
