Trains were on time and that’s the most important thing for me. Very easy to buy the tickets on the automated ticket machines. Some of them don’t give enough information such as which platform the train is on. On the displays within the station only the final destination is shown so you kinda have to know which line is passing through the city you want to go to. Information centre staff is polite and helpful. They will resolve the train issues you have. Trains are fast, clean, and the overall railroad is pretty straight. You don’t really feel like moving at all. Sometimes there is a conductor to check the tickets but don’t gamble with it. Nobody else will check if you have one while boarding the train. The fines for not having a ticket are not worth it.

This beautiful station sits right on the Grand Canal of Venice. There is also a vaporetto (water bus) stop right in front of the station. Very convenient to get to using the water bus but it can get very busy. Train tickets are easily purchased at their ticket stations. There’s a cafe, gelateria, and a few shops at the station. Washrooms have a fee but if you purchase something at the cafe, you can use their toilettes. The station also offers a luggage storage.

Enjoyed this little spot waiting for a train to Rome. Not a ton of seating, but plenty of shopping options. A fairly large cafe/convenience store to pick up any snacks and beverages for the train ride. The public bathrooms cost a euro or two to get into, and if you want to use one in the stores, you have to buy something. Lots of communication about train times arrivals/departures, and the station is very intuitive to navigate around. FYI It was extremely busy outside leading up to the station and not a great spot to leisurely hang around or walk around with luggage.

Really great train station in Venice. Places to shop and eat. Easy access to the trains and the ferries are directly outside the station. Easy access. Station is very clean. Really enjoyed our visit to this train station.

The Venice train station has a huge departure and arrival system with many tracks, yet it is very efficient and structured in a very simple manner. There are plenty of stores that exist within the station and toilet facilities are also available.

It’s a little bit more organized than the station I started at, of course there are a Lot of people. The only anxiety inducing event was the board didn’t show the platform for my train. Apparently, the platform is known until the train arrives and you will have to stand watching the board until it shows.

As soon as you walk out of the station, you will see the charming Venice!!! The train station is not big, but there are many stores that make it easy for you to buy the stuff you need before you leave. The police and service staff at the station are friendly and you can also buy "Rolling Venice Card" here.

Well run train station with many platforms but easy to navigate. Has chargeable toilets and left luggage storage. When arriving you get the best view.

Just a typical Italian train station, but with the best view upon exit. There are various shops and cafes to waste some time, but not the best option when you are in Venice. Be careful of pick pockets, and you can arrive 10-15 mins before the departure time, depending on the train company, usually the doors close 1 min before departure

The train 🚆 station at Venice is a modern one. Exactly the right size, not big for someone to walk and not to small to be overcrowded. Lots of automatic ticket 🎟 machines make it easy to buy ticket avoiding wait a long to pay for it. Moreover, there are many shops to buy or just to spend your time while waiting for the train.

I am not sure if there is another train station quite like Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia where it offers you a view like this. To me, this is the best welcome view on arrival in all places I have travelled to thus far. The station is easy to navigate. It's clean. You feel safe being there. It's simply amazing. (July 2022)

Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia is the terminal train station in Venice. The station is bustling all the time. The ticket purchase at the self-service machine was slow when we used our credit card from a foreign country. The restroom is a little far away from the ticket lobby and make sure you have coins available to pay for the restroom.

Not many places to sit and wait for your train on a busy day but there is a cafe at the entrance on the right where you can sit and they come and take your order. That’s really nice so you don’t lose your seat and you can just pay cash. The iced coffee and chocolate croissant was perfect and they were very quick and respectful of train time. This station was easy to navigate with lots of quick shops. Don’t eat your food outside on the steps the birds will attack you.

A bustling yet remarkably appealing train station. The moment you disembark from the train, you'll be greeted by the captivating sight of Venice. Typically, you encounter cities crisscrossed with roads, but here, you'll encounter a city crisscrossed with rivers and canals. It's truly enchanting. Pictures or videos don’t do justice what you could witness on naked eye.

Great station that serves as a gateway to the rest of Italy, travel to Rome, Naples, Garda, Como you name it all from here. The station is well managed, clean with good social distancing procedures. A good selection of shops, food offers and services are available here, it’s also easy to get a bus boat from here via the grand canal, literally just outside the entrance.

Much cleaner than many Italian train stations. Ease of access and navigating trains is way simpler than before - granted I haven't been here in 20 years when I couldn't even figure out how to buy a ticket.

Beautiful, nicely organized train station named Santa Lucia in Venice provides all the comfort to passengers. It is located at the western end of the Grand Canal, in the Cannaregio district. Not far from Piazzale Roma, where the bus station and tram station are located. From this head station begins the railway section of four tracks that reaches the Venice Porto Marghera station first and then the Venice Mestre station, from where it branches off into the various lines for Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Salerno, Bologna, Verona , Brescia, Ferrara, Trieste, Udine. From this station there are also lines to some European cities such as Paris, Vienna, Munich and Geneva. The station is also served by the historic Simplon Orient Express line. Work on the construction of the railway began in 1860. It got its current look in 1952 when all the works were completed under the leadership of engineer Paolo Perilli. Within the station, ticket sales for regional trains as well as for high-speed freccia rossa trains are well organized. Of course there are also vending machines for ticket sales. Staniza offers a rich gastronomic offer. There are restaurants, pastry shops, snack bars, coffee bars. And also a multitude of quality souvenir shops as well as textile clothing stores. La Ferrovia is the name of the Vaporetto stop, which is located right in front of the station. From this departure vaporetto lines area you can take one of these boats, whose many lines cross the canals of Venice and the neighboring islands. One important note, remember to validate your ticket before boarding the train by inserting it into the special machines of the station.

It is very useful to arrive to Venice by train here. When you get out you would see a great view of the Gran Canal. The train station is clean and it also has shops. The trains in Italy works nicely and are clean.

Small but well presented and clean train station with clear signage directing you where to go and plenty of self service machines to order train tickets. Trains are generally on time and staff are friendly and on hand to help if needed in Italian and English too but their English isn't great. Also cafeteria on site but the service was unusual, had to go a till and place an order before waiting in a separate queue with a ticket to collect the food.

Very busy station. Toilet inside for 1 euro. Staff at the ticket office friendly and helpful. Also, the lady at the ticket (selling water bus tickets) speaks perfect English and helpful. Water bus ticket cost 7.50 euro for 70 minutes or 21 euro for day ticket.

Neat and clean. Station is well organized and you can easily find your way through. Good starting point for a city tour. Surrounded by several options for starting a good trip to Venice. Also your train trip will have great views.

Spacious train station that is easily navigable. You find a variety of restaurants, shops and also the machines where you can buy train tickets are spread nicely for tourists to buy easily. When you reach their, you are welcomes by an amazing view with also very convenient ferries to move inside of Venice or just take your bags directly to your hotel. The important thing is that you need to take care of last minute cancellations after 2-3 delays as I was going to get stuck their yesterday after my train got delayed twice, each for 10 minutes then got cancelled all together so ended up paying at the customer service almost 40 Euros more to be able to get back to Florence and the online complain form isn't that easy and keeps getting errors.
